As we have all our gorgeous babies now, welcome aboad the 5th Gemini bus.

Drinks and previously banned foods supplied in bulk, Car seats installed, slings and prams at the ready, as we head into parenthood, and all the excitement, and sleepless nights our little ones will bring along the way.

pear - the perils of MN! Grin

This morning DH brought DS1 down for breakfast & while 'getting breakfast' he also emptied the draining board & dishwasher. V helpful but he'd listened when I said I put DS1 straight in his highchair while getting breakfast so poor DS1 was stuck sitting in his chair for ages before any food appeared! I've told him he's not allowed to do any housework until DS1 is napping... So he's taken DS1 with him to collect the washing & is getting frustrated because the 21mo doesn't want to stand nicely while he fetches things!

FrussoHathor · 27/07/2013 09:57

We use the tommy tippie ones with fast flow teats with extra holes. Trouble is ds will empty to bottle and the want boob as well greedy piggy

bringonthetrumpets · 27/07/2013 13:53

Hehe the boob one is funny! I'm very curious to know if it actually gets the baby to suckle like they do on the breast....

So, now that I said lip ties were rare, I read some interesting not scientific as it was on twitter that people are starting to see a LOT more of lip and tongue ties. There was also a mention of them just being snipped with a lazer and that cuts down the healing time.

That's awesome that kitten is nearly sleeping all the way through. So nice for you! M did pretty well last night. I don't know what time she woke up at, but it was cool out last night so I brought her in bed with me and snuggled. She's outgrowing her tiny cloth nappies I have to put all of the tiny clothes and nappies away already!

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2013 14:44

Pear all the cool mums give children lollys for breckfast don't you know Wink
Frus thanks for the boob bottle, the sad thing is although it looks abit wrong I would so try it lol
Agnu washing is one thing I can get dd to help with, say you need help with the peggies, they love putting them in the basket or handing them out lol

peardrop2 · 27/07/2013 15:10

Hello rain!! I've missed you so much!

Right I'm going to buy this crazy boob bottle...decision made.

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2013 15:29

Which one pear?? The first which had the skin coloured boob or the second which actually looks like a boob?? Lol I want the boob one too although I'd never dear use it in public

FrussoHathor · 27/07/2013 15:53

I want the boob one!
Actually I'll leave for you lovely ladies to try. Then buy If it works. Wink
I'm all skinted out on washable breast pads that I'm currently soaking through, stuffing over supply

peardrop2 · 27/07/2013 16:06

Buying mimijumi. I don't think you can buy the second one in the UK otherwise I'd get them both lol It's time to get serious! I'll have the Avent bottle that I brought last week but can't be bothered to try because I know it's going to be a no, the latex NUK and mimijumi...all filled up with breast milk given by DH. Let the experiments begin!!

peardrop2 · 27/07/2013 16:06

You can all secretly smugly laugh at me when all 3 fail Shock Ever the optimist!

peardrop2 · 27/07/2013 16:25

Frus ~ I feel guilty about all the unused breast pads sitting in my cupboard! Will I leak when I'm weaning baby pear off the boob? Probably not as I guess your body quickly adapts!

FrussoHathor · 27/07/2013 17:13

Nope pear. If you don't leak you won't at weaning. I didn't leak with dd2. making up for it now

Librarina · 27/07/2013 18:42

So, my bleb has healed while on the same day N has decided to refuse her bottle (Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature) still, I'd rather my boobs work but I want her to do both!

Still, she properly smiled today. A real, happy at the world, full of milk, loves her Mummy smile!

And....I've Did Stuff with DH. Not ALL the stuff, but enough stuff to know that I still work. Best of all was she woke up once I was done so I didn't have to do him! (Lazy Wifey, I am!!)

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2013 18:43

Pear I'm not laughing at your experiments, I'm waiting to see if any work so I can buy it too lol
I wish I didn't leak, that cost me 1amd a half hours sleep this morning when I had to get up change bras and put the shells to work, I had pammy boobs for sure!

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2013 19:22

Smart wife lib Wink
What is it with our bottle refusing babies?!
I've just given kitten hers and she didn't reject it but again seemed to be feeding for ages and when sleeve done after coaxing etc etc it seems she's only had an ounce again FFs! What's going on? I put like 5 extra holes in the dam thing

FrussoHathor · 27/07/2013 22:30

Well since the boy has done his grumble-bum routine again this evening, I'm hoping the odds are in my favour for a stretch of sleep.
i'm not holding out much hope since he's slept more than usual today.

I'd love to know why I've got major leakage issue today. They seem to be on constant drip, I feel like a tap. perhaps the seal is broken or they need a new washer?

FrussoHathor · 28/07/2013 06:55

Pah. Sleep is overrated.

peardrop2 · 28/07/2013 07:22

Frus I take it sleep was limited last night then Wink

FrussoHathor · 28/07/2013 10:52

Ds woke up a lot. I thought I'd had more sleep, but every time I looked at the time it was only an hour later.

peardrop2 · 28/07/2013 13:28

Impossible to get anything done today with a tired koala stuck to me! Cuddles on the couch it is!

FrussoHathor · 28/07/2013 14:28

Cuddles on couch sounds like a plan.

Ds was a good boy this morning and slept whilst we took dds out to park.
Poor little boy can have all the cuddles he wants a long as the dds stay quiet and calm and can refrain from fighting and stressing us both out.

bringonthetrumpets · 28/07/2013 15:53

Lol lib! I should try that....dh is exhibiting more pawing behaviour as of late . Nooooo thankyou. Downtown is closed until further notice.

The children are crawling the walls today. Heaven help us.

Sorry about the long night frus Sad

peardrop2 · 28/07/2013 21:52

OK so I've changed my mind. Well I'm torn! Do I go for Mimijumi? The boob shape plastic that's brown or Adiri the soft looking one that feels more like a boob? Adiri is more expensive (£20) and Mimijumi is £14. But I'm thinking the soft boob surely stands a better chance? Please vote, A or M?

peardrop2 · 28/07/2013 21:56

From reading the 1 review on Adiri it sounds like its more like a training bottle, like a step in between breast and a normal bottle because its not that hard wearing. I guess it its made out of silicone it could burst upon washing. Maybe this is the answer to have something in between?

FrussoHathor · 28/07/2013 22:15

Would be medical grade silicone, which is quite strong. I wouldn't stick bottles in a dishwasher, but I reckon they'd last in a normal wash.
That would be the one I'd go for. Mainly for the soft boob feel. If baby pear is anything like ds, pats, pokes and holds on to boob whilst feeding a boob replica may be easier to convince them.

I don't know about it being a training bottle, as they do 3 different sizes.

FrussoHathor · 28/07/2013 22:41

I love co-sleeping, just because I have a snuggley ds snuggle up to me, head resting on my drooped boob. He just kind of fits. I could sing Aerosmith songs 🎶 stay awake just to watch him sleeping. Aren't babies adorable when they're sleeping.
