Gorgeous outfits! Am currently playing Russian roulette as to how long I stay downstairs. Finally settled J upstairs at about 9:30 and torn between getting some sleep and spending time with DH. Also got one ear out for J, will find it easier once our baby monitor arrives!

I know I will be up for Mugabe nights at some point, just not sure when! Met up with friends and their 20 week old, who were struggling with sleep. They were explaining how they usually get one 6 hour sleep at night - I was incredibly envious!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 31/10/2015 23:22

I've just lost my post 3 times!

Anyway, happy to get the first round in at Mugabe Nights now and I'm definitely having a double. Exhausting evening here but DS is finally asleep. He's on me but that's better than the four hour screamathon we had prior.

We also had a nightmare converting the cot into a bed and have broken it! DD is now asleep on her matress on the floor but stupidly happy as she doesn't know any better and thinks that is her big girl bed!! Bless. We now have to buy both a toddler bed and a new cot bed as now don't even have a cot for when DS outgrows the crib. Oops!

Going to post now so I don't lose it again. Cheers - shit up your back!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 31/10/2015 23:25

P.S. Loving all the pics - Dozy, yours is a classic. Mzzzf nice work on the bedtime upstairs and Fatty I'll have your toffee apple sourz since you aren't joining us tonight. Sounds like you need the night off after last night though.

Tindel · 01/11/2015 00:37

Only had about 90 minutes sleep before J woke up, but chuffed that we managed another settle down and leave upstairs. Think this means we made the right decision to go down this route.

I'll get the second round in - cheers!

FattyNinjaOwlBecameAZombie · 01/11/2015 00:54

Confused OK then...so much for sleep....
Just had some woman banging fuck out if my door. I answer it (in my jamas because I was in bed) and she starts ranting about how she's with xxx and I've not to even think about going near him because he's told her all about me (XXX is crazy stalker ex who has been stalking me on and off for ages. Police know but no actual proof so nothing can be done)

I just laughed. She carried on ranting at me, clearly pissed, so I told her I had a takeaway for my tea, and asked if she wanted those left over too.Hmm Then closed the door on her. I'm going to wait up for another half hour or so and if she turns up again I will phone the police.

GiraffesCanDance1 · 01/11/2015 01:24

Fatty poor you! Hope the crazed woman hasn't reappeared! Just checking in to Mugabe nights for a couple of the sourz shots then I'm off to sleep (hopefully). Dd made it from 7 to 12 tonight (and so did her nappy, thanks pampers) so no suhb incidents yet (shit up her back). Does anyone else use the baby dry pampers? I think you could poor a swimming pool on them and they wouldn't leak. Nothing protects against the projectile though.

Good luck all! Dd is currently sleeping on me after her feed, I'm enjoying the cuddle but time to get her back to bed.

FattyNinjaOwlBecameAZombie · 01/11/2015 01:27

Well she seems to have decided to leave me in peace. Off I go back to bed. I may actually get to sleep properly now!

mzzzf · 01/11/2015 01:54

Fatty you lunatic magnet! Hope she's passed out into her kebab somewhere by now and you're in a lovely deep sleep - noooo I'm not jealous at all Halloween Envy

Oops posted too soon!

Nightmare about the cot bed nolonger. But bless your DD getting into the spirit of things!! Don't fancy two lots of flat pack though. Flat pack is a swear word in this house too, not from me though as I love it but it's DH's kryptonite!!!

Giraffes - yes we use pampers too! Do you mean the newborn baby dry packs with the blue wetness line or the very slim baby dry ones?! Either seems to work really well but for me the newborn ones are fantastic - dreading her getting too big for them!

