Been up to pest boy once already.... Sad Sad

Kyz · 22/04/2014 20:17

Evening :)

Moving not far from where I am now, will be very strange it just being us. Things are complicated and I don't say so much about it on the fred, tis not the place. But I will be a real grown up and everything.

grrrr flouncy that sounds annoying re: tyre and also appt :( hope the car stuff isn't too expensive

you too pikz hope it's not too much monies!

sounds like F is in little piggy mode bp :) lovely! and lovely re teddy bear too!

E's illness is progressing. Today he has little spots/blisters on the soles of his feet. DR said not hfam when we went this morning because altohugh he has spots on his face/lips/elbow bends/bottom/randomly all over and has had a cold and temp and loss of appetite he was missing the characteristic spots on palms and soles. Now he is starting to have them. Though they don't look very bad. Should I be worried?

hope everyone has a good night, i'll be heading to bed early in anticipation of tonight based on last night!

Passmethecrisps · 22/04/2014 20:31

Poor wee E kyz. How is he otherwise? Any doubt and I would call NHS 24.

I thought my day was a touch meh flouncy but yours is definitely more on the meh. Your appointment sounds frustrating in the extreme.

Does she favour the same teddy bp? P is mad for all things fluffy and will adore equally anything soft and squishy.

Are you getting special birthday treats vq?

I think p's teeth are really troubling her. She refused absolutely all dinner save for one bite of toast and one bite of banana then could barely keep her eyes open through story time. Now she is up there rummaging around and mumping. I have had a feel and she had both top incisors, a bottom one and one last first molar all coming through at once.

Oh and I rocked up to school this morning - slightly late and dripping with rain - to find the boss there with a documentary maker wanting to film me. Thankfully they will wait until Thursday. What does one wear to be filmed apart from extreme suck 'em in pants, blusher and carefully applied lippy ?

Pikz · 22/04/2014 20:46

Pass and chin up, knockers out

Kyz hope you are ok. Xxx

persepolis123 · 22/04/2014 20:47

That sounds like bliss VQ. Glad you enjoyed your day.

stunt I often think I'm pregnant just before my period. Probably wishful thinking. Hope you get the outcome you want.

kyz I would be taking him back to the doctors tomorrow or calling the out of hours if you are concerned.

We had to go to London today to get DP's visa for Turkey. Thank fuck that's sorted. Now I can actually start to look forward to it. Three weeks tomorrow.

Passmethecrisps · 22/04/2014 20:47

Grin Grin Grin!!

Love the idea of me being on the telly all serious but with my wabs out!

PetiteRaleuse · 22/04/2014 20:48

Ooh what's the documentary about pass ? Are you going to be on the telly and we'll all be able to watch it and say "we know 'er" and nod knowingly?

Poor little E kyz there's not too much you can do about hfm iirc except medicate against the pain. Detective dealt with it recently though.

Passmethecrisps · 22/04/2014 20:48

Starting to come together perse!

And your name reminds me of Persephone which I had never heard of until joining mumsnet but I love.

Passmethecrisps · 22/04/2014 20:51

It might be on the telly. I suppose it depends if it gets commissioned. It is about a condition a pupil of mine has which is extremely rare and was caused by an inoculation. I have to give an overview in dealing with the day to day of education. Fascinating stuff and it is helping the family to deal with it.

YellowWellies · 22/04/2014 21:27

Hello all - yey to thread celebs and BD season tickets and boo to HFAM, teething, punctures and doctors.

J hasn't got slapped cheek - either a throat infection that's not on his chest or a trachea irritated by reflux from teething / outgrowing his meds dose. Flouncy could J need his meds adjusting for weight gain? Just wondering if that's maybe why his sleep has gone to pot. We've upped J from 9ml twice daily to 10ml today so will see if that helps. He just can't seem to cope on less than 2mg/kg - hopefully once he's teethed it'll be easier to wean him off the omeprazole. At the mo any attempt to let him outgrow his dose (and reduce it that way) results in sleep gone to shit, sore throat, off his food and a cough as soon as he teethes or has a bug. Poor sausage Sad .

