Debbsyandson · 28/01/2007 11:37

saralou100 · 28/01/2007 12:28

talking of losing stuff, has anyone seen my debit card!! i can't find the thing anywhere!!!

debbsy, long bath, sounds heaven! hows kai's breathing/grunting.

well, i've been abandoned.. dp has had to go to stoke for training and will not return till fri... when he's here he drives me insane then when he goes away i miss him! crazy sara

Mummy2TandF · 28/01/2007 23:02

Wow - everyone is quiet today - or this weekend infact [hmmm] Maybe you are off doing nice things with your lo's.
We have had another weekend of doing nothing! but dh has finally got his car working, so I won't need to pick him up from the station anymore it was getting a bit much to take both ds and dd out at 5:30pm - it is a really awkward time. Anyway - can't remember if I told you but I took dd to be weighed on Thursday - she is 12lbs 6.5oz , that means that in her 13 weeks of being here she has put on a whopping 6lbs 2.5oz .... nearly doubled her birth weight - anyway off for a bath now - take care

Debbsyandson · 29/01/2007 09:35

sara thanks for asking kai is still grunting, and he has a snuffly nose, just been told to keep the room vaporised and if he is no better in a week to take him back.So im going to take him back tomorrow if he is no better.Ahh dh away all week that must be awful how is the job going for him? ill give him a wave as im going through lol.

staceym11 · 29/01/2007 09:58

Hi everyone, yeah it has been quiet this weekend, i was on a couple of times but didnt fancy talking to myself!!

Well keiran is a really fussy eater, if i try and give him milk after his solids (he has them half way through a bottle) he goes mad, all he wants is solids, had to break them up now, 2 hrs (ish) in between a bottle and solids so he doesnt refuse half the bottle!

well dds thrush hasd nearly cleared up which is great, poor thing was so uncomfy!!

oh and keiran will barely sleep anywhere but his bed, he wont sleep on the sofa anymore and if i take them out in the buggy or we go out with dh in the car he's awake the whole time, a bit inconvenient as he is a baby that gets overtired and then wont sleep! what a PITA!

Debbsyandson · 29/01/2007 10:07

Hi Stace clad dd is getting better,my ds is like that too too nosy i think doesnt want to miss anything then gets all upset cos he is over tired then fights sleep for as long as he can mummy always wins though lol.

staceym11 · 29/01/2007 10:29

well keiran gets to the point where he screamng and wont calm down coz he's so tired but gone past it. some nights i have to wander round holding him to calm him down, not good for my posture i ache for days afterwards! I seem to be better at catching when he needs to go to sleep now and if we'r in i put him to bed, seems to be working, if we'r out tho evenings can be hell!

Saying that he didnt sleep well yest daytime and went to bed at 7.30 last night after a bottle and his mush and slept till 4, when he woke i shoved his dummy back in and he went back to sleep, he then woke for a feed at 7.30! almost 12 straight hours! haha im winning at night!

saralou100 · 29/01/2007 10:32

morning all!

i'm lonely!! my bed was far tooo big last night! debbbsy, dp hates his job - passionately! i have to keep reminding him that it's only for a short time till something better comes up! he has a job interview on friday though so fingers crossed for him!! hope kai's better soon!

but i found my debit card at least

saralou100 · 29/01/2007 10:36

ryan tends to cat nap during the day... he eats too much to get a proper sleep out of him! but were winning at night for it.. he went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 6am such a good boy!

ds1 on the other hand has a new tooth and a cold so woke up 3 times in the night!

it's the wrong way round!

Debbsyandson · 29/01/2007 10:55

Very envious i was up with kai 10.30 1,30 4.00 7.00

saralou100 · 29/01/2007 11:19

i won't mention it again then

staceym11 · 29/01/2007 12:18

debbsy keiran was liek that last week but this week is doing really well......hopefully it'll happen that quick for you too! its amazing how much more energy iv got and how much better i feel now im getting a bit more sleep!

Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether all babies have the 12 week growth spurt that the HV mentioned to me? Isabelle usually feeds every 2.5 hours during the day, but today she's not lasted that long and won't even accept her dummy if we try that before giving her food. Is this the start of a growth spurt, or is she in a bad mood for some reason?! She was 12 weeks on Saturday.

Mummy2TandF · 29/01/2007 22:09

Happycatandizzy - yep, sounds like the growth spurt to me, these spurts give a couple of days of what seems like constant feeding but as long as you remember that it is just a stage - then they aren't that bad I found it worse with ds because I didn't twig it was a spurt until we had had a couple of really miserable days ..... luckily with dd I realised

staceym11 · 30/01/2007 07:56

now my kids are odd coz when they have growth spurts they sleep almost all day (obv when kids do their growing) but they just dont mess with their food at their normal meal times and sleep almost constantly the rest of the time. I have strange kids! lol

saying that keiran went all night again last night, put down at 10 he woke at 2 but i gave him his dummy and he settled, and he woke just after 6, it would have been bliss is madam moo hadnt been up asking for her dummy 3 times!!! its going out the window tonight, dummy is now banished, im getting ready for a night of hell!

podglet · 30/01/2007 08:54

Hi

Am still waiting for the 12 week growth spurt and DS will be 13 weeks tomorrow am hoping we sneaked passed it without noticing

Happycat - there is another one at 16 weeks too - apparently a really big spurt, just to warn you!

stacey, don't know if you had had any ideas on what to tell Dd about her dummy but my friend told her DS that his dummy was going to be a star in the sky and he waved to his dummy in the sky for a few nights after that - bless

Took DS back to the Dr yesterday as he still wasn't right. The Dr said the thrush had gone but he might have a slight cold so got the calpol all ready to dose him up and he promptly slept form 8.30pm - 2 then 2.15 - 6.30am the only problem is at the moment is that he is very clingy with me. I am putting it down to the fact that he might not be feeling too bright but he won't go down on his own and just wants me to be with him the whole time. I love the cuddles but i would also like him to play on his own a bit more as he was doing last week. Perhaps it is just anoher "stage"?

staceym11 · 30/01/2007 09:10

well im telling dd that the dummy fairy is coming to get it and if shes asleep when the dummy fairy comes then she'll leave her a treat! hopefully it'll work, cant deal with keep giving it back to her, shes 2 ffs!!!

fatbetty · 30/01/2007 09:36

My DS1 and DS2 were very attached to their dummies. When DS1 was almost three he loved to also chew on them - which he eventually chewed a hole in it. Then he tried to suck it and it wasn't the same. He just handed it back to us and said it was broken. After that I just told them they all were broken and he never looked back.
