I got a 1 tog travel bag in Kiddicare last week for a tenner!

Sophia the unpaid support like Homestart and the Children's Centre have been pretty good tbh, it's the people who are paid to protect R and haven't that have pissed me off Angry

Had my eyes tested today. First time in 7 years Blush and they've improved! How many more dc do I need to have to ditch the glasses?

Wine and Brew

YellowWellies · 28/03/2014 19:16

hope you're OK with this hon. My boobs aren't sore at all nor inflated or leaking and I've not BF since Wednesday morning so I think its much easier to wean at this age. Great that he's taking the koko.

I am missing him so much but am heading home tonight so will peep into his room and give him a snog while he sleeps.

I had a day shopping in Edinburgh today all on my own! Was lovely but am shattered. I feel like I'm in some weird childless Mummy bubble. Can't wait to be reunited with my limpet.

Passmethecrisps · 28/03/2014 19:55

Hello all! There is a lot going on in quicheland at the moment.

I hope all the illness passes everyone by very shortly. I blame the mild winter (at risk of sounding like my granny!).

Glad all the weaning seems to be going well as well.

I have no stories. Just Wine Cake and [crisps] to pass around.

Kyz · 28/03/2014 20:00

Hi guys

Finally able to get online to write a reply, but only going from where I last replied or else i'd probably be here all night! Things are ok here in terms of illness etc and I discovered today e has a new talent. He apparently knows all of his books. If you ask him for a book by title, he can find you the exact one. I am sure this is pretty standard but having only ever said 'can you fetch me a book' before now it shocked me that he knows them so well! Mind you we read them all a million times a day so I shouldn't be so surprised!

Happy birthday/anniversary i am not sure which as both have been mentioned, or is it both sophia! I'm sorry, I have been reading but only vaguely and I can't remember properly, I know I probably should know! Either way I hope you've had a fab day and have a fab evening too

Glad J slept well for you last night stunt

Oh yikes guys, i'm sorry to hear of all the illnesses! Sounds really awful, and really grim, I can only ever remember having a tummy bug that bad once before and I remember thinking at the time I hoped to never experience it again. Flowers to you all

ohh vq when is the interview?

aw yw sounds like you've really missed him, he'll be so pleased tomorrow when he wakes up and you're there!

I haven't much to tell either, just busy busy busy here!

Passmethecrisps · 28/03/2014 20:05

Oh Crikey yes! Thanks for reminding me kyz!

vq! You are the interview queen! Fingers crossed for you.

StuntNun · 28/03/2014 20:13

Things were hectic today so I'm just giving J his last bf now. I hope he'll cope okay without his 'mummy milk'. And I had gone >36 hours without feeding him so hopefully I'll be okay too. I just wish he would go to sleep now so I can get DS1 and DS2 to bed on time.

ValiumQueen · 28/03/2014 20:44

Interviews are 8th and 9th. Need to do presentations for both, and they are very different areas.

I appear to be able to trust my sphincters now, but my tum is still sore. No food for me until the morning.

How did you get in with the Sausage Rolls Det?

StuntNun · 28/03/2014 20:56

J will not go to sleep Confused

OP posts:
BigPigLittlePig · 28/03/2014 21:16

Wine stunt xx

ValiumQueen · 28/03/2014 21:18

J is awake and distraught. No idea what is wrong Hmm

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/03/2014 21:35

Lots of yucky illness going round the quiche Sad.

sophia If scallops are on the menu then I have them, every time. I bloody love scallops. Hope you've had a fab evening.

DH is out and boiler decides to not work. Why do these things always happen when he's not around. Fucking things.

PurplePidjin · 28/03/2014 21:38

Wine for those who can tolerate it, [water] fetched and iced and served on a silver platter by a sexy waiter/ess (delete as appropriate) for those who can't and [sleepydust] for the babies, don't you know Mummy (and Luis if you're still about) needs peace?!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/03/2014 21:41

Communal pity party called for I fancy.

I am sat with a tissue stuck up my left nostril, with the aroma of olbas oil gently wafting across the room at dh who looks a bit Hmm at my choice of accessory.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/03/2014 21:47

Medical question. How many sphincters do we have? I ask because I thought we had one but vq referred to sphincterS.

LO up and distraught. Teeth. Or worms. Or both. I hope teeth though. I'm not good with parasites.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/03/2014 21:59

Many sphincters.

Gastro-oesophageal - the bit that's faulty in lots of our LOs
Anal - the bit that's faulty for VQ and det, today at least
Sphincter of oddi - somethig near the pancreas

Bored yet?!

PurplePidjin · 28/03/2014 22:00

Erm, non-medical-slightly-pished-answer... Bladder, anus, oesophagus, intestine... Maybe more somewhere that I don't know about?

BigPigLittlePig · 28/03/2014 22:01

To clarify, my dad would refer to the lower sphincter as his clack valve Grin ie. I've got a leaky clack valve.

I'll go to bed now Blush

PurplePidjin · 28/03/2014 22:01

See, BP knows at least one I couldn't even imagine!

Wine
PurplePidjin · 28/03/2014 22:27

R (well kind of ) and I made rocky road to go in kilner jars for mothering sunday presents. I just finished off the trimmings. Yum :)

PetiteRaleuse · 28/03/2014 22:30

Now you see I only thought about the anal sphincter. Maybe that says something about me or maybe I just had a shite biology teacher.

So is sphincter just a name for contracting muscles that expel something from wherever it is? Ie poo. Wee. Food down to elsewhere?

Oh sod it. Do those of you that give birth vag ways have a sphinteral uterus?

Is pelvic floor sphincteral?

I am genuinely interested, insomniac, and cba to google.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/03/2014 22:31

What's rocky road?

PurplePidjin · 28/03/2014 22:37

Ooh, possibly PR, maybe heart valves too? AFAIK it's a round muscle that stops stuff getting out...

Rocky road is fridge cake with marshmallows. Chocolate, honey/golden syrup, butter, walnuts, mini marshmallows and crushed digestive biscuits. Easy and cheap!

Off to bed. Will pack in the morning Hmm

StuntNun · 28/03/2014 22:38

Afaik PR there are seven sphincters and they separate parts of the intestinal system so the one at the entrance to the stomach is the pyloric sphincter, there is a duodenal sphincter, the anal sphincter stops you from pooing until you're ready to. But that's from memory from years ago so Google away.

Rocky road is an American biscuit involving marshmallow and is unrelated to sphincters.

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 28/03/2014 23:13

Fascinating. And I thought I was pretty good on the digestive system.

Really will be googling.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/03/2014 23:18

There are 50+ in the human body!!! According to wiki.
