Thought I'd take the liberty of starting a new thread since the last one filled. So mark your places, get comfy and prepare for a few sleepless nights!

In particular we think of Empress and little Sam - hoping and praying he's coming home! :)

too hope the referral is useful. For what it's worth, I wouldn't wake her if she seems happy between feeds.

Jo1984uk · 11/06/2013 21:21

I too found the little angels asda nappies good.. Especially at night as they are really absorbent.

We had a good day today, went to bumps and babes this afternoon.. She is just starting to notice other babies which I find so sweet.

Am finding she is getting more and more 'squirmy' while feeding in the evening.. She has learnt to pull my clothes as well as my hair!!

She has just fallen asleep after a feed. However we had 4 failed transfer attempts before she finally fell asleep last night so we'll see Smile

HadALittleFaithBaby · 11/06/2013 22:12

jo Faithlet has become very grabby in the last few days. Need to start offering the blanket toys we've got so its not my top or worst, my boob she grabs!

Well I left her with DH and went for a power walk for half an hour (gearing up to running soon!) and she was really unsettled! Cried in the bath, refused the bottle! He somehow rocked her to sleep - she went down at 6.45 but stirred again by 7.05. Did settle by 8.30 after some gaviscon though so not as bad as anticipated given she's had her jabs. I was able to get up and finish our thank you cards and watch a Dr Who with DH!

Hope everyone has a good night.

Morning everyone x well H managed 10pm-6am between bottles and actually slept 10.45pm-5.45am so I hope it continues tho I'm prepared he might not always do that!

Taking him to early weeks group this morning so will get him weighed again (was 10lb12oz on June 3rd)

Hope everyone had a good night! Grin

Today is 1 year since one of hubby's sisters passed away (she was only 24 and had Rett syndrome) so all the family are going to the grave later and the little ones will be letting balloons off. Quite bittersweet as we found out I was pregnant only a couple months after she passed and it was still so raw. But as MiL says H was the best thing to come out of a horrid year xxx

usernamegoeshere · 12/06/2013 08:59

I hope you have as nice a day as possible under circumstances trish

I also can recommend Asda little angel nappies, although OH always moans they are hard to put on.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 12/06/2013 12:28

Thinking of you today Trish.

Faithlet slept from 8.15 to 5.50! Shock course now I'm worrying she's going too long between feeds but she's wake if she's hungry, right? She feeds every 2/3 hours in the day and still clusters in the evening. You never stop worrying do you?!

Little lady has finally poo'd, thank goodness. Slept 1 til 5.30 which is good :)

Hope your day goes OK Trish.

Will have to try little angels as on huggies ATM.

Trishstar · 12/06/2013 14:08

Thanks ladies xxx it's not a great day but am so so thankful for little Mr Grin

ratbagcatbag · 12/06/2013 16:05

Hi trish, hope it goes as well as can today.

I'm rather jealous of everyone's good nights sleep, Lucy finally settled at 11 and then went til 3:50 which isn't bad. But not as long as you guys.

Trishstar · 12/06/2013 16:14

Emma, Hunter only just started doing it and I fully expect it to be erratic xxx

ratbagcatbag · 12/06/2013 16:17

:) babies hey? I can't believe Lucy us three months old tomorrow. :( where's it going?

LikeCandy · 12/06/2013 16:35

trish I hope it goes ok for you all today.

faith wow what a fantastic night! The BF counsellor told me that by 10w they should be down to 8 feeds a day so if she's getting plenty during the day I guess she just wasnt hungry!

We're falling into a bit of a routine, purely going by what BabyCandy seems to do. Wake at 7:30, then days fully depend on what we're up to, but we now aim settle her to sleep on myself or DH for 8ish.
She's still feeding 11pm, 1:30am, 3:30am, 5:30am through the night. Probably still on 10/12sh feeds per 24hrs!
She seems to be getting bigger before my eyes - she's now in 3-6m vests!

Jo1984uk · 12/06/2013 17:11

Hope today went ok trish, that's a lovely idea with the balloons.

Faith the sleep last night was very impressive!!

