It's time to move to Post-Natal clubs.

cav what do you think of the Sirona car seat so far? I find it brilliant. So easy to install and use, the swivel is great for getting baby in and out, no more twisting yourself. Can highly recommend.

What's row your boat mother - is that some amazing wind exercise I don't know about? S seems more cheerful so thinks she's got some out.

She cracks me up - I'm watching her in her swing chair and every day she gets fixated on one spot and smiles and laughs at something, and talks to it. Anyway I had a look where she was staring and it's three screws on the side that look like a face! So she's basically chatting to a few screws. She's just so lovable and I hope she gets more intelligent with time Grin

MotherOfCleo · 25/02/2014 10:11

Haha, not quite alex,I just sit him on my lap facing me and holding his hands I tip him forward and back while singing row row row your boat Blush he loves it Grin

Bless S, that's so cute!

Cavort · 25/02/2014 10:21

Sorry to hear about baby wind issues ladies. I hope they give you a better night tonight.

Hazle I can't find a single thing I don't like about the Sirona so far and I too am loving the swivel! DH has swapped it between cars with relative ease but I wouldn't fancy attempting it myself just because it is so damn heavy. Yes, it's a bit pricey but so far I think it is money well spent and should last us until E is big enough to use a cheap booster seat.

DH agreed to Dubai last night so I have spent the morning booking us a holiday, which is a very nice feeling... I am finally going for 8 days in the sun in a month. Grin I have written a provisional list of baby stuff to buy/pack and I think we will need additional baggage... we certainly will not be travelling light! Thank goodness for British shops in the UAE so I can pop to Boots for baby supplies and don't have to take as much with us. And the bonus of no mosquitoes to worry about.

Cavort · 25/02/2014 10:34

.... oh and I almost forgot the 3/4 hour time difference (clocks go forward while we're away) which means my PITA baby will hopefully go to bed at 11pm/midnight and her ridiculous middle-of-the-night wake up which is usually around 4am should coincide with breakfast and then back to bed. Hooray!! Grin I bet it doesn't bloody work out like that

janey1234 · 25/02/2014 16:54

Yay! I'm
So jealous cavort... Where are you staying?
I was wondering if I might be able to fit a solo trip (well, with friends but no baby!) to Dubai in nov time... Have a friend out there who has invited me to stay although I think I would prefer one of the luxury hotels there . Is very very tempting...

Cavort · 25/02/2014 17:20

Janey We've got quite a good deal on a Club Room at the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort at the far end of Dubai Marina/The Walk. It's not The Madinat but it looks nice and the location is good for an evening stroll with a pushchair.

I also have a friend living in Dubai (in a JBR apartment) who I could stay with but I think I need to knock this BFing malarkey on the head before planning any baby-free trips, and I get the impression we're a while away from that with E's formula refusal. Oh well, one for the future. You should definitely go alone in November if you can though.

My Dubai friend has asked if I can get a baby night off to go to the new Pacha Dubai with her while i'm there. Bloody hell, I will be like a fish out of water in a trendy nightclub these days! DH says I can go as long as i'm not sick when I get in he knows me so well. Blush

BlearyeyedLol · 25/02/2014 21:01

Cav L's passport came in less than 2 weeks so I think you have plenty of time.
I'm looking at booking Spain for Easter but nothing after that. We've always gone on exotic holidays so Europe is a new thing for us but as a first with a baby it's not that bad. We are also going for 3 days to center parks in June!!! I've never been a fan of that idea but let's see.

Cavort · 25/02/2014 22:03

That's good news then Lol. Fingers crossed E's arrives quickly as well. We are also hoping to go to Spain in August as I think the shortest flight possible with a baby is much better. I have never been to Centre Parcs but everyone I know who has been has absolutely raved about it and I should bloody well think so for the price so I'm sure you'll have a great time.

So, on our previous visit to Dubai we were too pissed to care obviously didn't have a baby to consider and therefore didn't too pay too much attention to the availability of baby supplies.

Much to my surprise it seems that in the mall which is 20 minutes walk from our hotel there is Mothercare, Mamas & Papas, Boots, Waitrose, Pumpkin Patch, Adams Kids, M&Co and The Early Learning Centre as well as a state of the art 10,000 sq ft play centre for children aged 6 months to 6 years. And that's without even going to the 2 big main malls! Suffice to say I am not worried about forgetting anything. Hmmm, you can't beat travelling the world and embracing foreign culture can you?

