Ha cupcakes we are still using the tardis my old fiesta. I refuse to use credit so we are stuck trying to save towards something bigger.

Ivy seems to think the washing machine is a sort of tv and sits watching it whilst i wash up wierd child Loving the random things they take possession of :)

Tugstonia · 22/03/2014 10:53

Morning all, just catching up with the thread as haven't been on in a while...

Hope everyone and their babes are OK :)

We have the BJCM too and it is fab. Easy to manoeuvre, easy to fold. Only annoying thing is the straps which seem to get twisted v easily but that's probably true of many prams or maybe it's just my cackhandedness.

DD slept through from 7pm til 6am for the first time in literally months last night. DP got home from a week-long business trip yesterday so maybe that was the secret... I however woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep so am still bloody knackered. DP is off on a 4 day stag do next week so I'll be on my lonesome again :( Going to see my sister by the seaside next Sat though so looking forward to that.

I'm rambling. Have a good weekend everyone.

JuniperTisane · 22/03/2014 15:58

Just back from getting Dans first shoes. To say he's unimpressed is an understatement. Massive strop in the shop and he won't have them on his feet now. Oh well. £32 for some ornamental shoes is about par for the course I suppose Hmm...

Yay for MiniTugs sleeping, Tugs. 4 day stag? Shock

Anyway.

lollipoppi · 22/03/2014 17:47

Yay on the sleep mini tugs!
Where's he going in the stag?

Oh dear juniper Hmm going to take dd next week and am defo buying some with buckles!

DD has become all little miss independent, will not let me feed her at all! Just had to clean sausage casserole and mash off my walls and windows

JuniperTisane · 22/03/2014 18:10

He's allowed us to put one shoe on him and he won't walk, only Daddy is allowed to carry him about. But its a start. Smile

LetThereBeCupcakes · 22/03/2014 19:25

Jun DS walked like a penguin when we first got his shoes! He's happy to have them on now though - as soon as I get them he sits himself down and holds up his foot! He loves going outside and I think he's worked out shoes = outside.

DS hasn't been well today - fever, grouchy, off his food. Hoping it's just a tooth on the way, bless him.

newbie6 · 22/03/2014 22:26

Hi everyone,

Just catching up, hope the poorly babies are feeling better!

My DS is walking!! Sooo proud of him, he looks so pleased with himself, bless him! Got him his first shoes last weekend and he is so cute in them, he doesn't seem to mind them but at first he seemed to wonder what the extra weight was :)

X

Angielka · 23/03/2014 20:15

juniper Molly also had a tantrum in the shop when we bought her shoes, and screamed every time we tried to put them on her feet for what felt like ages, but could have been just a few days... she now does exactly what cupcakes said - she brings her shoes to me, sits down and looks at me expectantly. Dan'll get there Grin.

Sick sick sick - both girls and both DH and I. Sad Still a friend with a tiny newborn has been in hospital for 3 days with him. Could be worse!

fourlegstwolegs · 23/03/2014 21:31

Hi, so I have seen ex DP and he reiterated that he doesn't love me. So I don't think there is going to be any miraculous change of heart (as it were). He took Felix off for the day and brought him back on time etc, so it wasn't too bad.

Felix's favourite items are the dustpan brush, a draught excluder. His favourite pastime is putting balls in the bath or the washing machine! He also uses the washing machine as a TV (probably as I have turned into my mother and I don't let him watch any actual TV!).

glorious · 24/03/2014 06:52

Hi fourlegs , was just coming on to see how you were. I'm glad that the day worked out ok. Hope you did something nice with your free time.

Dreadful sleep last night. Tried to get some ibuprofen in for teething and got quite frustrated at which point DH came down and burst into tears himself. I know this is horrible but I felt so cross with him because I don't have the option of breaking down, I have to get on with it, and yet more demands on me are not what I need. I was nice to him though Sad

CreepyCrawly · 24/03/2014 12:23

Thanks for you fourlegs

That sounds so hard on you glorious. Like you say, we just get on with it don't we?

