Ok, here we go with the new thread - we got to exactly 1000! Hope everyone enjoyed this balmy day. I got Felix out loads in the buggy :)

Oh dear, sorry for those that have had rubbish nights. Wasn't brilliant here, he was only up from 4-5 but for some reason I slept v badly myself and kept waking and having nightmares.

Off to doc today for his second set of jabs (we are running v behind), and for me to see what is behind this ongoing dodgy tummy :(

Will post if I find anything nice for the baptism. Have set up an eBay alert for Tiffany Rose size 14! Also found out one of my NCT group are getting baptised on same day, so our parties clash, social disaster!

glorious · 10/05/2013 09:31

Oh lost and bunty I'm sorry Sad Hope you have restful days.

meringue it's typical isn't it, you lose the ability to sleep when you get the chance.

We had a much better night, DD crammed the milk in during the early evening, went 830-215 and 300-530. So I got a decent run finally.

mrsbugsywugsy · 10/05/2013 11:09

lost don't feel guilty about having a day indoors if you need to, days like this are what baby TV were invented for Grin

so last night was a partial success. I fed her at 10, then she woke at 12 and I settled her with a dummy. woke at 2 definitely hungry as she spat the dummy out and screamed louder then she had a good feed. woke again at 4, settled with a dummy. then woke at 6 needing a proper feed, then at 8 needing a feed.

tonight dp is going to sleep next to her and try to settle her first so at least that gives me a bit of a break.

octanegirl · 10/05/2013 11:41

newbie I've lost all my baby weight now, about 3 stone/23kg. I have porridge for breakfast, a normal-ish lunch (but without rice, bread, pasta or poatoes - ie just meat and veg) and the key I think, is that I have teeny tiny dinners. Either just soup, or a minuscule portion of "normal" dinner. I am breastfeeding which no doubt helps. It has taken some major willpower though!
ps I do cheat every day - in that I either have chocolate or ice cream as snack!!

OP posts:
Angielka · 10/05/2013 11:53

wow octanegirl that's impressive. I've been using breastfeeding as an excuse why I can't do any kind of diet (was looking at the 5:2 stuff but they all said not to do it if bfing) but I guess it's time to face up to reality. Thinking of cutting out chocolate and sugar as a start - well, at least on alternate days Blush

Anyone else losing hair like mad? When I wash my hair, the plughole is full of it, and I find it everywhere - even in Molly's neck folds Blush Blush. Apparently it can happen after pregnancy, but I hate it. Haven't got all that much to start with...

DH home for lunch so he is settling DD1 for her nap and Molly is asleep too. Amazing!

CreepyCrawly · 10/05/2013 11:58

Wow well done octane! I seem to have hit a brick wall with weight loss. I'm eating healthier now than I ever have, 3 meals a day and no snacking and I've still got a belly. I only have a treat on a Friday too. Looking forward to my aero this evening!

Angie I'm moulting too! Luckily my hair is really thick, but it's getting everywhere!

Have a very grumpy baby with a snuffly nose today so we're going to spend the day on the sofa.

octanegirl · 10/05/2013 12:19

I honesty don't think dieting while bfing is a problem (unless you go to total extremes and only eat cabbage or something) baby takes what he/she needs. Mine is following 75% so clearly not being affected by my reduced intake!
However it has taken a lot of restraint - DP is a tall skinny number and can eat like a racehorse, I eat about 1/5th of what he does at dinner!

OP posts:
AppleCrumples · 10/05/2013 12:39

Angie mine is coming out in clumps (hairdresser looked horrified). I remember the same happening after dd1 but can't remembrer when it stopped!

Sorry to all those not getting any sleep. Its so hard.

Ivy pretty unsettler today but i think its because a tooth is cutting as there is a definite white spot and i can feel it. Poor thing :(

Tugstonia · 10/05/2013 12:46

Wow Octane that's amazing! I put on 3.5 stone during pregnancy Blush and have 1.5 to go, can't seem to shift the rest of it surely the kitkat chunkys have nothing to do with it. Think I've been relying on breastfeeding miraculously melting away the flab!

Angie my hair's falling out too :( Weirdly though I've noticed i hardly have any body hair on legs and armpits anymore. Anyone else noticed that?!

Birdies · 10/05/2013 13:17

Wow octane you've lost alot. I've also lost mine (though despite eating like a I pig I only put about 2 stone on) - I just have three meals a day plus one treat a day. So angiel you can eat chocolate every day and lose weight, honestly! I think for me it's the breastfeeding which is allowing me to eat a normal diet plus a treat and still lose the weight. It hasn't fallen off but has come off steadily.

Welcome back newbie! Agree re mums in RL, sometimes it feels like one bit competition. People much more honest on here!

meringue the date clash is a pain. Get your invites out first!!

The only way I got more than 2 hours sleep in a row last night was to put her on her front at about 5am when I was desperate. Then when I heard her wake she managed to self settle again. Does anyone put baby on their front? I just worry about it though...

Birdies · 10/05/2013 13:20

Ps realised that sounded like I was showing off only putting 2 stone on! I wasn't honest, I actually wanted to put more on as for some reason I seem to only grow quite small babies. Anyway, I'll be a fatty again once I stop bf :)

Meringue33 · 10/05/2013 14:18

I have Birdies, I have!

