Do beef instead of turkey. Or lamb. And do it in the slow cooker with Aunt Bessie's spuds and those tiny carrots that don't need peeling (chantenay?)

BigPigLittlePig · 18/12/2013 19:02

Stunt YANBU. Yet again. Not sure I have ever heard of you BU in fact. I would be inclined to cook what you have - either they will eat it or they won't. Or miss the flight Wink.

I wouldn't say I hated Christmas at my ILs last year, but it was so un-Christmassy. Just felt like any other day - TV on the whole time, even during dinner, which was brief with minimal chat, then they just sat in front of the tv all afternoon. Christmas at my DPs is always such a family day, with long lazy boozy lunches, presents spread out through the day, playing games, etc. I hope I can bring some of that to our childrens Christmas.

Thanks for the offers of, er, spare bits. Wish it was that simple. Being this underweight has fucked up my immune system, internal thermometer, and has probably contributed to a bit of a shitty sex drive too Blush.

Glad it's sweary Wednesday....DHs main present which I ordered 2 weeks ago hasn't arrived, so contacted the seller to be told it should have done, so there must have been a problem, but they are sold out now so can only refund. Fucking wankbadgery cunt-balls. So shall have to brave town at the weekend to get him...something!? Fuck.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 18/12/2013 19:08

Have you had your thyroid checked. bp ?

BigPigLittlePig · 18/12/2013 19:12

Hmm. No, not in the past few years sophia. But don't feel like I have an overactive thyroid IYSWIM? Have the symptoms of underactive but with the weight of overactive hahaha. Think it's all just a combo of dairy-free bf for 5 months (although had fab 3 months of gorging in the early days lol), serious sleep deprivation, busy job.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/12/2013 19:29

It is hailing here Confused. In preference to getting cold and wet, the puppy has pissed under the Christmas tree.

TheDetective · 18/12/2013 19:32

The dog just shit all over the living room. She did the same in the hall. 3 hours ago.

And pissed on the stairs.

I think it's safe to say she doesn't like the cat.

Passmethecrisps · 18/12/2013 19:33

Evening.

stunt I feel for you. I think dictating what is to be cooked it the height of rudeness.

I could offer up half a stone quite happily if anyone fancies?

Overheard in class of 14 year olds today "calpol is beast!" For those uninitiated in Fifeisms this means that calpol is smashing! I said "my baby loves calpol" and totally unabashed said teens responded with "Aye. 'Cause it's beast!"

Passmethecrisps · 18/12/2013 19:34

Oh dear.

ReindeerIsles · 18/12/2013 20:04

Following on from last night's chat, I have just ordered £130 worth of dresses from Dorothy Perkins not usually a fan of their stuff but have been eyeing up some of their dresses for a while for £40 delivered in their sale using various promo codes Grin

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 18/12/2013 20:20

No wAy isles how do you do it. I am so shit at barginous shopping. Is its sales I just go to more exlensi ecp, aces and okay regular prices not extortionate.

Please please you lot help me in 2014 not spend any money be better with my finances. In all areas. I really struggle to cut my food shopping below 125, how how how do you do it for £50. And I do do leftovers, I rarely throw anything away.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 18/12/2013 20:21

That's what happens when you have a glass of Irish cream in one hand.

Translate

When it is sales I go to more expensive places and get stuff for regular prices.

ReindeerIsles · 18/12/2013 20:23

Sophia my mum is a much better bargain hunter. I am just a chancer and always google promo codes before buying anything GrinBlush

Kyz · 18/12/2013 20:33

Evening all! I fear I have missed too much to do a proper catch up :(

Everyone ok? Mad busy as usual!

YellowWellies · 18/12/2013 20:39

Isles how do you do it? I do the voucher thing too but they normally exclude sale stuff. Which voucher sites do you recommend? You must have ordered nearly every sale dress to get £130 worth!!! Smile Epic skillz Grin . Have you ordered in your current size or what you'd like to be post SW. I never know what to do in that situation. Confused I agree on Dottie Perkins this year - it's always felt a bit frumpy but I really liked lots of their frocks this year. Sadly not a single one appears to be BF friendly Envy . Am tempted by the stripey shift dress as a future preggers dress if it's stretchy. It'd be distinctly unflattering of my belly when not preggers....

