It's time to move to Post-Natal clubs.

No V won't be coming - too much trouble to organise all the dog sitting etc if DH would have to come too. And I can't take him to the conference really he'd be bored to death
I'm in Lancaster hotel, Hyde park.

Yay! Putting the 18th in the diary too. How exciting. Another bed for you here cavort too, if you fancy staying with a random stranger in rough old east london Wink

Maybe you could persuade your DH that you should both go away with E for a lovely break in London that weekend, then you can disappear off drinking wine with us lot all afternoon Wink

janey1234 · 26/02/2014 18:56

And merk - you'll have a baby by then! Wowzers. Not sure if any of us will have any tips, but we can at least sympathise if you too have a broken one Wink

BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 18:58

That's an amazing plan janey!
Why don't you surprise him with hotel and dinner in London on Saturday???
Then as a coincidence you find out we are meeting up on that Sunday!!!!
Or you have a stranger bed in East London and one in west London to choose from Grin

Cavort · 26/02/2014 20:52

Sooooo, having just persuaded DH on a nice little family break to Dubai for some quality time together, I then dropped it on him that while we're there I might leave him holding the baby for a night and go out clubbing with my mate, and now you want me to follow that by talking him into a weekend break in London only for him to find out that I am meeting you lot for a few cheeky wines? Grin I am not really sure how that would be received. Well, I suppose he did just go on a snowboarding holiday without me. Grin I will have to pick my moment and ask him mid blow job when he's in a good mood.

Lol I don't think E sleeps any worse than any other of our broken babies. It's probably just that when we have a good night I don't say anything and when we have a bad one I moan like hell! Last night was truely awful but the night before that she slept 19.45-06.30 with just one short feed at 01.30. It really is a complete lottery with her.

I had a coil fitted today and in stark contrast to the last time where it was so unbelievably painful I was knocked sick this time it was honesty no worse than a smear. Yet more evidence that things down there are not what they used to be. Hmm

BlearyeyedLol · 26/02/2014 21:18

Cav have you heard about steak and BJ dayGrinGrinGrin? If not google it!
It's on 14/3 so that's your chance!!!
My nights have also been shit tbh but I'm tired of repeating myself with the complaining!!!
Good luck to everyone tonight. See you on the other side Grin

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/02/2014 22:37

Ooh hoping to come too!

Alexandra6 · 27/02/2014 04:50

I'm hoping I can make 18th too!

I'm def not telling my DH about steak and blow job day, I don't eat meat! (I mean that in reference to the steak haha!) Poor guy Grin

Really glad E has good nights like the one the night before last, that sounds great.

Hazle is your thyroid under or over active? My mum was diagnosed with under yesterday and will need meds.

Oh and baby sensory was brilliant! S had big smiles during the puppet show and when the bubbles landed on her, was so cute. She ignored me for all the signing songs though - too nosey and fixated on one of my NCT friends and her baby.

HazleNutt · 27/02/2014 07:45

Yay to big May berry meet up!

alex First I was overactive and was feeling generally fine, just a bit shaky. Then went underactive and was feeling dreadful, sluggish and sleepy. Had my thyroid removed a couple of years ago, so I'm now on replacement hormones.
The dosage was increased in pregnancy and I should have gone down again, but I figured that oh, there's no harm in taking a little more for a few months. Apparently I was wrong and being overactive can have some very unpleasant side effects. Feeling better already, but I will certainly keep a closer eye on the levels in the future.

By the way, how are finger-foods working out for you? V eats his purees and yogurts nicely now (and is less and less interested in milk) but he doesn't get finger-foods really, mostly sucks on them a little and throws to dogs. Dogs don't mind, of course. But I'm wondering if I should insist more with those? Then again, all kids grow out of eating purees eventually..

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 27/02/2014 15:26

Funnily enough I was just at lunch with a couple of friends and one said her baby won't eat purées, only finger foods! (My phone changed that to ginger foods, that would be weird).

Not to be all judgey or anything but just saw a woman wearing a baby in a baby sling and smoking, looked really wrong!

