Hi all

I couldn't see a July 2015 thread so thought I'd start one. My daughter was born on the 6th and the last two weeks have been fun and tiring - with not much sleep!

Anyone else around?

Injections were awful! DS2 had his 3 weeks ago. Not looking forward to the next lot, so booked them on a Friday after work so he's not all unsettled at nursery the next day.

I'm managing to express twice a day at work which is working out fine, except yesterday when I forgot my blooming milk bags and had to chuck the milk away! arghh!

Diet is going well, 2.5 stone off now, 2 stone still to go before it's all off but feeling much better now i'm back in the gym.
Csection has healed marvellously!
We are 11+2 here now.

Charliej86 · 30/09/2015 13:45

10weeks & 4days and suffering our first cold Sad probably weighing in at about 15lbs. I'm cutting down weighs from 2weeks to 4weeks.
I know a few babies older than him that weigh less. I'm not worried, he doesn't over eat he's just a big lad.

Thankfully my weight is going down nicely, 7.5lbs down in 3weeks. Just need to start some exercise

Zampa · 01/10/2015 16:47

Holly We stopped swaddling last night and my lo is now in her GroBag at 11 + 5 (adjusted). It seemed to go well!

Has anyone put their lo in their big cot and/or their own room yet? The big cot move is imminent as she's growing out of her bassinet. I can't bear the thought of her sleeping in a different room though!

HollyC255552 · 02/10/2015 07:11

Zampa so glad it went well in her Grobag. She didnt mind it all then? I must do the swap over in the next week or so especially as she is now 11+2 & time is getting on. I'll let you know how it goes.

smallgreenbanana · 02/10/2015 07:40

Hi everyone!

Baby banana is nearly 11 weeks now and we are starting to get an idea of her little personality. She's very alert and interested in everything, she likes smiling, rolling and chatting, but finds it hard to calm down and go to sleep, especially for daytime naps. I've read that some babies are like this (and my parents say I was too) but it's very hard work! And my heart breaks when she is so tired she becomes inconsolable. Anyone got any tips for soothing sensitive babies?

Hope everyone is doing well!

smallgreenbanana · 02/10/2015 07:41

Oh yes, we're going to have to swap to the crib soon as she fills the bassinet. Not looking forward to that - she really likes her bassinet.

Number3cometome · 02/10/2015 08:57

DS2 has been in his cot from the start, we tried the moses basket but he wasn't keen, so we putt he Poddle in his cot and then skipped the Poddle part.
He does wake up a couple of times in the night sitting at my desk with burning tired eyes and usually ends up attached to my breast in bed!

I do try and make sure I put him back in his cot!

Zampa · 02/10/2015 18:32

Small My lo sometimes gets so tired all she can do is scream! We try and squish her in our arms so she feels secure and can't flail around. She eventually calms down but it's very upsetting.

smallgreenbanana · 02/10/2015 20:07

Zampa baby banana gets like that a lot in the evening because of the troubles sleeping during the day Sad It is terribly upsetting isn't it. Bless them.

I'm not weighing myself for a while yet! You guys are all very brave to get going on shifting the pounds so soon.

Charliej86 · 04/10/2015 20:53

We're having first nite in cot tonite as well as first nite using sleeping bag. He's loving lying in the cot watching his mobile but not sure showing signs of sleep lol. (He was asleep when I put him in)
Fingers crossed for a good nite. He doesn't fit in Moses basket any more and was spending more time in bed with me. X

Zampa · 04/10/2015 22:49

I really need to woman up and make the move to the cot. I can't bear the idea of sleeping in a different room to her though so will be leaving DP and camping in the nursery for a few nights until I'm comfortable with the idea.

God knows how I'm going to cope with leaving her in nursery, when that cubes around! Starting tours this week ...

Charliej86 · 05/10/2015 05:24

We have the cot in our room and will until he's about 18months as he'll be sharing with ds1.
Tonite has been a massive fail in my eyes tho. He slept fine for an hour but has had me up n down n he's been in and out of bed with me. I'll be luck to have 3 hours sleep. And he's having an extra bottle where we had been down to just 1. Although he hadn't fed well yesterday so it could be that.

Has anyone else noticed how much noise men make in their sleep??!! Come very close to smothering OH with coughing, snoring, retching, and turning over, even just breathing!