Hoping to get to the vets today, my dog is bleeding from his willy which is a bit worrying :(

Angielka · 24/03/2014 18:29

Oh fourlegs one day at a time. Sad DD1 used to watch the washing machine too - I also listened to my mum and made sure she didn't catch sight of a tv show until she was 2. Molly doesn't see it much either - tbh she doesn't pay it much attention even if its on but standards have slipped, oh yes

glorious that's so frustrating for you Sad I'm glad you didn't take it out on DH in a way, but I hope you let him know later how it made you feel. He may not have clicked otherwise. Molly's been clinging to me all day. Teeth are so overrated.

Oh God creepy! Hope your poor dog's ok!

CreepyCrawly · 24/03/2014 19:36

His prostrate is enlarged. Had a chemical castration for now, if that makes things better by Friday, he'll be having the chop. If not, he'll have scans to see if it's something more sinister. Great timing the week after my car broke down and then both our cars' MOTs were due.

Hope everyone's had a good day!

Lora1982 · 24/03/2014 23:11

Poor doggy:( mums dofs spending the night in the vets too something gastricky wrong with the poor soul.

Dexters getting over yet another cold im hoping all this means he'll have an amazing immune system later in life. He's getting extremely toddlery aswell so we have to let him walk around to ease tantrums now at the sodding nct sale ffs I think im getting the hang of this parenting lark now wooo

lollipoppi · 25/03/2014 07:34

Fourlegs Thanks and Wine !
Have you told your friends yet? I hope your getting lots of support

Glorious, how was sleep last night?

Lora and creepy hope the poorly dogs are ok

DD has been utterly miserable for days, I know there is a tooth coming through but just seen that one of her ears is really gunky this morning, does that mean an ear infection?

JuniperTisane · 25/03/2014 08:53

Lolli Dan had a gunky ear a few weeks ago. Looked like snot. Swab showed infection and after antibiotics cleared it up we found a burst eardrum. The miserableness could be earache. The ear and nose are all linked and sometimes the mucus in the nose during a cold can build up behind the eardrum causing pressure and pain. Eventually if the pressure gets too much the eardrum bursts and the fluid leaks out of the ear, the pain usually goes after that.

Can you get her seen by a gp today?

lollipoppi · 25/03/2014 09:15

Poor dan juniper Hmm
It's not snotty-like (vom) it's quite dry and very dark brown coloured
She does have a little bit of a cold too.

JuniperTisane · 25/03/2014 10:03

Yeah, snotty ears are gross. Still, I would get her ears checked though since she's been miserable as well.

glorious · 25/03/2014 10:54

I've had the cold related issue juniper mentions recently and it's really sore, plus my hearing went funny and everyone sounded like daleks. The advice I read was to see the GP if fluid came from the ear or general snot went brown.

I have sort of told DH how I felt but he's not one to share his emotions and is currently depressed so I do need to be gentle. We're going to have another go at night weaning over the weekend with DH going in while I stay totally away. But it makes me cry even thinking about it so not sure how it'll work. DH thinks he'll be fine but he has never dealt with her crying for more than 10 minutes, and that's in the day. I just don't think he has the first idea how hard it will be.

Lora1982 · 25/03/2014 22:12

Wooo won 1st prize at nct sale raffle. I chose venture so we can get a nice pic of all of us ... im a photog so I can do dexter on his own and I'll tell them this when they give me the hard sell. Almost dissapointed I didn't go with the free term of tiny talk cos we go anyway but still, I win nothing so this is great news!

fourlegstwolegs · 25/03/2014 22:27

Hi - I've told one or two friends. It's still really hard. One of them brought me some flowers and chocolates today which was really sweet :)

I'm sorry about the ill babies (or should I say toddlers now?).

Does anyone else's have really dry, red cheeks that almost look scaly? They look awful when he wakes up in the morning, and worse again if he's a bit warm or a bit cold. I have been putting vaseline on - any suggestions?

fourlegstwolegs · 25/03/2014 22:28

ps congrats Lora. I'd love some proper photos of me and Felix.

Lora1982 · 25/03/2014 23:20

Ive been putting aqueous cream on him fourlegs it seems to help. It only appears when he has a cold though

lollipoppi · 26/03/2014 08:06

That's nice fourlegs, maybe you should treat yourself to some pictures of you and Felix

DD has a bit of dry skin I picked up some cream from the chemist and it cleared it up nicely, I think it was called epaderm (sp)?

meringue33 · 26/03/2014 12:25

Fourlegs I have this problem myself!

LO not so much.

Hints and tips greatly appreciated.