ValiumQueen · 22/04/2014 21:36

No birthday treats. I had to ask them to sing happy birthday to me this evening Angry

But, I have been given the money for BD, so a year of fun days out for the entire family, a Cath Kidston IPhone cover - genuine! Only ever had knock off ones before - a Cath Kidston Mug and tin, some more money, a Beatrix Potter figurine, and some smellies Grin Best gifts ever I may have moaned to DH that MIL and SIL always give me things I detest, so he coordinated

Passmethecrisps · 22/04/2014 21:38

I think the season ticket is an amazing present! And it means that you can sneak off during lunch to check out the meerkats!!

Love all the cath kidskin stuff as well. Have some Wine and Cake

ValiumQueen · 22/04/2014 21:50

DD2 was most put out that it was MY birthday today. She thought it would be hers again, and that she would be 5 Smile She agreed eventually, but would not allow me to wear the birthday girl badge as that was HERS!

The big gift was from my Mum Smile

PurplePidjin · 22/04/2014 21:57

Wine for all, in celebration or commiseration as appropriate

YellowWellies · 22/04/2014 22:36

Fecking cough... his cot has been tilted to an even greater 'Wall of death' type angle. No wonder he's such a stuntman. I reckon its going to be a baaaad night Sad

ChasingDaisy · 22/04/2014 22:44

Grin VQ. Awesome pressies - am glad you got spoilt Thanks

GTbaby · 23/04/2014 00:17

Ohhhh pass how cool. Wear something colourful but not bright maybe. So emerald green top under a nice fitter blazer springs to mind.

Flouncy Angry for you. Hope an app comes very soon.

Hullooooo Donna. How was bubs? Are they getting on better?

Vq -hip hip hippy birthday.

BP so cute sleeping with teddy. H has recently showed an attachment to his cellular blanket. He grabs it as soon as he is put in cot. But yesterday my heart melted... I lifted him out of cot and as I went to walk away he lent back to get his blanky then stuck his thumb in his mouth as he held it. Cute lil fella he is. Lol

StuntNun · 23/04/2014 00:18

WWYD DS2's best friend has chicken pox and is going ahead with his birthday party on Thursday. His mum reckons the spots will have scabbed over by then but is informing all the parentals just in case. Most of the other invitees have had chicken pox but DS2 hasn't. Would you let him go to the party knowing (a) he could get chicken pox, and (b) if he got it then J would probably get it too? DS1 has already had it so he would be okay.

OP posts:
Wandathewindfairy · 23/04/2014 05:45

stunt tbh I probably would. Is only the inevitable if they get it anyway. ( that is the second time I have seen the word parentals in the last 24 hours and have never really heard it used this way before)

pass yay for being on TV. Remember to put on extra slap!

Am sitting in the airport again. Waiting to get my flight to the office. Tremor.

I have a vat of coffee in front of me and have downloaded a couple of books. Scary beans. Am just going to keep my head down. Going away from the boys again so soon makes me a bit sad though.

Lily311 · 23/04/2014 05:51

Morning,

Insomnia kicked in at 3am.

stunt I think I would too.
wanda have a safe trip! hugs

Going to rhyme time today than need to tackle some admin things in the afternoon. Not very exciting but at least the sun is shining.

StuntNun · 23/04/2014 06:25

I'm showing my age Wanda it's from the film Coneheads where Dan Ackroyd's character refers to himself as a 'parental unit'. You do hear it sometimes in American TV shows.

ValiumQueen · 23/04/2014 07:21

Stunt has DS2 seen his friend in the last fortnight? If so then yes, if not then no. I personally would never knowingly infect my child. Although saying that he is around 8 iirc so you could possibly argue he is better catching it now than when he is older, but you do have J to consider also.

StuntNun · 23/04/2014 07:23

Oh yes VQ good point they saw each other on the Tuesday and the rash came out on the Friday.

YellowWellies · 23/04/2014 07:43

Tilting the cot even more - worked! Three wakings between 7.30 and 11 then he slept through til 7.20. Good boy - I'd said to DH I'd handle any wakings as he's off to Aberdeen today Smile His cough sounds much better too Smile

StuntNun · 23/04/2014 08:20

Sleep is fooking great isn't it YW? Well done J!
