Thanks stunt. I've considered it many times. Pushing a double is hard work. But feel its straining my back rather the helping in a work out way. Need to get to the sling library. My local meet is once a month. I want a wrap type thing but they are so expensive.
I just need a major overhaul of my food and exercises as I'm stuck in a rut ATM. I'm a major comfort comfort and boredom eat. Not a good thing as all.

ditsygal · 06/05/2014 16:24

GT I sympathise. I lost some weight after xmas, Then it all went back on when F's sleep went to pot and so did my willpower. I am a total comfort/boredom eater and being a SAHM seems to be bad for that.
But I have just been to the supermarket and bought lots of fruit and veg and planned all my meals for the rest of this week, I am also going to start the 30day shred. I have got to sort myself out as otherwise I will just keep getting bigger and it is making me very self concious.

PurplePidjin · 06/05/2014 16:57

gte my shortie was under £30 including postage. look at lenny lamb and little frog. a decent sling will support your back but you might prefer the lumbar support of buckles.

I said yes to a playdate at my house for tomorrow pm. Eeeeek. It's a fricking pigsty :o

Thinking over my shrink appointments. I must have told her that te state of my house is a constant source of anxiety right? I mean, I moan about it on here an awful lot..

Lily311 · 06/05/2014 19:34

Just make sure you have some alcohol in pr, for the after visit ;).

Passmethecrisps · 06/05/2014 19:35

Round of applause for pr! I am already planning preparing myself for play dates to get me through the summer holidays. Good job. And re the house I am quite certain it will be nothing like it is on your head.

I am another one feeling porky gt and I do not have your reasons. I just a have a school canteen which serves tasty sausage rolls at break time.

YellowWellies · 06/05/2014 20:11

PR good skills!

GT you're a very beautiful lady and still are despite two babies so quickly in succession. I wish I looked so good!

On the subject of play dates I'm v lucky with playgroup as I've made four really good friends. Like real friends not just 'Mummy friends' i.e. pals who chat about EVERYTHING not just baby talk and who (went!) out drinking together. We see each other at playgroup twice a week and then 1-2 times a week at one of our houses / soft play / the park. Hope your play dates turn into this PR.

Pass you're always welcome for summer play dates over here. In case you miss your commute!

Today I have been squabbling with the bear on the subject of eating playdough! It's like smack to him. He was sat at my knee at the table and every time I helped his cousin with her modelling - bam he was shoving great handfuls of it in his mouth. I kept telling him "not in your mouth" "don't eat" or "for playing not eating" and "if you put it in your mouth you go down on the floor" and every time I followed through and put him on the floor as 'punishment' he had a massive wobbler! Repeat x20 (at least!!!). Talk about a battle of wills!

Passmethecrisps · 06/05/2014 20:37

Sounds familiar yw!! I have been tempted to try play dough but I suspect it would go the journey!

I love the learning to talk bit. P has been rummaging around for about an hour now. She started to whine so I went up just now. As soon as I walked in she sort of spread her hands and said "meemee?". I found meemee and said "would you like a bit of bonjela for your teeth?" And she said "yeth" followed by "byeee" when I tucked her back up.

I never really got to do playgroup buddies as lots of the people I met didn't return to work. They were lovely and many will say hi when I see them out and about but my own shyness gets in the way. There was one lady I got quite chummy with who I haven't seen since going back to work. I will defo call her. And I will defo be at yours yw!! Grin!

ChasingDaisy · 06/05/2014 21:14

I love this stage too Pass. I'm feeling pretty heartbroken at how much I am missing out on with O at the moment. One of my favourite things he does is to raise his hands, palms upturned, whilst raising his shoulders and looking around when you ask him where something is. He's got the cheekiest sense of humour and loves all the attention he gets from strangers. I took him to the park this afternoon and on the way he pointed at every single car, saying 'brm' ( we call cars 'brums') and 'an' at vans. He has mastered the ends of lots of words - 'uck' for truck and 'ish' for fish Smile

Passmethecrisps · 06/05/2014 21:42

Try not to worry about missing stuff chasing. I know what you mean but the first time you see him do things is really the first time it matters to you if that makes sense?

P learned to blow kisses in an extravagant fashion courtesy of our CM. This morning I was propelled out the door with "bye bye!" Mwah, mwah! With a kiss off each palm

BigPigLittlePig · 06/05/2014 21:44

Today we have mama Smile Smile Smile Smile

Temp of 38.1 this evening, goodness only knows why. Tomorrow we are off to see the gastro paed followed by...ikea!

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/05/2014 22:03

I am extremely lucky as I have a huge support network of good friends and family near by. I don't know how I would have coped without regular play dates and kid free wine sessions. In fact I'd have probably gone back to work!

bplp good luck with the pead trip. I look forward to an update tomorrow.

kyz Hope you are ok and that your move went well.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/05/2014 22:18

I've kind of gotten used to doing things on my own. But I know that for the girls they need a group of friends and friendly parents in their lives. I actually don't like being around people all that much. Two hours birthday party was nice for example but I was more than ready to go home at the end. I've always been like that. I have close friends but they all live a long way away.

YellowWellies · 06/05/2014 22:46

Our new words today were 'banana', 'fork' (I hope that's what he was saying anyway Hmm Shock ) and 'one more'. He didn't learn "don't eat it" which is surprising given how many times it was yelled!

GTbaby · 07/05/2014 00:41

Pr that's great. And great your doing it for the girls. I have lots of family support. But lil friends support. Also my last friend at school is leaving soon. Add to that not being there for two years its going to be so hard going back to work. Very nervous.

Pass my school do lush bacon butties I'm going to balloon when I go back, add to that Wednesday roasts and Friday fish n chips. Oh my.