Number3cometome · 05/10/2015 09:33

Zero sleep last night, falling asleep on the train and at my desk, gym at lunch, may fall asleep in there too!

smallgreenbanana · 05/10/2015 10:54

Not a very good night here either! I've lost the will this morning. Had a little cry and she tried to cheer me up! Constant struggle to try and get her to sleep and stay asleep. Really getting me down.

MuddyWellyNelly · 05/10/2015 12:07

Ugh rubbish night for me too! DS didn't stay asleep until 2am. Every time I put him down he woke up and cried. He's had a cold for 2 weeks now and was particularly blocked last night. I was too tired from a couple of rubbish nights at the weekend to let him safely sleep in the bed, so up and down for hours it went.

smallgreenbanana · 05/10/2015 12:31

Took me an hour to get her to sleep for a nap this morning. She's still asleep an hour later but only because I've got my hands on her arms. Wondering if I need to wake her up to feed as I'm battling a blocked duct. Can't win! It's so terrible you sort of have to laugh. Grin Sad

Number3cometome · 05/10/2015 14:41

Small snap with the blocked duct, I have been massaging the bastard like crazy which gives some relief, but it comes back again the next day!

LittleMiss77 · 05/10/2015 21:08

Hi everyone.... Can i join in?

DS born on the 15th. 12 weeks old on Wednesday. Round 2 of vaccinations due on Friday which im not looking forward to in the slightest (i cried at the first set)

However, DS is sleeping from 8pm - 7am (with a feed at 930pm)

Im beginning to feel and function like a normal human being again Grin although i do have serious baby brain and my hair is falling out in handfulls Sad

HollyC255552 · 05/10/2015 22:44

Welcome Littlemiss exactly the same bday as my DD. Bet its lovely getting a full nights sleep. Slightly jealous...Wink. However i am getting the handfuls of hair & definitely have baby brain. My DD has her jabs booked for Monday. Absolutely dreading it! Sad. Hope it goes ok for DS Friday.

Charliej86 · 06/10/2015 10:25

Had a much better nite last nite. Kept his arms in the sleeping bag and he slept 9:15-2:45 then back off, with some cuddles, 3:30-7:40
Wish I'd slept as much tho haha, kept waking checking he was breathing.

LittleMiss77 · 06/10/2015 11:14

Holly dont be too jealous... he doesnt sleep much during the day and screams the place down if he feels im not giving him enough attention. I dont get much done during the day cos im too busy keeping him entertained!

smallgreenbanana · 07/10/2015 17:56

number3 how is it now? Managed to get rid of mine again - hot water bottle and lots of feeds.

Welcome littlemiss

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/10/2015 19:03

Hi all
I posted earlier in the thread but haven't been on for quite a while now, ever since the fun and games with the passwords.
Glad to see that everyone is doing ok and especially pleased to see that your lo is doing well Zampa.
Dd is now 13 weeks and mostly doing well. She is on ranitidine for reflux which has made such a difference. She has dropped from the 75th to the 25th centile but the HV wasn't concerned as she looks healthy and is probably just finding her line.
It has been a real baptism of fire getting used to looking after 2 under 2 but getting there slowly. It has helped massively that I have been sleeping in the spare room but that finishes in a couple of weeks when dd1 moves in there for her 2nd birthday. Not looking forward to that!
Second jabs tomorrow!

LittleMiss77 · 08/10/2015 09:35

Hey Purple

Hope everything goes ok today with round 2 of the vaccinations. Its DS turn tomorrow and im dreading it - i felt so dreadful the first time round. Now i know what to expect im not sure if im feeling ok about them or guilty because i know that the jabs will hurt DS and that he's going to cry Sad

Can i ask if anyone has moved thier DC from bassinet/moses basket to buggy seat/cot yet?

DS is long and is going to be too big for both in a few weeks - im nervous about the move to a cot and the SIDS risk before 6mths. We dont have the space in our room for his cot so he'll be in his own room...

Is it ok for babies at such a young age to be in a buggy seat if i can get it as flat as possible?

Number3cometome · 08/10/2015 10:24

smallgreenbanana It's been there since my milk came in, it comes back every day and I massage it when I am expressing at work. It hurts!
