Yellow so sorry about your bad night!! Why did your DH say it was your fault that your DD had a nightmare????

stumpy, LOL at lemon clean!

Melsy, Alex is going be a donkey in a nativity play on the 14th!!!!!!!!! Can you beleive it how cute is that?

He is still really ill with his chest infection. The poor thing just coughs constantly. Our Christmas party is tomorrow so I am busy getting ready for that and hoping Alex will be well for it. Or if he isnt that he will just sleep through it, although I do want him to make an appearance in his santa suit.

xxxx

PinkTinsel · 09/12/2006 10:51

oh i hope alex gets better eeny, is there anything you can give him for the cough?

[sngry] at your dh on your behalf feathers, they really do need a slap sometimes don't they! glad you got a lie in at least though.

we tried putting caleb into the cot months ago but he didn't like it and woke loads so i put him back in the crib. he still doesn't like it woke up and just wouldn't settle back into it last night, ended up falling asleep on the bed with him fully dressed and woke up at 3am when dp came to bed, tried to put him back in the cot asleep but he woke after 2 seconds and screamed. i think he'd settle better in a grobag but can't afford one! he seems to prefer being snuggled up at night.

sorry about your crappy night stumpy, i hate when they won'tr settle like that!

I appologise for gatecrashing your thread but I urge you all to look at this artical about the risk of cot death in car seats for young babies.

Having seen my baby go blue in a car seat (she was awake at the time, and is fine now) I urge you all to use car seats for their purpose - safely restraining your baby in the car. A travel system may be convenient and it may mean your baby can see you in their pushchair, but it is nowhere near as safe for them as laying them flat in a pram or pushchair. Please think about if you use your travel system on each occasion.

I am sorry if it sounds like I am shouting but seeing a baby go blue is scary. There is another thread which also has some other comments on .

PinkTinsel · 09/12/2006 11:55

wierd coz my car seat has him lying pretty much on his back. no worries, missy wakes him up ever time he's asleep in it anyway and he's getting too big for it, buying a proper seat in the sales for him.

sorry you had such a fright with your lo SMS.

eenysugarplumfairy · 09/12/2006 18:27

Thanks for the warning SlightlyMadSanta - Alex doesnt sleep in his car seat unless we are in the car and its moving.

Pink we are going to be buying a car seat for Alex in the sales as well.

Well my party is tomorrow so I am BUSY. Its lovely. I'm sure I'll be sad when its over.

sarahSILVERbells · 10/12/2006 08:42

For all you considering buying a fixed in car seat - I'd recommend Britax First Class with the newborn insert! I bought one of these for Jack when he needed it as in the travel system car seat, his head kept lurching forward like he had a broken neck! In this one, he looked ever so comfy - it made me jealous!! Going to get it out of the loft soon for Molly - she's nearly out of the travel system one!

eenysugarplumfairy · 10/12/2006 11:52

oh PLEASE come entertain me!!! Its 2 hours til my guests start arriving, EVERYTHING is ready, the house is spotless, I am all dolled up and I havent got anything to do!!! Please Please Please come entertain me! I'm on msn and MN.

PinkTinsel · 10/12/2006 12:49

i take it your msn went wierd again?!

BigHotMama · 10/12/2006 14:47

Cheers for the tip on carseat Sarah. my friend had a baby 4 weeks ago and she stopped breathing whilst in the carseat, she's only 5lb8oz and has been told she cant go in the carseat until she's bigger. How awful! But she's ok now thank god.

Booby, I'm not far from you chick, am living in the west mids a little place called Tipton, near Dudley. You can have ya nails done at half price lol!

Stumpy, the only excercise I get is swimming once a week and the occasional walk. Oh and I do do a lot of sweating when singing at the weekend does that count? I did buy the all stars workout and have watched it but not put my body into action with it yet, keep staring at it thinking I'll do it another time and that time just never comes.

Hoppy. didnt last long with putting Jackson to bed for a nap, he now like napping on a huge pillow in the lounge with us during the day but I have found him napping on his playmat and in his bouncey chair bonus!

Pink, if you cant afford a grobag try the boots own brand of sleeping bag, I got one yesterday for £14.00 and jackson slept well in it last night, only woke up at 4.30am for a feed.

