oh debbsy, bless! i remember dropping ds when he was 5weeks old, i cried and felt terrible... but i do laugh about it now! silly mummy (may explain his current nuttiness )

gp has just phoned i have a new bug in my wound... blollox bollox bollox! 4th course of bloody antibiotics, and i have to venture out in this weather when i planned on staying in my pj's all day!

saralou100 · 18/01/2007 10:52

oh and dp's tragic story goes on.... he has to wear y-fronts after for the support... no boxers for 2 weeks! so sexy! he's not very impressed with that either

NatalieJane · 18/01/2007 11:19

Debbsy, don't feel guilty about it, I know that is easy for me to say, but honestly, everyone has a story to tell when it comes to dropping them!! DS1 rolled off his changer unit over my head (I was bent down in front of him getting some clothes out of the drawers under him), and landed straight on the floor, he also rolled head over feet off my lap in the middle of the night when I fell asleep feeding him! Nothing as adventurous has happened with George yet, but I am sure it is only a matter of time! Honestly give it a month, and you will be laughing about it!

Sara, lovely mental image now of your DP - thanks!! Sorry about your new infection, it hasn't been much fun for you has it?

podglet · 18/01/2007 11:33

Sara - Ryan is lovely Have also got charming image of your poor DP but PMSL laughing at the story, poor boy.

Debbsey - don't feel guilty about it. Babies are very resilient (sp) and Kai is just fine. Not surprised the slippers are in the bin though - I live in the totes slipper sox which have non slippery soles, coz I can't bear slippers for that very reason.

NJ - sounds like a growth spurt to me I am awaiting the 12 week one with baited breath, the last one (at 5 weeks) we were up very 90 mins for 3 days...

Hope everyone else is ok, we finally crossed over into the 3-6 month clothes yesterday and the poor soul looks so much more comfy! Cried like a girl though when I was boxing up his 0 - 3 month stuff have also realised he has no nice coats for this age, damn, an excuse to go shopping (although not today, this wind isn't funny)

schmizaj · 18/01/2007 13:19

Whew, just been catching up. I'm getting quite frustrated about never being able to do and complete things. Get to the end of the day and feel just like i've been chasing my tail all day. Guess that is motherhood though.

Verity had her jabs today, thought i'd seen all types of crying at this point, but there was an all new cry of pain. She just went back to sleep after so hopefully she won't get grumpy or feverish but we'll see. Felt even more unco-ordinated in the wind than usual with hand and feet trying to hold and steer!

Happycat - am interested in how you get on with the weigh-in. Verity having the same gain (or lack thereof), last week she didn't put on anything and feel like i'm feeding and eating all the time. Fortunately, HVs been quite supportive and saying to stick with it and it isn't a big deal etc. DH bought formula but can't see the point trying it when she just isn't hungary after bfeeds.

hi everyone, well we had yet another evening of screaming, its great fun and its killing me, as to quieten him i have to stand with him in a bf position and rock him side to side while jiggling his bum so his leg wobbles, very uncomfotable for me and is making my ribs ache no end! but it finally gets him to sleep after about 2 hrs as otherwise he'll scream for 6-12 non-stop!

oh the joys......oh and im really worried that im pg again! i had my period when keiran was 6 weeks now hes 11 weeks and i still havnt had another one....i have always been exactly 4 weeks since i started my periods.....me and dh have used protection but as iv hadto change pill its only been condoms and im scared at what might have happened......with dd i was on the pill and using condoms and i still fell....dunno what id do if i am, scary thought really!

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 09:36

Morning

Stacey, I wouldn't worry too much, it can take a while for our bodies to settle down after a baby, and just because it has always been every 4 weeks doesn't mean it will always be that way, the 'period' you had at 6 weeks may well have been just more bleeding from the birth, but, to put your mind at rest do a test, it is better knowing than worrying about it, especially when you have had little sleep, it is really easy to worry about things that aren't worth it.

I think George has finally finished his growth spurt, we went back to completely normal routine last night so hopefully that will be it till 12 weeks!!

I forgot to say, DH has finally decided on a car, Vauxhall Meriva, we should be picking it up next weekend, not looking forward to it, I hate the smell of new cars, ungratful cowbag aren't I? I don't see what was wrong with our car now though, and it has been DH's baby sorting out the new one, I have just let him get on with it. Oh well, DS1 will enjoy it

staceym11 · 19/01/2007 09:41

oh NJ yur so much jollier now you've had the baby!!

i know i shouldnt worry just yet as its only been 5 weeks but i just dread the thought!