Well done on getting J settled tindel. Deffo a step in the right direction. Mini mzzzf has been giving similar 'hints' recently too, hence the 8.30pm bedtime. She only woke up around 1.30am for a feed and has now conked out again on my arm, snoring away! Grin

First time using the monitor last night, we only have a simple sound one that was handed down to us. My goodness it's bloody nerve wracking those first few minutes/hours!! Surprisingly DH was against the use of monitor before but he just got it set up yesterday so I went with it. The after she'd gone down and I was downstairs he suddenly became ok with it all! Had no desire to check her in person often despite saying the monitor wasn't sensitive enough. MEN! Hmm

Right next round is a shot of firing sambuccas followed by a cooling mojito!!

Hi checking out mugabe nights. I think i'll start as I mean to go on with a double tequila! Ds has woken up for his first feed. Went down at 8 and had a dream feed at 10.30 when I went to bed . Yesterday he managed 9 till 3 with no dream feed so don't think that is working. I juse need to go to bed earlier if I want a good chunk of sleep. Just been dreaming I had spiders in my hair, bloody Halloween!
Fatty poor you, hope she's done one.
I use pampers at night and lidl during the day. They do hold a lot of wee but had poo leak out the top once, maybe just not on tight enough? We'll done to all the cloth users, I would have liked to give them a go but just couldn't face the washing, I barely cope with the laundry as it is without any more. Right hopefully off back to bed, I'll save my dancing on the bar for another night

sianihedgehog · 01/11/2015 02:44

Mugabe all! DS woke me up at 1:30 with the loudest poop known to man and has apparently decided that after being changed he would really like to spend the rest of the night cluster feeding. Yaaaaaay. Thought he was dozing off a few minutes ago but he woke up and immediately cried for the boob. I assume he's topping up so that he can sick down his front and really get into the spirit of things.
fatty what a loon! II guess she found evidence of your stalker ex contacting you and he told her you won't leave him alone.

We had LOADS of trick or treaters tonight! Had to answer the door with DS feeding at one point because DP was pooping and poor little DS was really really hungry. Hope no one took offense, I'm assuming kids don't care as long as they get candy.

everythingispeachy · 01/11/2015 04:07

Well we're back. Siani I think it is impossible to take offence at someone breastfeeding when you have knocked on their door and they are giving you sweets! We had no one so unfortunately I had to eat all the chocolate we boughtSmile I think I really need to start the diet tomorrow

sianihedgehog · 01/11/2015 06:03

I think I must be the only woman alive who actually LOVES doing laundry. It's so satisfying, the sorting, the planning and timing so that you can run full loads and hang it out to dry, the chemistry of dealing with stains, the clean smells. I forcibly took over doing DPs laundry because he was doing it WRONG and it was driving me mad. I am mildly worried about cloth nappies ruining it with bad smells, but with disposable liners it seemed to be fine when I did a day long trial. I'm kind of viewing it as levelling up in the laundry game!

Joskar · 01/11/2015 06:28

I'm not mad for laundry but there's something really nice about hanging nappies on the line. Very satisfying.

Dh let me have an hour's kip yesterday afternoon and then the girls and I went to the Halloween party. Our village is very spread out (we're a mile and a half off the main road) so no one goes guising. It's all about the party. It was great. Grand Old Duke of York, Farmer in the Den, Pass the Parcel...all the old favourites. Dd1 had an awesome time. She ate ALL THE SUGAR and ran about laughing and shouting. Great fun. Plus there was extra jelly and ice cream so I had a plate too!

Dd2 and I were in bed by 10 and she slept til after 3. Amazing! She's just had a half hour feed and miraculously dd1 isn't awake yet so might have another sneaky sleep. Hurrah!

Happy Sunday everyone!

GiraffesCanDance1 · 01/11/2015 06:33

Morning, I love Mugabe nights as they are still serving, I'll help prop up the bar.

Mzzf I love the pampers new baby with the line on them too, the line is quite a new invention as they didn't have it when dd1 was a baby. I'm dreading no longer being able to use them too, why do they stop at size 3?! I use the Pampers Baby Dry size 3+ at night now though, they are seriously absorbent, I used with dd1 too and they hold so much they only need to be changed once per night (I'm lazy!) unless baby poos of course as that may be uncomfortable (I'm not that lazy).