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/02/2014 01:24

Omg alex that is the cutest thing I've heard all week!!

BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 08:12

As our nights currently go, last night was a fairly good one. L went down at 6:30 then was up at 10 for about 2 hours, happily playing and not whinging, then up at 2:30,5:30 and now at 7:30. All in her cot, all sorted with a quick feed. So I'm feeling quite refreshed!
Off to try baby sensory class today. What's people's views on it?
Also has anyone heard about monkey music?? Some of my playgroup friends have been raving about it!
And finally, chicken pox is all over the neighbourhood. Playgroup, swimming and neighbours. At least 10 babies and kids have it. How long till L catches it I wonder?

Alexandra6 · 26/02/2014 08:39

Eek I am dreading S catching her first proper cold yet alone chicken pox Shock

We have our first baby sensory class today too! Some of my NCT girls go to the same class and they said it's great.

I can't complain about S's sleep last night - asleep by 7.30pm on me and put in her sleepyhead by 8pm, after bath/massage/sleeping bag/feed (routine fans give me a high five), then woke for feeds at 12.20am and 4.40am, finally waking up just after 7 when DH got up. I went to bed at 10pm so not a bad night for me either, I got over 6 hours.

Alexandra6 · 26/02/2014 08:41

Just realised in my old life 6 hours sleep would be crap! How standards change...

MotherOfCleo · 26/02/2014 08:49

I've booked the sensory room at the community centre for an hour before today's post natal class. Should have 6 friends an their 6 babies coming an I'm looking forward to it. Grin

H slept 11.30-5.30....thank god, as I was starting to suffer after being up every 45 minutes the night before. He then went back down for another hour and a half Grin I feel so much better.

My MiL brought round the jumparoo she bought H for christmas that was finally delivered this week and he loves it. I'm hoping it will help tire him out and encourage him to sleep at night....fx.

Alexandra6 · 26/02/2014 10:09

I can't wait to use S's jumparoo! She's too small so I think I need to wait until 4 months (does anyone know?!)

HazleNutt · 26/02/2014 11:02

Doc said my thyroid medication dosage was too high and I think I'm having anxiety issues now. At least I hope that's what it is, otherwise there's something to worry about. For 2 nights have had tremors, nausea, general feeling of doom - not fun, let me tell you. Those are all symptoms of hyperthyroidism though, so hopefully is just that.

Jumperoos are indeed great, V loves his. Only trouble for us is that it's on 2nd height setting and already getting too low, so he might grow out of it before he gets tired. I don't remember any specific age limit, just that baby should be able to hold her head up without assistance and bear weight on her legs.

Oh and also, I have just signed up for a conference in London in May, so would love to meet some berry babies, if anybody happens to be available!

BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 14:40

Oh hazle I hope you feel better soon.
Def up for meeting you in May!!! Let us know when you will come and we can put it in the diary as we seem to be busier than anyone else on earth!!!!

janey1234 · 26/02/2014 16:37

Hazle yaaaay! I will def come and meet you! Smile Perhaps we can convince cavort to come down south too! Wink

janey1234 · 26/02/2014 16:38

Oh. Sorry. In my excitement forgot about the first part of your post. Also hope you're feeling better soon, sounds awful Sad

BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 16:49

Yesssss please cavort too!!!!!!

Cavort · 26/02/2014 17:05

Awww shucks you guys, i'm flattered. I suspect my presence would only lead to disappointment though. Wink I will have to see what date it is and the logistics of getting ourselves down to the big smoke. Smile

Hazle I hope it's your thyroid meds and can be easily sorted. That does not sound like fun.

My baby is broken again. Sad After a week of much better sleeping it all went south again last night. E was up pretty much constantly from 1-6am and then got up at 8. She's hardly napped today as well. I am beyond tired. I hope there's another pesky tooth on the way by way of an explanation.

HazleNutt · 26/02/2014 17:45

I'll be there on 18th-20th May, but have conference on 19-20. So 18 afternoon, that's a Sunday, would be the best.

OP posts:
BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 17:47

CatsCantFlyFast · 26/02/2014 17:48