Anyone elses babies decided they don't like the car seat or pram? Sofia will not settle in either, she especially hates the car seat!! She is definitely helping me loose weight as we are walking more and more. We have had so much use out of our caboo carrier. Hoping the dislike to the pram doesn't last forever, we treated her to bugaboo 3!

Have been looking at the boba 3G baby carrier, you can get some really funky patterns Smile still supports the legs and hips in the correct position too.

Teapig · 12/06/2013 17:19

Thinking of you today trish, I hope it went well.

ratbag DD is very erratic with sleeping at night. This time last week she was only doing 3 hour stretches then we suddenly got a 7 hour stint and the last couple of nights she's done 5 hours.

She woke at 1.30am last night and I didn't get her down until 4am Sad Mostly due to failed transfers and the need for multiple nappy changes but I suspect she is using me as a dummy at times. So far she refuses to take a dummy but I haven't given up trying yet.

LikeCandy · 12/06/2013 17:49

Jo snap! We have the bugaboo 3 that's used infrequently and I use the close caboo every day! I'm sure she'll much prefer the pram when it's in seat mode, I think the carrycot top is a bit too boring for her! (She loved it until about 9w)

HaveIGotPoosForYou · 12/06/2013 19:49

Jo Nope, doesn't like buggy or car seat at all and wont be having anything but the cot really, or sleeping on Mummy (which is fine for a while, but she's long and heavy so the arm gets a little tired after a while).

She still needs to do more poop though even though she had a massive explosion earlier. It's been 4 days and she usually goes every 2 so she's been upset still a bit, which isn't nice to see.

I hope everyone gets a good night sleep tonight. It can be very off and on, depending on how they have been during the day and how much they have ate. I hope little lady manages to have a good amount to eat as she's not eating barely anything at the moment - then gets a good sleep. :)

Jo1984uk · 12/06/2013 20:04

Likecandy and have I im glad Sofia isn't the only one Smile they are still so little so it's understandable really.

Sofia has been on the boob since 18.23!! She has just started to fall asleep. Any sounds around her make her eyes ping open and she starts frantically sucking again!

SneezySnatcher · 12/06/2013 20:28

Must mention the stellar job DH did tonight! I went for tapas with my friends and he was left in charge of bedtime for both DC for the first time. He had them both bathed and in bed (with photographic proof) by 7pm - very impressed. I should express but can't face it!

birdbrain21 · 12/06/2013 21:24

tea try mam dummies, they're expensive but baby bird took them straight away after refusing a few different ones!

So we had 8 week check and jabs yesterday. Everything was fine with the checks she now weighs 9lb 11oz birth weight was 6lb 8oz but gp wants to keep an eye on her because she dropped down her centile a bit, but that's only because first few weeks she crossed 2 centiles Hmm!!! I'm not concerned though she's feeding nicely (even let me give her a bottle of ebm today, normally she only takes bottle from DH Smile) and she seems happy so not gonna worry about centiles!!!! She did not like her jabs gave such a yell when the needle went in Sad she's not been to bad since, been very sleepy and wants to be held a lot but luckily still slept through last night....

birdbrain21 · 12/06/2013 21:28

might go next week to get pixifoto shoot done (from bounty pack voucher). Anyone else done it? I can't find on the website how much it costs to buy photos so don't know if I want to take money to purchase photos apart from the free one we get, because if they're very expensive I don't want to take money with so I won't be tempted to buy any cute photos, only going as we can get a free one (can't afford it otherwise)...

Trishstar · 12/06/2013 21:30

Went to early weeks group this morning, got H weighed and he peed on the scales as usual!!

H is now 11lb6oz and some 0-3 is finally fitting (took long enough considering he's 2months and 12 days) x

HadALittleFaithBaby · 12/06/2013 21:36

tea I have finally given up with dummies. I have tried 4 different types including Mam now and she just won't take them. I surrender! It's just not happening. At least she takes the bottle.

bird sounds like she's doing fine! So much to worry about isn't there? Glad the jabs were ok :)

Have I'm waiting for a poo too....Faithlet has been straining for a few days but nothing happening. It's going to be epic!

