PetiteRaleuse · 08/03/2013 16:18

I used to watch French Supernanny - have never seen an episode of the British one. The French one was excellent but she died. It was really sad.

Contradictionincarnate · 08/03/2013 16:19

Contradictionincarnate · 08/03/2013 16:34

and we all (I include me in this) get worried at injection time ... it really is one of those first world problems!

Catbag · 08/03/2013 16:47

PR Hawes is closest to me, but I am happy to trundle to any of those spots :)

Quiche meets rule Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 08/03/2013 17:00

Popped to mothercare to try on some bras following my sizing revelation. The smallest they had was 32, right boob (recently emptied) was a D, left was definitely larger. Who knew!

Tried F in her door bouncer, she freakin' loved it. She was so delighted to discover that she could make herself bounce. Bless her. Not sure what the cat's going to make of it Hmm

ChunkyChicken · 08/03/2013 17:07

Hey all.

Back from the New Forest, had a great time. We had fantastic weather on Tues, good on Mon & Wed, ok on Thurs & f'ing awful today. Unfortunately the day we wanted to go to Peppa Pig World on our way home, the weather is so appalling we couldn't justify spending £45 at least, poss £67.50 if they charged for DD (children under 1m free, they are measured in shoes & are charged the same as adults if over, its quite a pricey "mistake" if she's too tall!!) to spend 4-5hrs indoors or in the rain. We did a lot of walking & generally taking the air, & watching lots of TWW in the evening. Unfortunately breastfeeding meant I couldn't indulge in the wine :(

DS is v noisy breathing after a bad wk snot wise so we're debating whether to take him to the GP, esp as he's not feeding particularly well today.

I've not caught up & tbh not sure I'll be able to. I'll see if I can dip in & out, but its been quite free-ing to be wi-fi-less for a few days...

Anyway, hope babies are generally prospering; those that were suffering colds or a deterioration in reflux or sleep issues have improved, & all others have stayed happy & well. Also hoping all Mummies are happy & well, those that were/are struggling MH wise, get the love & support they need and those that are just floating along on the current of life continue to keep their heads above water.

Catch you all again soon...

Today has been absolutely hideous. The hospital I'm in is awful, the building looks like a gas works, the facilities are atrocious and I'm on a mixed ward surrounded by noisy winging children. Oh that sounds awful as I know they are ill and can't help it but I'm just so fed up. Getting the probe down Ella was one of the worst hours of my life and I cry every time I think of it. E can't sleep and is crying lots too. I hate it here. My DH asked if they sent me here to make me appreciate the other hospital and I think he might have a point. The staff are all lovely but that's the only positive thing I can say. It's not even a camera she has down her, it's a probe monitoring acid levels for reflux. Surely other babies that have silent reflux don't have to go through all this to get diagnosed. And id be surprised if she has it. The results will come on Monday so I bet I'll be back in the other hospital till then at least. If this test is clear we will e back here for the camera test but that's just a day thing so at least I won't be here overnight. And they better not bloody even think about keeping me at that other hospital till Friday. Im almost hoping she does have it as its not bad and then theu can stop with these horrible tests. Sorry for the woe is me post but I'm just reaching the end of my tether and I just desperately want to take E home. I can't take much more.

I've not caught up in thread, will do so now. Hopefully you're all having a lovely day.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/03/2013 17:19

Eliza rant away you're having a shitty time and coping so much better than I would - you're amazing Thanks hugs to E.

Cat how about Hawes then on the Thursday before you leave. Don't want you to have to come too far as you've got loads of stuff to do.

BigPigLittlePig · 08/03/2013 18:24

My baby just laughed for the first time! At a song in Madagascar 2 I made dh rewind it many times I cried Blush

blonderedhead · 08/03/2013 18:37

Oh Eliza I am so so sorry you and E are going through this. It must be awful. You are being so brave for her. I hope they get things sorted asap so you can both get home and put all this behind you. Love to you both ThanksThanksThanks

Apple and PP what a crappy attitude from your OHs and on International Women's Day too. Saying it's personality is no reason, most men and most women may not be suited but a few are. It's like saying women aren't funny or can't write. So sad that these kinds of attitudes are still prevalent in men and women from many different backgrounds.

ValiumQueen · 08/03/2013 18:39

Congratulations littlepig

Hugs eliza thinking of you x

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 08/03/2013 18:44

You've just reminded me bigpig, B giggled for the first time last night too. DH was blowing raspberries on her tummy!

sweetpea1112 · 08/03/2013 18:55

Oh Eliza Thanks and hugs for you and your little girl. Thinking of you.

If anyone watches Big Bang Theory - Oscar's laugh is like Sheldon. Hilarious. Daddy is the best at getting laughs - pretending to eat his belly his a favourite.

He's been such a cuddly little boy today. I have the wonder weeks book and I think he may be hitting the 12 week one late, as he does seem a little wary of the world around him of late.

Lily311 · 08/03/2013 18:55

Just caught up, we have had a busy day.

Eliza huge hugs, hope you can go home soon or at least go back to the other hospital.

DD was very good until 1 p.m. Than decided that being a velcro baby is actually much better than being good. She did not settle anywhere, I nearly threw away all her toys, what is the point of having them if all she wants is me. There is no chance for her learning how to roll/crawl/walk if she doesn't let me to put her down.

Right, I need a huge kick in the ass. I have an assignment to submit by Tues and I have not even opened the book. I thought it was a good idea to sign up for this course only 2 months after giving birth, I thought DD would be in a routine and I could study while she is asleep. How wrong I was. I must open the books tomorrow.

TheDetective · 08/03/2013 19:29

Eliza :( Thanks and more importantly Wine soon, soon it will come. And all this will be over! You know you can self discharge if you feel that you are not getting anywhere. Not that I'm advocating it, but just so you know, if you get really pissed off with it all.

I have a whopping headache. I have a birthday to get ready for tomorrow. I am having 11 year old twins for swimming, mcdonalds and sleepover. I am NOT looking forward to this. Me, DP and O are relegated upstairs after 8pm. Hmm

YW That is roughly what I have done today. He had 1ml around 9.30, and then at 6pm had 2.5mls. He's going back to velcro whingebag and won't be put down for more than about 2-3 minutes :( I'll give it the 5 days to see an improvement, and then back to the drawing board. It made such a difference after the first dose, but then yesterday and today I think he's sliding back downhill again.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
