{{Fizz}}

If you feel that there is something up with B then go back to your GP and ask what your next options are. Ask them what they think the cause is, then how long you should expect symptoms for. Sometimes asking these questions makes them think.

I can only imagine how tough the work/home balance is. Don't be mad at yourself, nobody can be everything to everyone all of the time x

Hugs Fizz.

Yes, stay off with your boy tomorrow, take him back to the doc and be stubborn awkward insistent. And stay off with him next week if you have to. Don't feel guilty about work, they're grown ups, not sick toddlers. They should be able to see that too!

With drops, I read on here to get them to lie on their back with eyes closed. Put a drop in the inside corner of the eye and then when they open their eyes the drop goes in. Helped by weird & wonderful creatures momentarily appearing in the garden ("LOOK! Is that a unicorn?! Oh no, it's gone") it works for F.

Weetabix and custard is probably fairly ok nutritionally. Protein in the custard (and fat, sugar and calcium etc) and weetabix is good carbohydrate and usually fortified with some vitamins. Don't worry about nutrition for a little while yet. If that's what he'll eat, let him eat it.

Thanks Brew and more hugs.

Morning

I got a bit stressed last nigh, sorry about that. We have had so little sleep this last week. Last night got worse I think we finally got to sleep around 3. B the insisted on sleeping with his head up my nose Hmm. Dh got up and went to work. I came down stairs to find he had put the sheets on to wash, but had stapped so much in the machine, duvet pillow bedding and towels, that non of it was washed properly! I may have wept again. If he were here I my had bludgeoned him to death with the steam mop, but luckily for him he wasn't.

Have I mentioned I have accidentally blue hair??

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 21/02/2014 18:22

Oh dear Fizz. I hope today has been a better day? Is B showing any signs of improvement? A week of being sick does seem like a long time for anybody. Hope that he's on the mend. In the meantime, pick your poison Cake or Wine. Or both - it is the weekend after all!

How blue are we talking with the old hair? A bit of a blue rinse or full on smurf? Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 22/02/2014 10:15

Blue hair thread with pics

B is back all bouncy, but he was like that earlier in the week and crashed again! I don't know anymore!

NomDeClavier · 22/02/2014 10:23

Oh yuck fizz we had that. Doc did nothing but it did clear up eventually. I hate vom with a passion.

Sorry I dropped off the radar. Things are a tad more settled now though! Word to the wise - don't combine new baby and starting school. You think it will give you time with the new one etc but actually it just exponentially increases your stress levels!

RegainingUnconsciousness · 22/02/2014 10:27

Glad B has perked up. Not sure what to make of the blue hair.

I've got a sore neck (slept on the spare bed after decorating our bedroom - fumes would have been better), a headache, eczema round my eyes and now a cold sore too. It's the end of half term, I'm supposed to be refreshed and renewed.

Boo and bum

GlaikitFizzog · 22/02/2014 10:35

You can say it's awful RU! It is awful! Bloody stupid of me to even consider it!

GlaikitFizzog · 22/02/2014 10:36

Boo and bum too, for all your ailments!

NomDeClavier · 22/02/2014 11:29

I think the last blue hair looks good! Blue hair is funky!

GlaikitFizzog · 22/02/2014 11:44

Check again Nom, results from this mornings hair disaster now posted!

NomDeClavier · 22/02/2014 14:39

It looks like you did it on purpose at least. But if you don't like it then :(

Drink Wine to make it better!

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 22/02/2014 15:12

Sorry Fizz but I had to laugh at the succession of glum faces in the blue hair photos. You look increasingly fed up! As Nom says, it does look like it's meant to be blue rather than an accidental blue rinse. I think you're just going to have to front it out for the next two weeks and pretend it's just how you wanted it. On a more positive note, I do like your specs a lot!

Starting to get fed up of being up the duff. I feel like I've got a blinking bowling ball between my legs at the moment. I saw the midwife on Thursday and was not impressed when she informed me that they don't do inductions until you're T+12. There could still be another 3 weeks to go!

RegainingUnconsciousness · 22/02/2014 17:20

Bowling ball fanjo has to be encouraging though?

And uncomfortable and awkward of course. In fact sod positivity and have sympathy instead!

GreenFirefly · 22/02/2014 19:50

Hello all. You dropped off threads I'm and I kept forgetting to check in. Not too much to report here. Baby A is now 6 months and a bit and we started weaning - time has flown by with her. She seems to be really enjoying food, especially finger food; doesn't seem as keen on pouches of puree but melon and toast are popular.