FoghornLeghorn · 19/01/2007 09:46

Hi everyone, haven't been around for a while. Just had a brief catch up and a look at all the lovely pics, I will try and get one of DD2 up.
Things are going well, DD2 has injections on Tuesday, getting into a really good routine and managin to find more and more time to spend with DD1 which is great. Trying to toilet train DD1 atm which is proving hard work, having quite a few accidents but we'll get there eventually.
Weight loss in going relatively well too - have managed to lose 2st 3lb so far, only another 1st 11lb to go

FoghornLeghorn · 19/01/2007 10:03

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1700&threadid=266047Have put a pic of DD2 up now}

FoghornLeghorn · 19/01/2007 10:04

ARGGGG - Serves me right for thinking I could do it without reading the instructions !

Here is Casey Mae

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 10:21

LOL Stacey, was I that bad when I was pregnant? In fact, probably best not to answer that!! LOL I know I was pretty horrid towards the end, with all the contractions and not getting anywhere, and MIL's in put (or lack of) facing a home birth I didn't want at all, and to think I am willing to go through it all again in a years time!! I must be crackers!!

FHLH what a gorgeous picture

PMSL A certain tree??? LOL I wonder if it is more us, than them? They reckon babies can pick up on all sorts of things, I wonder if it is more that because she maybe went to sleep under that tree once, you then, in your own mind, decided that she wouldn't sleep elsewhere, and so then she wouldn't? Am I making any sense? Sorry I have been on the phone with my sister this morning and we had one of those deep conversations that crop up from time to time, I always find myself wailing on about crap after!! LOL

And new car smell is one of the worst smells ever, it's all stuffy and headachy yukky bluergh!! In fact I'm not sure what smells worse, the new car smell or all of the air freshner things I buy to try and mask the new car smell!

Very of you two thinking you are pregnant again, can't wait for all of the am I/aren't I moments again LOL

staceym11 · 19/01/2007 11:07

NJ you must be mad! wanting more so soon....its not a feeling im liking atm, too close and as i didnt really want any more anyway its sorta bone chilling, not sure what id do if i am....right stop thinking about it!

NJ i wish it was me, its just everytime i try and get him to sleep in the evening, it doesnt matter what i do i try everything first as the jiggling thing is really uncomfortable, he wont go to sleep till i do it.....and once hes 1/2 asleep and past the point of no return i can put him down. but if i stop too soon he starts up again worse than before and i have to start the whole process again! not much fun, hopefully its a phase!

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 11:29

Must admit, to be pregnant again right now would be scary, but I'm still !! LOL

Go and get a test, put your mind at rest, then you will stop the worrying.

With the sleeping thing, have you tried changing the bed time routine? TBH we don't have any sort of bed time routine, with the hours DH works and everything the only thing that is consistant is that DS1 goes to bed at 7.30 and the living room light goes off then so George can get an idea of night and day, but I think different babies/people respond to different things, i.e. people say to relax have a bath, and to wake up have a shower, but I am the other way, if I have a nice bath I wake up, if I have a shower I fall asleep!! If your DS is one of the 'bath wakes me up kinds' then do his bath in the morning or whatever. Obviously this just an example!! Does he have a comforter or dummy or anything else he can use as a sort of sleep prop?

Aha, I might have a taker on the next one then eh?!!! LOL I don't want to be the only one, it makes me think I am madder than I already know I am!!! LOL

podglet · 19/01/2007 15:05

I know I only have one at the moment, but I would do it again in an instant. we have decided to start trying again when DS is 6 konths old as we don't want a big age gap and also DP doesn't want to be raising kids in his 60's (he will be 37 this year)

However, seeing as there is no sign of any period yet, I don't think I need worry too much (yes, I know I don't need to have one before I get pg) plus we are being extra careful IYKWIM

Hope everyone is ok and not too wind torn

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 15:46

6 months, now you are putting ideas into my head!!! LOL

NatalieJane · 19/01/2007 16:16

Thomas and George together

Mummy2TandF · 19/01/2007 17:47

Oh NJ - your boys are lovely (as are all the photos of course)
Well - somebody mentioned wind torn our roof blew off yesterday Have had some roofers round today quoting £1,000 we also lost 2 panels from our garden fence.
It looks like our "normal" luck has returned - I think we are the most unlucky couple I have ever met, but at least we have 2 perfect children, 1 girl and 1 boy I think that is where all our luck must go.
On top of the wind damage yesterday, I am about to kill dh - he does absolutely nothing well I won't bore you all with the details - hope you are all okay, will catch up soon.

I was wondering if anybody might be experiencing a similar thing: Madeleine is now 8 weeks and she just doesn't focus or look at objects or people and I'm beginning to get really worried about this. Both DS1 and DS2 would follow objects by this age, and she doesn't. There have been occasions, I think, where she has smiled when looking at you but can't be sure. She does seem to respond to light, but she tends to keep her head to the right. Just wondering if other babies of the similar age are going through the same thing or if anybody has experienced this?