Right finish off cards, wrapping DHs birthday pressies, redo an hour's work I lost this afternoon after Xcel crashed Angry and watching 24 Hours in A&E beckons.

ditsygal · 18/12/2013 20:50

Spurred on by all this clothes talk I went to asda today and actually tried on some clothes - I got a couple of knitted dresses and a pair of jeans. All actually quite flattering so I am pleased. They are only cheapies so I don't mind buying them to fit me now and hopefully within a few months after xmas I will have lost the weight and they will no longer fit but that's fine!

PurplePidjin · 18/12/2013 21:06

YW i just feed in my jammies or strip these days - benefits of two feeds a day!

Kyz · 18/12/2013 21:08

Ahh clothes talk. Am fat, look shite, SW taking a back burner over xmas, am sticking to it as best as I can but I like xmas, mainly for the food, and intend on enjoying it. I will think about looking less shite after the nice food bit has all gone away!

Brill deal isles! I am rubbish at bargain hunting and I forget about voucher codes!

ReindeerIsles · 18/12/2013 21:09

I am currently swithering between a 14 and 16 (wahhh I was a 8/10 top 10/12 bottom!!! Sad ) so have ordered a 14. Most of them SHOULD be okay even if I do slim to a 12 again (ha ha ha...)

Will link later x

VQ · 18/12/2013 21:10

Hiding behind a name change. Hope you recognise me Wink

Meeting went well thank goodness. I think so anyway. No doubt I will be feeling paranoid by the morning as I did last time.

I had another MN Secret Santa gift arrive today and I am just gob smacked by the kindness of strangers. There was a voucher, and three gifts, all carefully chosen for the littlies.

My husband is even more convinced I am having an affair Grin

I am willing to donate 7 stone and plan to start doing so in the new year. DD2 delighted me no end tonight saying very loudly 'you have a big fat tummy mummy, and big fat boobies, and a big fat bottom, and a big neck' She still loves me though.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/12/2013 21:11

I used to be a size 6 bottom, 10 top. Am now a 10 bottom and 14/16 top.

YellowWellies · 18/12/2013 21:18

I used to be an 8 am now an 11 all over and sometimes a size 12 ass in jeans. Anyone else stuck pissing irritatingly between sizes seemingly permanently? Envy

Pidj he's down to 1-2 during the day but sods law he'd want fed on the train and I'm not inflicting a post-preggers striptease of my wobblies on the innocent Scottish public Grin . How is R today?

Hello Q of the V glad your meeting went well xx

PetiteRaleuse · 18/12/2013 21:18

That's lovely vq whoever you are. Those of you getting mn ss , don't forget to go on the thank you thread unlike the person I know received my gift over a week ago. Ok it was a shite gift but would love a thank you

VQ · 18/12/2013 21:23

I used to be a size 8 and I could swap clothes with my 8yo niece. She did not like that one bit. I remember shopping for a bra and a size AA there was air between nip and cloth.

I hate being big, but when I was skinny I still thought I was fat. I was not naturally slim though. I just did not eat and exercised for hours each day. My periods stopped and my hair fell out. There is a huge difference between being naturally slender and like I was.

I looked my best at 5 stone less than I am now. I will get there again, as that is a healthy weight for me. I would be a 14. I could maintain that. But I need sleep.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/12/2013 21:24

VQ if it makes you feel better, dsds homework the other week was "find the following 3D shapes around your house"...for sphere, she chuckled and said "daddys tummy" Grin

VQ · 18/12/2013 21:27

I did not realise I had two santas so I have thanked both on the thread and also messaged them both. It is very confusing as the numbers seem to blur. I guess numbers are the only way to do it. There are lots on the thread who have not NC, which spoils it a bit.

I am sure your recipient was delighted with her gift PR, and there may well be a good reason why she has not thanked you yet.
