As we have all our gorgeous babies now, welcome aboad the 5th Gemini bus.

Drinks and previously banned foods supplied in bulk, Car seats installed, slings and prams at the ready, as we head into parenthood, and all the excitement, and sleepless nights our little ones will bring along the way.

66p difference

I don't think I'm going to get the same amount of sleep tonight. Baby Pear is stirring. It's just too hot and he went to bed very very cross Hmm

peardrop2 · 17/07/2013 22:43

When I close my eyes all I can hear is baby pear crying (nobody is actually crying). Does anyone else have this problem? It's so annoying! Also happens when I'm in the shower which is even more annoying as I can't see if he really is crying or if it's in my head Hmm

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 17/07/2013 23:56

I don't have it with ds pear I have it with dd2, I hear her fussing at night but when i check she's soundo.

And talking of baby crying its time for rivers. Ds isn't hungry he's just stopped feeding. I thought it was empty because he was fussing. Clearly not.

bring what do you mean nappies in your bra isn't sexy? It's the height of allure Wink
And YAY for baby smiles.

Hello all! I'm AGnu, the g-nicest work of g-nature in the zoo. I'm g-not a camel or a kangaroo, nor am I in the least like that dreadful hartebeest. Oh, g-no, g-no, g-no, I'm AGnu!

Grin

I may also have finally got round to NC-ing! Only took me 5.5weeks to lose the bump! Wink

Wink

DS2 went 8 hours between feeds again, but that only translated to 3 hours sleep for me!

peardrop2 · 18/07/2013 05:25

Why have you changed your name? Confused Blush

peardrop2 · 18/07/2013 05:29

DS did 6hours between the first feed in the night and then 3 hours. He only slept 6hrs of that though. Still we're getting there...slowly!

kittykatsforever · 18/07/2013 07:10

Well Ive not had the best night either Hmm dd fed all day yesterday never had a good chunk of sleep as was woken with poos and hic ups and just generally seemed to want to feed (heat?) that transferred to last night where she was unsettled and woke at 1:15 then again at 4:45 then at 6:15 HmmI thought I'd atleast get a lie in but no!
Dd1 has then insisted I do not feed baby a that I take her for brek brek and daddy get baby a! Not mummy no

kittykatsforever · 18/07/2013 07:21

Oh and it's jab day Hmm

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/07/2013 07:47

I have a screaming baby, he's been screaming every time he's woken since 10pm. Think he was over heating. Seems to be okay for now.

Oh this weather is melting us all HmmWhen's it going to stop so we can return to some sort of normality. Must be so hard for all of you who have more then one to cope with!

Kitty ~ it's jab day for us too Hmm

AGnu · 18/07/2013 09:59

pear it's supposed to drop a few degrees at the weekend. Hopefully it'll be enough to make life bearable again but still be nice weather! I NC-ed for a couple of reasons - my previous name referred to my pregnancy & had numbers in it which are frowned upon by some on MN & I'm a bit desperate to be 'cool' Blush Hmm & it's a good idea to NC occasionally to make yourself less traceable & reduce the risk of being outed!

DS2 let me get another 3.5 hours so hopefully I'll be able to function until DS1 goes down for a nap & I can snooze too! I'm now relatively sure that DS1 is waking in the night due to the heat & playing quietly for a while which is why he's then sleeping late. It's a good thing all our usual groups have stopped for summer so we have no real need for a proper routine!

DS2 seems to have dropped his 11pm feed so I expressed before bed as I don't want to lose that supply - I'll use that as a phantom feed for milk bank donations. Somehow I'm still engorged & dripping this morning! I even put a breast shell in overnight to ease it but it was full-on gushing within seconds of DS2 latching on! He was obviously hungry but managed to get everything he needed in 9 minutes instead of the usual 12-14!

We've still not had a letter about our 6-week check & he's 6 weeks on Sunday! I might use it as an excuse to get out & pop down the surgery to prod them.

Oh, & one more thing... Anyone who's having issues with sensitive nips or blocked ducts should check their bra size. A few days ago I was sore almost all the time for various reasons but suddenly it's all fine now that I've got my new bra! Sorry you had a bad experience at JL pear. Did they at least manage to get you into a comfortable bra?

I'll stop waffling/essay-writing now! Blush

kittykatsforever · 18/07/2013 12:15

Jojo don't know if your gp is the same as ours but you have to make your own 6wk check and there's I think has changed to between 7-10, we got our letter at 7wks anyway

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/07/2013 12:30

Agnu ds had a 8wk check on same day as jabs (mum has the 6wk) the go sent ours through.