Sian I had to answer the door to Jehovah witnesses whilst bf before, I think it gave them a surprise, though they still tried to give me a leaflet, I exclaimed 'I'm trying to feed my baby!!!' Whilst gesturing at baby and breast, then they muttered something about me looking busy and backed off cautiously Grin

This week really has been crazy after a few easy weeks. Dd is sleeping on me with white noise in the background as after her 5am feed I changed her nappy which woke her up, then she was crying and fussing as seemed too full to nurse to sleep and unable to self soothe. I think the 3 month mark is renowned for being unsettled so hopefully she'll go back to being easy in the coming days/weeks.

Hope everyone is ok!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 01/11/2015 07:16

Morning all,

Bad luck nolonger on the broken bed. If it helps at all (especially on the cost front) we moved grumpy 1 from her cot straight into an adult sized single bed. We had no night tumbling unlike some of our friends, despite her being a nocturnal wriggler, which I put down to the sheer size of the bed - she could sleep across it! Didn't need a bed guard either.

I don't mind laundry. I wouldn't put it up there in my top ten activities (numbers 1-9 are currently 'sleep' anyway!!) but there is something very satisfying about the logistics of it, especially if you manage to time it so you can get it outside and not draped all over the house. I'm the opposite with DH though, after a passive aggressive stand off about balled up socks, unfurling of sleeves and emptying of pockets I no longer do his laundry. It's better for our relationship, even if he never has anything clean to wear!

Frolicacid · 01/11/2015 07:44

Who was it that said that if something happens 3 times it's a pattern? Well, ds did another 7 hour stretch last night. We both conked out at 10:30 and didn't wake until 5:30 am. Heaven! Dh has apparently been up 3 times in the night with frolicdog and is VERY TIRED!! Hmm
I didn't get a chance to post last night as ds spent all evening being grumpy and unable to settle. We went to mil's for a bit in the afternoon and his naps got buggered up again. Poor chap didn't know what he wanted and spent all evening doing 2 minutes each of feeding, sleeping, playing and crying. We were Both exhausted by bedtime.

Thank you for all the well wishes for the dog. She's already much better. Normal service will resume in a few days i'm sure.

I'm loving all the cute Halloween photos! I think dozy wins first prize for creativity. We all have such gorgeous babies.

I hope you got some carbs to fed the hangover monster famby. How was your evening out?

Yay! For giggles slow. We're getting chuckles, but I can't wait for the proper stuff.

Welcome everything! I hope you enjoyed your first Mugabe night Smile

Feeding time has massively decreased here as well in recent weeks giraffes. Ds averages about 7 minutes now. I figure he's just got more efficient as the frequency hasn't increased. A part of me is missing all the long sit down's!
Ds is also getting much more into being in the bouncy chair or baby gym. He still loves a cuddle, but definitely has times when he just wants to be able to kick out.

How did the sleeping upstairs go mzzf? Flaming sambucas followed by mojito's sounds ace.

That lady sounds like a proper crazy fatty. I hope she stops bothering you.

Sorry to see so many of you have had shit sleeps. Hopefully it was the Halloween excitement and tonight will be better.

I also quite like laundry. I have a system for drying stuff on the airers and heaters and get irrationally upset when dh puts things in the 'wrong' place!
We're starting cloth nappies today. I'm very sadly excited by my new lidded bucket and mesh laundry bags!

Happy Sunday augmums Grin

Joskar · 01/11/2015 08:17

Well dd1 woke 10 minutes after I posted but at least she didn't wake before 6 like she usually does. That bloody groclock is useless!

Top laundry tip is those smalls driers. A sort of plastic hoop with pegs on it iykwim. Babygros, nappies, wee socks. Invaluable.

We're considering going swimming later. What's everyone up to?

