pidj ?

I have been 'doing' bedtime for 2 hours. They are both still wide awake. I have a mountain of chores and work to do. I also spent £70 on fans to keep S cool. They are ace. I bet the heat wave is over within a few days Grin

Donnadoon · 17/07/2013 20:19

madame how'd it go today with the HV?

PurplePidjin · 17/07/2013 20:21

Yes, epi pen Wink

She has a milk allergy, we were making cake pops for her youngest's birthday and she licked chocolate off her hand by accident. Next time, she's playing with R and I'm doing the eating!

Fucking terrifying. I never underestimated any of you dealing with allergies but that really brought it home.

Cuntarsing hcps who ignore babies in pain Angry

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:25

Hallo fuck faces!

That reminds me. I saw a thread which asked for the rudest friendly greeting. I didn't post but I did recall the way one of my aunties greeted me many years ago. "Oh hullo! How's yer auld cunt?" I was a bit stunned but then responded "well, it's fine thank you Aunty passme"

So PP what's happening?

You guys down south have really been catching the heat. BP busses in the heat are awful!

I have a baggy blind as well. I just let mine hang down.

Shite day PR? Hope you are in bed sleeping.

How's the tongue you filthy woman VQ?

I wondered if I might have thrush in her mouth today. Why would she get thrush? Her tongue looked a bit furry and she keeps poking it out her mouth. She has been struggling to eat with a spoon preferring to suck straight out of the pouch Blush. She also seems to get upset mid meal and starts sort of gurning and making noises. I thought she was finished but if I give her finger food and some water she usually carries on. Hmm.

She also seems to have rejected my cooking completely. No idea why. Another thing that makes me think she has a sore mouth. The pouches as very much smoother than the purées I have made.

Don't mind the pouches for a wee while but they are expensive.

Erm. Been a bit meh today. Need to give myself a good shake. Ended up sticking p in the car and going to see the meerkats. She thought the animals were okay but preferred a Glaswegian family. She gets so overexcited by some people it is quite bizarre. Usually people are lovely and enjoy her attention but it can be quite overbearing!

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 20:25

Evening all :) gosh it's hot!!

How was work pikz

Fuck skates sound awesome! Wish I had a set!

Thanks stunt that's useful info re your ds2 to make me worry a little less :)

Glad you had a good night last night stacks sounds like you really needed it :)

Quiche babies are getting yummy grubs by the sound of it, chasing e would love living at your house with that for tea!

Stabbings, pp?

Didn't get photos done as the cunting shop was busy and not doing pics until 12 but e has lunch at 12 so I couldn't hang about. Fuckbadgers. Going tomorrow now instead. Saw hv today, e is 22lbs 14 and well on his way to 98th centile. The hv seemed nice and said I'm not to go back for a month and see how he goes on 3 bottles and don't worry about dropping to two. She said the minimum of formula up to 1 is 17oz which confused me but never mind.

E had his 3 bottles today and has gone to bed ok. Time will tell I guess but all 3 were drained so 24oz plus meals (and he ate all 3 today too, just not much at breakfast)

Am bolloxed. Is too fucking hot!

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:29

Oo cross post PP. Yikeserramma! That must have been tres intense. Is there any nasty effect from the epipen? Like shaking or anything? Just interested. I remember a boy at school found an epipen and stabbed himself in the finger "just to see what would happen". His finger went completely white and he lost all feeling. He ended up going to A&E where I believe he was lolled at.

fruitpastilles · 17/07/2013 20:37

I wondered why e's pics weren't on Facebook kyz I've been looking out for them! Make sure you put them on tomorrow, I love looking at his long lashes.

I am downstairs and have the baby monitor with me, dp is asleep in our room and he is snoring so loud I can hear him over the monitor that is in S's room....... Might be a night on the settee for me.

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:38

That sounds great kyz! You were in my head again today! P refused brekkie and was a total faff at lunch but wouldn't take much of her bottles either. I keep repeating that I should follow her lead!

Cripes this nomming malarchy is hard!

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 20:38

Sounds really scary pp! Glad all is well though :)

pass that cracked me up! Never heard that as a greeting lol, can't imagine why....

Furry tongue for wee p? Is it white? Are you meh because of p's eating or other things? Remember e went funny and I panicked and he's doing ever so well again now :) he eats my cooking sometimes and pouches sometimes and he's spoon fed sometimes and has finger foods sometimes too. He goes through less drastic phases now than previous ones but he still does it. P will pick back up again, probably when it's not so warm :)

Speaking of eating, I am sat eating crisps cursing myself for being fat and still eating them because they are scrummy. Fail.

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 20:44

Aww shucks fruit I will :) everyone always comments on his lashes, they are ever so long! I am waiting for one to fall out one day and I will save it stuck to a white bit of paper Blush

It is hard pass and its hot, perhaps she's just toooo hot? Has she drank anything other than her milk? Sometimes e gets really thirsty and downs a load of water. I am sure she will pick back up, e often does a couple of days where he takes less food/milk/both and the next couple of days are where he is ravenous. Trust her and just make sure she is taking what she needs, as long as everything is offered she should do :)

fruitpastilles · 17/07/2013 20:45

Just to add while we are on food chat, what baby led weaning recipe book is the one you all use? S seems to prefer finger foods at the moment and I'm really struggling with what to give her.

