Grin Toby! He'll have to grant the permission now, really.

Today Paul Hollywood's how to bake is 99p as the kindle daily deal. I have bought it and it has recipes for challah and crumpets! I am unreasonably pleased. Always thought Paul Hollywood was a bit of a wally but all is now forgiven.

Thanks for all the sling advice. I haven't used the ergo as a hip carry or back carry yet. Pretty sure i would strangle myself if I tried the back carry though. The ventus is much stiffer and less soft than the original so not sure how it would work.

I want one of those back carriers Felix! I had an old 90s vango one for DD that Dad picked up at a car boot sale. I used to take her to the supermarket and on the metro in it when we were in Paris. I got a lot of funny looks and always had to take DD out of it at the supermarket checkout because she kept stuffing packs of biscuits in it. Blush

How is the kitchen going nature?

Naturegirl82 · 25/06/2015 05:19

It's nearly finished altered. I should be able to give it a clean today and start putting things away so that's good. Just want it all done now!

alteredimages · 26/06/2015 00:16

Good to hear nature. You are much better than me. I am not pregnant and have someone come to clean the house every week because I am too lazy to do it myself. Grin

Registered N for full time nursery today starting in September. He was so quiet! Just wandering around looking. The place is run by a very nice Irish lady and I hope it will be good for him.

Feeling a bit shit about all the terrorist attacks yesterday, especially Tunisia. Sad I can't understand why anyone would ever want to do something like that. The security forces in Tunisia also have a lot to answer for.

There was an earthquake today and I didn't notice. The second earthquake I have failed to notice this year. DD noticed though and told me she was scared. There was a sandstorm at the time and I told her the light fitting was just rocking because there was a draught. Confused

FelixFelix · 29/06/2015 07:58

Altered its terrible isn't it. My sisters in-laws were staying in the hotel it all happened at and managed to get to safety, thank god. They got an early flight home at the weekend.

I am not looking forward to this apparent 'heat wave' this week. I hate it when it's hot! I'm hoping it's not true otherwise I might have to hibernate in the living room for a few days.

Also I am being incredibly judgey here but there's someone I know who had a baby recently. She constantly brags about baby sleeping through, designer clothes etc etc. but I've just seen that she's starting to wean her already and she's only three months! I found it quite shocking! No medical reasons to wean early either. 3 months seems so tiny ConfusedConfusedConfused

Swannykazoo · 29/06/2015 09:21

ITs awful isn't it. I just keep thinking how vulnerable you would be on a beach.

I'll cheer you all up with my PFBness. This weekend after some torrential rain, our sandpit got a bit waterlogged. Yesterday I was drying the sand with a muslin as H was getting soaked in it. And I thought I;d managed to miss out on being PFB as I was a bit slack generally.
Think I'm going to buy myself a cargobike this week Grin Grin

Oh, felix. I judge all the time. I'd definitely judge that.

alteredimages · 29/06/2015 12:32

I'd judge that too Felix. Not good for their tummies and against medical advice!

is N's new favourite song. He tries to sing along and is convinced that he can do all the dance moves. It is very funny to watch.

Prosecutor general's motorcade was targeted with a car bomb today. A couple of months ago some judges were assassinated on their way to work and DH knew most of them. His friend was on the other shift and missed it by only a couple of hours. It all feels very close to home. Sad

alteredimages · 29/06/2015 12:57

I like the look of the bakfiets puggle because of the optional rain cover. I reckon that would be a necessity in Scotland! Both bikes look great though. I have never managed to get my balance property with a baby on the back, this looks much better.

FelixFelix · 29/06/2015 13:33

Puggle Grin at drying sand with a muslin! I've missed the PFB-ness too. I think I'm a bit too laid back sometimes. I love the second one but only because it looks pretty! The first looks much more practical. We have just bought a child seat for S which means I'm being forced to take my damn road bike on holiday with us. I can't even ride it! Wish I'd got a hybrid instead.

Altered that is really scary Sad

alteredimages · 29/06/2015 14:45

The prosecutor general has died. Sounds like they suppressed the news for a while until things were under control a bit.

This is the biggest political assassination in Egypt since Sadat. Sad

alteredimages · 29/06/2015 14:53

And the bastards have released a video of them assassinating the judges in North Sinai last month. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

FelixFelix · 29/06/2015 15:12

Altered how awful Sad

GunShotResidue · 29/06/2015 20:59

altered that's horrible. Flowers to you and your DH.

DH's cousin is in Tunisia, they've decided not to come home early. There's so much terrible stuff going on at the moment. As much as I want it to stop, I selfishly worry about DH being deployed again if our government gets involved.

TobyLerone · 29/06/2015 21:00

Scary stuff, altered. Stay safe, you and yours.

FelixFelix · 29/06/2015 21:50

GSR when do you find out where you'll be moving to?

S has her first morning with the childminder tomorrow. I didn't think I'd be bothered but I'm feeling a bit awful about the fact I'll strap her in the car in the morning and she will be very upset and confused when she realises I'm not going with her Sad I know she will be fine but I wish I could explain to her what was happening!

Naturegirl82 · 30/06/2015 09:06

altered hope you're feeling ok.

Felix good luck this morning. I hope S settles in well. It may take a few trials though so even if she is upset persevere. O was upset when we first started leaving her and that was with her Gran who she knew well but she adjusted very quickly.

toby how is maude getting on?

Just plodding along here. First day of my mat leave with O all day today. Think it might be tiring with the heat but looking forward to it. Doesn't help that she spent between 2.30 and 5 awake though!Sad

TobyLerone · 30/06/2015 09:29

Good luck, S and felix!

Maude is fine, thanks, nature :) Enjoy your maternity leave.

Naturegirl82 · 30/06/2015 13:36

Just found out someone I went to school with was killed in the tunisia shootings. so sad Sad

GunShotResidue · 30/06/2015 14:09

:( nature Flowers

felix Any time from now really. Has to be at least 6 weeks beforehand, the posting ends in November but we can be moved early or late!
I hope S has had a good day!

FelixFelix · 30/06/2015 15:54

Nature how sad Sad

Thanks everyone. I was just freaking out a little bit last night and I was actually fine when she went. She pointed at me and screamed in a dramatic fashion as they drove away. Childminder said she cried for 5 minutes then was an angel all day. I'm so pleased because when I'm there she just clings to me all the time. I put her down for a nap at 1.45 and she's only just woken up Shock

GunShotResidue · 30/06/2015 18:59

That's good felix

L had a long nap today too, I woke her up after just over 2 hours. Maybe it's the heat, they want to have a siesta. It's still 30ish degrees here apparently.

Naturegirl82 · 30/06/2015 19:05

Glad S had a good day Felix

O's sleep has been all over the place today. She didn't want to nap this morning and then fell asleep at 3.30. I meant to wake her after an hour but fell asleep myself so she had 2.5 hours! No idea what time she is going to go to sleep now! Confused

alteredimages · 30/06/2015 19:14

That's so sad nature Flowers

I can understand your worries GSR but I doubt there will be ground forces involved in any UK operations here. I just want it to stop really, not too bothered how.

Glad S had a good time Felix. It must be v liberating.

MIL has been having the kids for a couple of hours most days and cooking dinner for us. It is great!

DH didn't go to the funeral in the end but is off to pay his condolences now. There has been a bomb in another suburb of Cairo and three have been killed. I think I should stop posting about news from Egypt because it isn't very cheery. Blush

I am going to be in the UK from July 19th until mid august. Anyone up for a meet?