Well after debating for ages I finally spent my Christmas money on a Kindle paperwhite. Wish I'd done it ages ago! So easy to use with a baby feeding/snuggling and I think I'll watch less tv and Internet less (no bad thing!). Faithlet went down after one false start - she fell asleep after her bottle but stirred about 5 minutes after transfer and was sick on me when I picked her up. Bit of BF and she settled again. Kept her upright for longer second time round! First night in a grow bag. I thought it'd be huge but she's so long it's ok!

Hope you all have a good night :)

Faith I love my Kindle paperwhite. I did have a normal kindle but the paperwhite is great because I can now read in the dark - and I read loads when feeding Evan at night or even when he is asleep on me in the daytime. Most of the books I have downloaded are free ones too...

Trish hope today went okay. H seems to be doing really well - and hurrah to finally make it into 0-3 clothes. Smile

Bird we had pixifotos done with DD1 but never bothered with DD2 or with Evan. The ones of DD1 were not great but we still bought them! I don't recall them being very expensive. I think the way it worked back then but it may have changed is that we had the shots done and then went back a few days later to actually have a look and buy any we wanted.

We have HUGE canvases of DD1 and DD2 on our living room wall. They were taken by professional photographers when each DD was about 2 and are printed in black and white. I love them and am already planning on where to put one of Evan in a couple of years time. (We house swap though and I do wonder what our house swappers make of our kids smiling down on them Grin )

Evan had his 6 week check today - the catch-up one now that he is really 6 weeks old. He came through this time with flying colours and everything is all good; heart murmur has gone and he responded properly to all the 'tests' - unlike last time when he wouldn't/couldn't even open his eyes. He now weighs 12lb 7oz and is 58cm long and has a head circumference of 39cm all of which puts him at pretty much the 50 centile for a 6 week old (not bad as he will be 13 weeks old tomorrow).

And last night he went 5 hours from about 8.30pm to 1.30am between feeds which his is longest so far by nearly an hour. He has been asleep since about 7.30pm so we wait to see what he gets up to tonight. I did have to put his dummy back in when he woke at about 11pm last night - we have always done that whilst we get his milk ready but last night he just went back to sleep. Regarding his milk, we are mixing the normal/allergy formula so that his stomach can adapt easier than a staight switch as he has been rather sicky since DP 'messed him around' over the weekend. We will probably still end up with about 6 untouched tins of the prescribed stuff so I will ask around and see if anyone wants it locally.

And I have joined a crochet group! I tried to teach myself using Youtube when I was PG but whilst it was okay I didn't get too far so I have joined a local FB group and we are all meeting up next week (once the festival is over and we can all venture out on the roads again!)

Hope everyone has a good night.

ratbagcatbag · 13/06/2013 04:18

Bird - have a nosy on groupon, you can get some professional pics done for usually less than £20, with a free fab pic, be warned though, defo don't take any cash with you when looking at them.

Faith - I have the old kindle with a case with s light in, I love it, pre baby haha, rocks back and forth I used to devour books, reading at least three novels a week, sadly it's not even been charged since Lucy arrived.

Finally, Lucy was really grouchy earlier so did bedtime routine half hour earlier, she was zonked asleep on me by 8:15, went In her cot at 8:50 so was expecting a wake up at 1ish, nope went through to 3:30. 7 hours!!!!!!! She's just polished off 9oz milk dream feeding and is flat out on me again, ill be putting her down around 4:45 all being well. Interestingly not as snotty now the rains here. Dry weather doesn't suit her.

Hope you all got good nights sleep. :)

usernamegoeshere · 13/06/2013 06:50

I love my kindle but not used since baby arrived, determined to start reading again though, I have a game of thrones book awaiting my attention and a book coming out on 20th I been looking forward too.

Baby user refusing sleep again, not more than 30 mins a time since waking yesterday, she has periods of this regularly now, does my head in but at least I know it will pass. She seems to be at happiest with 2x4 hour naps in the day, a couple of short 30 min ones then 8 hours overnight. Which totals about 17 hrs sleep probably about right for a 7 week old? But when she misses one long nap we get stuck in a cycle of catnaps!

Want to go breast feeding support today, there's a normal baby group there too and because its in a church hall apparently nice old ladies sell cakes for charity! That being said though, might not go if baby user is sleeping.

Has anyone noticed the startle reflex going yet? We still have to swaddle because of it!