Fizz, I quite like the blue. I think more blue in the ends would look cool... or maybe purple - I have an unopened pot of Directions plum which I could send you (I've become old and boring and don't have time to dye my hair now. And M would say "not like it" as she says about most things). Let me know if you want me to send it. Otherwise it's going on ebay.

Hope it happens for you soon 20th. My friend is also due any day and is fed up. She's getting a sweep on Monday - can you ask for one? Maybe that might get things going? Shopping in Tesco seemed to start things off both times for another friend Hmm. Not sure what set me off in labour but I did seem to get a fast moving cold that day which made me go to bed early, then disappeared when my waters went Confused

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/02/2014 12:35

Can your hairdresser give you any advice over the phone Fizz? Fwiw I love the blue.

6 months already firefly?!? Wowzers!

Not long now 20th. Your lo will really be here before you know it. Keep calm and carry on gestating.

Good to hear things have settled down Nom. It takes a while to get into a new rhythm doesn't it.

OP posts:
NomDeClavier · 23/02/2014 15:18

ILTMI I want that on a mug 'keep calm and carry on gestating' would the the best present for every pregnant woman out there.

20th in a way I really envy you, bowling ball fanjo and all. A is only 2,5 months and I really want another!

Yes, it definitely takes time to find your feet and there are still data I feel like I'm drowning. Not helped by the frequently absent DH, a week long houseguest (ugh) and M's ability to get his toys out but not to tidy them up. Any ideas forgetting him to tidy?

ecuse · 24/02/2014 13:01

We have a boring old 'good tidy-er' sticker here. Effectiveness is hit and miss.

Fizz - I think MORE BLUE is the answer. Blue hair is awesome! How's the vom today?

This is my first month of properly TTC and I ovulated yesterday and DTD last night. It's distractingly exciting. I know it's very unlikely to happen first month but I'm itching to know whether I'm conceiving AS WE SPEAK.

Quite jealous of 20th and those with tinies now Smile

GlaikitFizzog · 24/02/2014 13:58

Today am super mum

The house is less messy than it was when I got up, I've prepped dinner, played trains and made banana muffins. Plus a neighbour is popping in for coffee in about 10 minutes!

I'm just finishing off a tesco shop and then I'll have completed my must do today list!

No vom since my melt down. B has colour back in his cheeks and is eating me out of house and home (see tesco shop on to do list).

Oh and I finished my woolly hugs squares, just need to parcel up and post!

GlaikitFizzog · 24/02/2014 13:59

My hair so still blue though

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 24/02/2014 14:42

Yes but blue hair is totally superhero Fizz!

Still no sign of any action here, although I have had a burst of energy and appear to finally be nesting. Now if I could only motivate myself to pack my hospital bag...Hmm

Very exciting Ecuse - we can all join you in your two week wait!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/02/2014 16:46

Lol @ AS WE SPEAK. that really made me chuckle, and you never know ecuse......

I love those sorts of days Fizz, it makes you feel über organised and on top of everything.

If there is a way to get your dc to tidy up, then I haven't found it. Although ds2 improved at pre school as they have tidy up time. He will do it on request, but never spontaneously. Ds3 is a bloody nightmare

'could you just tidy your cars please ds?',
'no', and walks off.
End of discussion.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 24/02/2014 21:21

So excited for ecuse and 20th!

I'd like to be TTC now, but it's not time yet! I've got my eye on a job that should be coming up soon, but moving would put me back a year in terms of maternity entitlement. But, it'd be worth it for all the benefits it would bring.

My sore neck has now extended to both sides. But my gammy eyes have cleared up a bit!

Just booked my birthday trip out too! (New Wes Anderson film on Sunday! Grin )

RegainingUnconsciousness · 24/02/2014 21:22

Oh, F's got a new phrase: "I'm a bit busy at the moment" for use any time you'd like him to do something, including general conversation.

TwentiethCenturyGirl · 26/02/2014 19:17

DD also regularly tells me that she's 'too busy Mummy' to do anything that I ask of her. Who knew that being a toddler was so demanding?

Well, the bowling ball fanjo has eased up and despite my best efforts to symptom spot, there doesn't appear to be any sign of impending labour here. I'm going to be epically late again, I know it. Grrrrrh...