FattyNinjaOwlBecameAZombie · 01/11/2015 09:30

Oh God I hate laundry.
I'm hoping crazy lady was just in a drunken state and won't bother me again. Although I am highly annoyed that she knew my address, but not surprised given who she is with. I just hope maybe now he will move on and leave me be. It's been 10 years! I was 14 fgs.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 01/11/2015 12:32

Afternoon all. Having a lovely Sunday so far. Left DH at home cleaning and took the dwarfs to the park. Came home to the smell of a chicken roasting, yum.

How are the nappies going frolic? And hooray for the sleep! Let's hope this is the new normal for you. Hope frolic dog is back on form today also.

dozy that photo of Piper as a pumpkin is amazing! How did you do it? I'd love some quirky photos of mine but I can only get them to stay still long enough for a quick snap normally.

Welcome peachy nice to 'meet' you. Mind the sticky floors here at Mugabe nights Smile

tindel yay for having an evening! Which monitor did you decide to get in the end?

giraffes I seem to remember there is a growth spurt at 12 weeks and sleep regression at around 16. Maybe your DC is sorting both out at the same time?

fatty sounds like a real life Halloween nightmare. Launch a pooey nappy at her if she reappears Grin

FattyNinjaOwlBecameAZombie · 01/11/2015 13:20

slow
Launch a pooey nappy at her if she reappears
Grin you evil genius! I like it Grin

sianihedgehog · 01/11/2015 14:20

Oh my god, cluster feeding will never end today. I've been trying to go out since about 10am and I'm so very bored! Poor DS is grumbling and crying as soon as he's off the boob and pauses only to sick up or need changing.

Frolicacid · 01/11/2015 16:29

It's misery Sunday chez frolic. Ds is grumpy and doesn't know what he wants. He's not feeding much and looks pale as well. I wander if this could be the start of his first cold? Something's definitely not right with him. And the dog is sore from her op and has an upset tummy from the meds. I feel so sorry for her because I can barely put ds down so I can show her some love Sad.

I love those laundry hangers jockstar! Ideal for drying stuff hung in the windows in winter.

Your Sunday sounds lovely slow. Mmmmmm at roast chicken. I have managed to make a beef stew for myself and a chick pea one for dh amidst the madness today. I love the smell of warm, hearty food cooking on autumnal days.
Nappies are going well so far. Although I struggled a bit with size as the ones that he should be in look baggy around the leg, so I've stuck on a newborn one which looks ok. No leaks from either so far.

Sorry you're having a shitty day as well siani Flowers.

loveandsmiles · 01/11/2015 17:04

Hope everyone had a very Happy HalloweenHalloween Smile

We have had a weekend full of parties and too many sweets - keep waiting on toddler being sick. DCs were very quiet on Saturday morning whilst I was cleaning - came into playroom and they had painted babies face and called her Zombie Baby - I went mad - she was lying on playmat sound asleep with her face painted like a Zombie with blood dripping all over it - should have taken a picture but in my rage just wiped it all off whilst yelling at DCs - waking her up with much screaming - Happy Halloween indeed Halloween Grin

Love all the fab mini trick or treaters!!

Left DH with DCs for an hour this afternoon and popped to Early Learning Centre - lots of toys half price - my Xmas shopping is going well!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 01/11/2015 18:11

Love that is the best story ever! I always think a quiet house is more worrying than a noisy one!

We've had a lovely day as the weather has been so mild we have been out in the garden playing and generally goofing around. Am now enjoying 5 mins peace while DD eats her dinner and DS is napping.

Awful night here then DS finally did the poo that has been brewing for days and suddenly was able to sleep. He did a 5 hour nap! It was in his car seat though as he did the poo at DD's dance class this morning and fell asleep after he was changed. I didn't take him out because it was so liberating having him nap not on me but am feeling guilty that he was in there so long.

Sending hugs for Frolic and Siani for rubbish Sundays.

Welcome Peachy. We're all a bit bonkers from sleep deprivation on here.

Right, time to run the bath now. Love winding down to bedtime! We have ordered a new bed but it doesn't arrive until Weds so mattress on the floor for DD again tonight!!