I've also stuffed my face again today, kept telling myself I have swimming later for exercise but really that's just holding S in the water! Wink

Cavort · 27/02/2014 15:55

Same here with finger foods really Hazle. She really likes playing with foods and sucking on them but I think very little actually goes down her throat. Embarrassingly, the only finger food she eats a decent amount of are chips where she sucks all the mashed potato out from the inside, and the Organix sticks which are just basically crisps. Blush It's a bit strange that when I feed her a banana she will bite bits off it, chew and then swallow, but when I give her a banana to hold herself she just sucks it a bit and then throws it on the floor. I'm not too worried though, i'm sure she'll get it eventually.

janey1234 · 27/02/2014 17:25

M is the same too Hazle. He loves the idea of feeding himself, but if you do give him some toast or something he stores it in his cheeks for ages like a hamster, then inevitably chokes and gags on it then spits it out as a soggy mess. Lovely.

Alex - wait until S weighs as much as M - swimming is fricking exhausting then!! Plus I think we are all a bit less careful with them now so properly chuck them around. Am sure it is really good exercise now!

MotherOfCleo · 27/02/2014 18:03

we had swimming today too, I finding it knackering on the arms as H is a bit of a chunk now Wink

Also looked at another nursery and loved it, think this is the one. Grin Now just need my boss to agree to my part time hours. Confused

Alexandra6 · 27/02/2014 18:35

Ah S loved swimming today, no hiccups so she did two tricky underwater swims and didn't even cry, good work S!

MotherOfCleo · 28/02/2014 08:57

Well done S Grin H did 2 underwater swims too, looked a bit confused but no tears and confusion quickly became smiles Grin

HazleNutt · 28/02/2014 14:18

And how are your babies sleeping? V is flip-flopping all over his bed now and often ends up across it, complaining loudly, or falls asleep on his tummy - but it should be ok by now I believe? Besides, what can I do, can't sit next to him and flip him back every time.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/02/2014 14:20

She keeps finding her way to the OP of the cot and chattering once she reaches there.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/02/2014 14:20

Top not OP!

BlearyeyedLol · 28/02/2014 17:40

Sleep continues to be shit over here. Waking up every 3 hours means a good night. At least her daily naps are better (prob because she is knackered) and I am sleeping with her at every opportunity!
Re finger foods L is not keen on a spoon and generally doesn't like to e fed. She does eat a fair bit though. Today she had cracker with houmus and ate quite a lot!
On other news we've had the worst poo incident since she was born. There was enough outside the nappy to fill two moreConfused! Took her to be washed in the sink only to find poo on the carpet in her room/landing/my room, as well as bathroom floor! Then on her foot which she proceeded to lick before I could clean it up!!! And all over my cardigan, trousers and socks. All in all I've had a lovely afternoon!!! Please god don't let her do it when I'm out with you lot in a shopping centre!!!! I might have to come to someone's house for a shower!!!!

MotherOfCleo · 28/02/2014 19:29

wow lol thats impressive Shock

I put H down on his right hand side and often wake up to find him laying on his left side.....little minx!

HazleNutt · 28/02/2014 19:34

better out than in lol Grin

V is cutting another tooth, gum red and swollen. He refused to eat from his usual plastic spoon and cried every time it got close. But gobbled everything down when I used the silicone one.

Sleep is still hit and miss here. A random mix of shit nights and better nights without any possible explanation as to why some nights are different to others. Confused Last night E slept 7.30-02.00 and then 02.20-07.00 so the law of averages means that tonight is probably going to be a shocker.

Am I the only one whose baby lies completely still while asleep? She has only ever slept on her back (so far) and makes no attempt to turn on to her side or front. She's not really a big fan of rolling over while awake either though.

janey1234 · 28/02/2014 21:19

Lol we had one of those last week. Required a full outfit change and a shower for him, partial outfit change for me.

Lovely day today. Champagne and smoked salmon sandwich for lunch (£10 in Westfield fellow london meet up berries Wink) then Alex and I were having such a lovely time we decided to carry it on in the pub all afternoon! Bad mums Blush

janey1234 · 28/02/2014 21:22

Oh and M usually rolls straight onto his front then lies there all night. Occasionally he has restless night which have resulted in him turning around 180degrees in his sleep?!