Glad sleep is improving, Glorious, Bugsy.

I think I have finally started to lose some weight but its not cause I have broken open the Shred DVD or anything. Just I'm totally off my food due to tummy bug or maybe it is IBS. Saw nurse practitioner today, she prescribed... Domperidone!

Lostbobbles · 10/05/2013 14:48

Well done Octane, I still have 5 pounds to go but really need to start hitting the gym, serious toning needs doing but just too exhausted can't be arsed at the mo. I am lucky to of got this far with the amount of crap I eat though.

Birdies: DD1 slept on front she had silent reflux and was the only way she would settle for longer that 30 mins.

lollipoppi · 10/05/2013 14:56

Hi all!
Back from centre parcs, had an amazing time I would highly recommend going!

Caught up on this weeks latest on the way home, sorry for those having sleepless nights and teething Hmm
Darcie is also teething, refusing milk and just generally screaming, tried bonjella with little effect so may try the granules someone mentioned up thread

I don't appear to be losing my mummy tummy yet the chocolate and generally crap diet don't help but I do fit back into my pre pregnancy jeans with a little muffin top going on

Anyhoo back to my mountain of washing!

happyhow · 10/05/2013 14:59

Wow octane!! Well done!! I'm afraid I'm going to boast about weight loss... I only put on 8lbs and had lost it within 6 days! Considering the number of giant buttons I ate, that was miraculous. The pre-baby weight is proving harder to shift. I'm sure all the Cadbury fabulous fingers have absolutely nothing to do with it...

It's been kind of sunny this afternoon and I haven't been arsed going out today... Seemed like a lazy day was needed. Irony is, I've spent half the day watching The Biggest Loser on Sky!!!

Had sister in law over last night. She didn't turn up til 8.15pm though when I would usually be feeding B and getting him sorted for bed. She then wondered why he was getting grumpy and didn't want to play... Whilst feeding him, she did what she could to distract him so he didn't feed properly and then wouldn't settle to sleep. I eventually chucked her out at 10pm cause I was tired and was going to have to feed him again. Gggrrrrr!!!!

Birdies · 10/05/2013 15:24

How long does it take for baby to drink from a bottle? I just tried expressing and bottle feeding and she wouldn't drink from it at all. Kept crying, wriggling and then choking a bit. I've bloody left it too late I think as night out is meant to be tomorrow. Am upset but I know it's my own fault :(.

happyhow · 10/05/2013 15:29

I find with Bailey that he won't take a bottle if he's worked up and really hungry - only boob will do in those cases. If he's calm and not quite desperate yet, he'll take it happily. Also, your little one might not take a bottle from you as they'll associate you with boob. It's quite common for breastfed babies to bottle refuse from the mum. Keep persevering if they're calm though.

Also, my hair is falling out like nobody's business too!! Body hair has come back to normal though Hmm

glorious · 10/05/2013 16:17

Wow well done octane and happy. I was down to 2kg to go but put one back on last week Blush Definitely still have more tum and less muscle though and doing buggy fit and pilates as a result!

Glad you had a better night too bugsy .

Meringue33 · 10/05/2013 16:48

Happy I have a friend like your SIL. First time she met LO she was two hours late but then stayed for four hours. He was a few weeks old, I was knackered! I've now learned to meet on neutral turf and lie about the start time :)

mrsbugsywugsy · 10/05/2013 17:22

birdies that's what dd does if the milk isn't warmed precisely to her satisfaction. it has to be exactly right for her to drink it the fussy little madam

I've never given her a bottle myself, dp always does it, so no idea if she'd take it from me.

Lora1982 · 10/05/2013 22:39

Feel awful saying i had a good day now! We met some people in the park then went to my friends he was good as gold! Ive just got him sleep and i had to wrestle the cat out of his pram the sneaky cow snook into it. Never seen her try and pinch his areas before.

Washers still broke so we went to my mum and dads to make use of the free electric (they have solar panels you know Grin)

glorious · 11/05/2013 09:37

I think we have an explanation for the non-sleeping grouchiness. She rolled over Smile I know it's not really that exciting but she's my PFB.

AppleCrumples · 11/05/2013 09:50

Yes it is glorious! Yay for your dd x

Ivy couldn't seem to empty my huge boob at 3 so got expressor out at 6 am feed but she had a littke go, got a face full of milk then it took so long tp get expressor together i ended up in a puddle of milk! Oh the joys! :)

CreepyCrawly · 11/05/2013 11:54

Lovely glorious! I've been trying to get Nancy rolling, she can only manage half a roll.

I'm feeling like utter shit today, and quite tempted to go to M&S and tie all the useless bra fitters up with their shitty bras and tape measures. My 36J bra arrived today, and now I'm rocking the 4 boob look. If I wasn't bf I wouldn't care as much and would just wear whatever looks right, but I don't want to affect my milk. I'm so fed up of looking and feeling crap. I'd love a reduction but I've read it can damage milk ducts. Such a bad mood today :(

Hope everyone else is off to a better start!

mrsbugsywugsy · 11/05/2013 14:05

glorious dd rolled for the first time yesterday too Smile would that explain the grumpiness then? she has also suddenly become really chatty, she sounds a bit like a clanger.

creepy have you tried bravissimo? they are much better at bra fittings than m&s.