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:46

Ah kyz I do love a wee crisp! I bought the hairy dieters cook book in an attempt to shed the last weight before I go back to work. 1 stone. 3 weeks. In theory that should be piss easy. Sadly I have become a fat bastard.

Don't know, Kyz. The nomming doesn't help. The clock is ticking before going back to work and that makes me all wibblesome. I am looking forward to going back but I am very worried about the workload. I will have 3 new subjects to teach on my timetable, my best pal has left and everything has changed. I said to DH that I wish we could be 3 months down the line - it is not the fact of returning to work and P going to the CM but the transition. DH has just 5 weeks left of his PhD as well so it couldn't be worse timing.

I think there is just too much in my brain.

ChasingDaisy · 17/07/2013 20:49

Gosh pp, sounds very scary. Is she ok now? I have only ever used an epipen during first aid training and I remember being surprised by the force needed.

Oscar has coped with the heat admirably so far but seems to be struggling tonight. I've had to put him to bed in just a nappy. Is that ok? Confused I will add a vest or grobag at first wake up. He just woke up screaming Sad Gave calpol and he stopped straight away. How fast does that stuff work?!

fruitpastilles · 17/07/2013 20:50

I went back to weight watchers today, just nommed some grapes, I'd rather have had some crisps though!

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:51

fruit the lovely horsey uploaded a BLW book onto the Facebook page. I downloaded it somewhere. If I can find it I will reupload. It was a free one which someone had compiled. It was fab.

You are right kyz. P has really taken to drinking water so that will be filling up her tummy. In jocklandshire it isn't that hot. It is warm certainly but not HOT! P's room is 24 degrees currently. When we went out earlier my car said it was 22 degrees.

fruitpastilles · 17/07/2013 20:52

Ahh brilliant pass that'd be great thanks Smile

S's room is currently 29 Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 17/07/2013 20:54

chasing it works within 20 minutes but I have also witnessed the immediate calm after administering. I suspect your cuddles are enough to chill him out until the actual pai killer kicks in. I asked my GP about that when P needed a dose to drink her milk but would drink instantly. Cuddles, coating the sore throat or similar. Maybe just coincidence.

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 20:54

Um I think it's the blw cookbook by gill rapely that I use, it's in e's room and I don't want to wake him but I can check tomorrow.

pass I don't like transitions either, I like to know what's what and for things to stay the same. That's why I like routine so much and struggled to accept that dropping milk feeds is ok and encouraging solids to a point is fine. I struggled with going to uni then was beside myself when it finished and starting work was awful for me and worse when they let me go because I was pregnant but once the transition bit is over I'm sure you'll be fine :) you are the super dooper pass and you can do it, with style too :) once you've realised it's all doable and p is fine with the cm and you can cope with the workload and you settle back in hopefully you'll feel much better and very much less meh

ValiumQueen · 17/07/2013 21:01

Good evening all. Just a brief note as I am in bed. J went down at 8 having managed all of 2oz from his bedtime bottle. He was not for waking so I would bet good money I will be up again around 11pm. Grr.

fruitpastilles · 17/07/2013 21:03

vq try and get a couple of hours in now then just in case he does, I really hope he doesn't though.

ValiumQueen · 17/07/2013 21:05

Calpol coats the throat, tastes quite nice, and is a distraction.

ValiumQueen · 17/07/2013 21:05

I will fruit. Night night x

BigPigLittlePig · 17/07/2013 21:06

Yes yes pass, what kyz said. Before my first return to work (!) it felt like every minute was being counted down, as one less minute with F. It almost felt as though she was going to be taken away from me, never to be seen again. Of course, now I'm back at work, it is actually fine. She is as happy as larry in her nursery, it is nice to stretch that one brain cell at work, and have some adult chit chat, and it is nicest of all to pick her up and have the best couple of smiley hours before bedtime.

Kyz I think the 17oz thing relates to vitamins (although happy to be corrected) - 17oz and above, and they are definitely getting all the vitamins they need. Anything below and you may need to consider a multivitamin, although as E has no allergies/intolerances, and eats well, he would be ok I imagine?

It was 30 degrees here all afternoon. Still 25 outside now, no idea about inside. F is asleep in just a babygro, no covers, as she has been for nearly a week now. She thinks it's just fab, as she can wriggle all over the place. Even though she can't crawl, she can get from feet-to-foot to head-to-top position in record time.

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 21:07

Night vq hope you have a good night

Kyzordz · 17/07/2013 21:11

Thanks bplp, it's just I thought it was 20oz? If its 17 I have more room and less wobbling and worrying to do :)

Decided it was far too unhealthy to sit and eat so many crisps. So I decided on all butter shortbread instead. Distinct lack of arse twatting self control!!! Fucksticks/skates and bollocks with bells on.