Dreamy the xmas pud outfit was from Boots also, hope the christening went well.

Eeny, hope Alex is ok now, bet he'll be the cutest donkey ever!

Melsy. I can defo recommend Slimming world, you can eat so much its unreal? There's greeb days where you can fill up on Jacket spuds, pasta, rice, slimming world chipd (ab fab!) and then red days for your meat days. Cant you get a babysitter in so you can have yourself a nice night out? Even if its just a meal and flicks? You'll feel like a new woman, us moms have got to have a bit of a life too ya know! And after all we bloody deserve it too!

Yellow have ye found the rat yet?

2 weeks and counting for xmas, can you believe it? I'm soo excited!!!

Snowboo have you tried rusks on Austin yet? Gave Jackson a few spoons of baby rice but he wasnt that impressed tbh. Have bought a load of tinned stuff, may try somethis week and see how it goes as Jackson was 2 weeks late he really should be 18 weeks on Monday.

Hope everyone is ok and getting in the festive spirit, Eeny hope the party goes ok.

Sorry forlong post

eenysugarplumfairy · 11/12/2006 09:50

cj is lokking well and seems to be gaining weight but she seems to feeds ,loads at night and im knckered otherwise she is ffine

hoppyrobin · 11/12/2006 13:46

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the info about car seat dangers, SlightlyMadSanta. I've always had to 'pad out' the seats we have used with the travel system because both my babies have been tiny, and I instinctively felt the seat was somehow 'wrong' for them at the newborn stage - the padding resulted in them lying practically flat. (I guess much like the car seat Sarah is recommending). However, I can imagine a larger newborn flopping forward if in a 'seated' position. Actually, looking at what I have currently, it seems very reclined anyway.

stumpy and bhm - I'm not doing much exercise except for the school run (10 min walk there and back) - I don't need to lose any weight as I'm quite tiny anyway and need the extra to bf, but I do have a C-section overhang that needs toning up!

eeny - well done on your party! We're having Boxing Day over at ours for a mere 7 people, and I'm so not looking forward to it. I think it's the thought of all the people crammed into our shoebox of a flat! Hope your coughs get better. Julia's got a cough and a snotty nose, poor thing.

It's my little boy's school Christmas play today - he's playing a snowflake, both me and dh are going, so that should be great!

hoppyrobin · 11/12/2006 13:47

ps happy birthday booby!

sarahSILVERbells · 11/12/2006 15:52

Well, it's happened. I've caught Molly's cold and I feel like I've been battered and then had my head stuffed with cotton wool. Am currently on those granules that come in a packet so you can tip them down your throat without a drink. Think I'll try for a early night if both kids behave (dh is on nights so I've got bed to myself! YIPPEE!!!!)

Hope everyone else OK

sarahSILVERbells · 11/12/2006 15:53

Sorry

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOOBY!!!!

BigHotMama · 11/12/2006 18:06

Hoppy how mad I thought I was the only with overhang? Is it the norm for c-sections then or just lard arses like me who had big guts before getting pg? I'm getting to see more and more of my scar now so I can tell the weight is shifting. Got fat club tongiht but tbh i've been quite naughty this week, cant resist white crusty bread...mmmm.

Get well soon Sarah x

BigHotMamaClaus · 11/12/2006 18:17

just testing

eenysugarplumfairy · 11/12/2006 18:45

Happy Late Birthday Booby!!!

~Sarah let me know if those granulas work I was curious about them. Hope you get better soon!

jingleboobs · 11/12/2006 19:04

big hot mama good luck tonite i crave bread whilst im being strict too are you loving all those healthy extras coz ur bfeeding i did

PinkTinsel · 11/12/2006 22:55

happy belated birthday booby

well caleb snatched some mashed potato from my plate yesterday and gobbled it up..... greedy bugger! so looks like he's decided to start blw now rather than 6 months, pmsl. have been frantically researching to make sure he's not going to choke himself but it looks like as long as he can pick it up, chew it and swallow it, theres no reason why he shouldn't so i gave him a bit of carrot to play with with dinner tonight but he just got cross as he couldn't figure it out i think this is going to be a slow process which suits us perfectly!