I'm refusing to go out today (bar school run) so between getting love and smiles from ds, who must be feelin better after his scream night, I'm sorting out baby clothes and washing uv protection in my pashminas.

JoJo don't worry I have bad luck in every fitting department :-( I'm going to complain to customer service this time.

peardrop2 · 18/07/2013 12:43

Kitty ~ how did the jabs go?

AGnu · 18/07/2013 13:51

We got his jabs letter through today & have to make an appointment for when he's 8 weeks. HV seemed to think we should've had a letter already & be having an appointment at 6 weeks! I'm v confused! DH is supposed to be calling them for me I hate phones! to clarify & point out that DS2's name is not 'Baby' like they put on the letter & that we did give them his name when we registered him with them so there's no reason for them to not be using it! Hmm

Lorelei353 · 18/07/2013 14:24

I don't think I'll get a letter. My HV just gave me info of when check ups and jabs were due.
In any case my GP combines the mother's 6 week check with baby's 8 week check and jabs in one big appointment. The Thurs morning clinic only opened its calendar for booking three weeks in advance when I went for antenatal check ups there and hv told me it would be the same for postnatal appts. So I rang yesterday to make appt for three weeks time and was to,call the postnatal slots were full! When I asked how that was possible they said the three week thing doesn't apply to postnatal check Confused

Anyway they've emailed the doctor to see of she'll 'fit me in' but she's not back until next week so will find out then.

kittykatsforever · 18/07/2013 14:51

Agnu our jabs letter was addresses to Megan?? Who the f is Megan we wondered, not our dd anyway so goodness knows where they got that name from!
I also hate phones lol how funny!
Pear, jabs were ok but I hate hate it, poor little babies! How was baby pear?
Lor- how frustrating!

bringonthetrumpets · 18/07/2013 15:08

Right 9 am and the boys are driving me batty. Already have a headache from telling them to STOP TOUCHING THE BABY, she's f'ing SLEEPING (I really wanted to say F* b/c I've had to repeat myself at least 4x per child).

....and DH never did the dishes last night (I cooked, he was supposed to clean up) and it's making me really crabby b/c I keep having to look at them but it's a mess and I really want to just make him do it! He had plenty of time last night whilst watching Sopranos! . Today feels hard. Must be hormonal b/c I feel so crabbY!

Sad for all of you who are dealing with hot and bothered babies!

peardrop2 · 18/07/2013 15:59

Kitty ~ not good. I've heard him scream but not like this Hmm I don't think he's well. I've sent DH out to get Calpol. I'll also check his temperature when he gets back Sad

kittykatsforever · 18/07/2013 16:10

Poor baby pear! I was lucky with dd1 she was always ok but calpol is great stuff, if in doubt a dose of that should sooth him
Bring- I really feel for you I was desperate for a nap yesterday but as soon as I got them both to sleep my dsis descended with her 2 then went swimming and left me with nephew so 3 under 3!! It was witching hour so dd2 was crying non stop and I had her attached to a boob while trying to make spaghetti for the other 2, dh was welcomed home from work like my saviour!
Today after bad night thought yes and I'd got them both to sleep closed my eyes and 10 mins later my dad descends to tar mac the end of my drive, no warning ( he's like that) so no nap again and instead of the respite of dd1 2hr nap she's only had 1 and woken up crabby HmmI've just had enough, like you just sick of bloody repeating myself

bringonthetrumpets · 18/07/2013 16:19

Oh pear it's so heartbreaking when they are so upset after jabs! I assure you, (unfortunately) it's normal for them to cry for a few hours afterwards. Calpol should definitely help him feel better. I feel for him, but I also feel for you because it's SO HARD to hear them cry like that and to try everything to help them feel better. Lots of cuddles and feeding. Ds1 was totally ok after jabs, Ds2 screamed for hours and hours after his first dose. We actually decided to delay his next boosters for a few months because his reaction was SO bad the first time. I'm really really nervous about M getting hers in a few weeks because of how bad Ds2 was. I need to go research which ones are the absolute necessary for a tiny baby in regards to the severity of the disease and which ones we could potentially hold off until she's older. I have a love/hate relationship with vaccines and it's one of the hardest parenting decisions we've had to make!

Kitty I'm so glad I can come on here and wallow with you! Must be in the air today.

peardrop2 · 18/07/2013 16:48

Thanks bring Thanks appreciate your reassurance! Calpol seems to have calmed him as he's modded off on my shoulder Sad I'm now wondering what lies ahead of me tonight...probably best not to think about it!!
