Welcome Aprilites Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I got DS to eat lasagne yesterday by denying there was any cheese in the sauce (told him it was just flour and milk) and calling it "Pasta & Meat" instead of Lasagne. DH mentioned the proper name halfway through but DS had already eaten a good half of it by then. I feel a little guilty that I was so euphoric that I got one over on a 5year old Grin

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 24/03/2014 09:58

How did the interview go Regaining? I hope it was good news and you spent the weekend celebrating!

RegainingUnconsciousness · 24/03/2014 16:48

Oh, yes, I got the job! Bit of an odd one really, I'm not unhappy where I am, but it's time for a change. And the new place seems a bit more... together!

And science week is over. And I'm counting the days till yr11 finish. Oh, downhill to summer!

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 24/03/2014 18:12

Whoop! Congratulations! Wine Sometimes it's just time for a change isn't it. Well done you anyway!

RegainingUnconsciousness · 24/03/2014 19:16

Thanks! Grin

Kittycatcat · 28/03/2014 17:40

Whoop congratulations WineWineWine

RegainingUnconsciousness · 28/03/2014 20:55

F is 3 today! It was a normal work day, of course. Off out with a friend tomorrow (no party!).

For info: bubble machine went down a treat!

NomDeClavier · 29/03/2014 09:03

Oh my goodness! 3 years old... Scary.

Congratulations on the new job, btw Grin

So I need advice ladies. Has anyone else's previously happy and sociable child turned into a monster who pushes and pinches and hits? I don't know if it's sibling jealousy but I am at my absolute word end. It started at preschool and nursery and now he's pushing and hitting me at home, and he hit his sister yesterday. What do I do about it?!

GlaikitFizzog · 29/03/2014 13:43

Yes! B has become a bit punchy, but it's usually out of frustration at being told no or not being able to do something for himself (putting on his shoes for example). No idea how to stop it though.

We a potty training today! So far nothing in te potty but a wee and a poo out of it Hmm

Stickers and brides have been purchased, but don't seem to be working. Wish us luck!

GlaikitFizzog · 29/03/2014 13:51

Scrap that, we have a wee in the potty! I repeat a wee in the potty! Much fuss has been made, sticker given!

NomDeClavier · 29/03/2014 14:39

Stickers and brides!

But woohoo for a wee!

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 29/03/2014 15:55

Are you saving the bride for a number two Fizz? Wink

Can't believe the Aprilites have started turning three. Yikes! Still no idea about possible birthday presents here. Need to get my thinking cap on.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 30/03/2014 12:23

I think I'm going to do a springtime name change. I'll pop back and let you know.

13Stitches · 30/03/2014 18:51

shh, it's me Grin

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 30/03/2014 19:23

Noted Wink

Hope you've all had good Mothers Days Smile

13Stitches · 30/03/2014 19:25

Just seen ecuse's other thread. Hugs for her here too. x

Kittycatcat · 30/03/2014 22:02

Can someone link me re ecuse? What's happened?

Kittycatcat · 30/03/2014 22:05

Found.

Daisy17 · 31/03/2014 08:30

Me too. Xxx ecuse. Thanks Thanks

Fizz, we have wees under control but poos......oh God......glad we have a leather sofa......his are so loose too, always have been. Am thinking of drastically reducing his fruit juice intake (drinks water at nursery, refuses it at home. ...) Anyone got any wise advice?!

Daisy17 · 31/03/2014 08:31

Though I really do think offering him a bride would be a bit mediaeval.....! Wink Grin Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 31/03/2014 08:54

I have returned the brides, they were mail ordered not good enough for my son Wink

Wees seem to be consistent, both poos have been in his pants but we missed the cues.

I was on the receiving end of the head butt equivalent of an upper cut to my nose yesterday. God it hurt. And today I'm sneezing blood clots!

We are going to venture out today to the post office, between wees obviously!

GlaikitFizzog · 31/03/2014 08:55

Oh and we have water-juice here! Water with the tiniest splash of what ever carton is open in the fridge. As a treat he gets it straight up on the rocks,!

ecuse · 31/03/2014 13:26

Thanks you lot for finding me; you're lovely. Have had v. painful cramps (like early labour pains, coming and going like contractions) and light bleeding sinve yesterday. So I assume miscarriage but waiting to have it confirmed. Bit of an annoying morning being passed from pillar to post. GP said to call antenatal clinic. They told me to go to Early Pregnancy Unit via A&E. Just been seen by a GP in A&E who called it "threatened miscarriage" and referred to EPU for a viability scan. But they have no slots till Thurdsay so for now have been told to "lie down" and to come back in to A&E if I start bleeding heavily. Not sure what the point of that rigmarole was and why my GP couldn't have just booked me in directly without me clogging up A&E but, hey ho.

GreenFirefly · 31/03/2014 16:24

oh ecuse, I hope it all turns into a scarey pregnancy thing and not miscarriage (haven't seen your other thread).

Our boiler has gone kaput Sad Sad it must have known we were talking about replacing it. We're going to get the full heating system done so all radiators, floorboards up etc. lots of money and chaos. probably going to be done in a couple of weeks so no point spending money on the old boiler. so I'm grateful the weather is a bit warmer and we've got 2 open fires and a toddler who still doesn't like baths much and we can get away with once or twice a week. same for baby A. the kettle is doing overtime for washing up.

It's lovely and sunny here. we got M a slide for her birthday, so what are we doing this afternoon? A mammoth session of octonauts, in fact the same episode about 6 times so far.... I'm off to chop carrots for tea to escape. Confused Confused

NomDeClavier · 31/03/2014 17:15

Sending you big, big hugs and virtual chocolate, ecuse. Take care of yourself.

How utterly pants of the boiler, firefly. But I suppose that it could be much worse and if you're getting all the heating done anyway soon then you'll cope. At least it didn't happen in September!

You never know, Daisy, brides may work. Russian or Thai?
