As a few of us have popped early I thought I'd start us a post-natal thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BuntyCollocks · 18/02/2013 09:23

lolli saline drops, and you can get snot suckers. Combination of both. Hot steamy bathroom. Magic.

Lora1982 · 18/02/2013 09:55

Woooo ive been referred. My boob will be back in working order either today or tomorrow wooooo

happyhow · 18/02/2013 11:07

That's great news Lora. Glad it's finally getting sorted.

B has taken to not settling after the 4am-ish feed. He falls asleep on me, I put him down and then he wakes an hour or so later and won't really settle again. He's sometimes waking because he's been sick but not sure how I can do anymore to stop it (keep him upright for as long as possible, trying to make sure he's well winded etc). Hubby was pretty pissed off this morning but then B gave him a huge smile as he was leaving for work so all was forgotten!

He keeps crying today and sticking his tongue out so I could be in for a Bunty type day too....

Birdies · 18/02/2013 11:29

Was looking forward to the health visitor coming today. All going well, put on lots of weight. Then she measures head size. Then measures it again in case she got it wrong. Has gone from 9th to 91st centile. She says "don't worry". Of course I'm going to frigging worry. She's coming back in 2 weeks to remeasure. So before I was worried head was too small. Now we have the opposite problem.

And I've just googled :(

BuntyCollocks · 18/02/2013 11:35

birdies STOP GOOGLING! says a serial worrier/googler

AppleCrumples · 18/02/2013 14:15

Birdies i'm sorry but worrying is part of motherhood! My mil says she still worries all the time (she rang me after dh told her about dd1 nose and then failed to let her know everything was ok - men). Am sure all will.be fine x

Spring i imagine its all quite quiet with just 2 little ones. I agree about getting everyone out today has been better as we went to the park, troubke is mine arw younger so getting out means we all have to go - except ds1 who is alowed out on his own. If we all hang around the house all day all hell breaks loose :)

So after yesterdays blood and baby sick fest we started today with an exploding [hmmm] nappy! Then on the way back from park 1 walked into a lamp post, 1 fell off a wall and then announced his wobbly tooth had fallen out! Frankly baby Ivy is the least trouble right now.

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

mrsbugsywugsy · 18/02/2013 14:22

just got back from dd's vaccinations. she screamed till she went purple Sad

MamaMary · 18/02/2013 14:44

What a beautiful day. Had a very short walk down to doctors' surgery for my post-natal checkup; wish I could have gone for a longer walk but I'm getting a cold: headache, sore throat and a bit shivery :( Hope noone else in the family gets it.

Leah gave me a break this morning as she napped for a good while. Now awake and hungry!

Lora1982 · 18/02/2013 15:13

Well now in agony. They got some out my god it hurt, going back thursday to get more out. Currently in bed feeling very sorry for mself. Heaalth visitor came when i was at hospital, totally forgot sge waas coming dp was here though dexter weighs a massive 12lb 3!!! God i wish ny boob would just piss right off :'(

CreepyCrawly · 18/02/2013 17:21

Fair play to you bunty! I'd have cut my boobs off by now I think.

Hope you feel better soon Lora.

I'm pretty sure I have a milk blister, which explains the absolute agony during feeding using my right boob. The thought of going anywhere my nipple with a needle is filling me with dread. Any chance it'll just go by itself?!

salt1 · 18/02/2013 18:17

I need to confess that i am sick of breast feeding. Am convinced that if i formula fed i would save self shit loads of time and stress (god i feel like such a bad mother)

Hormonalhell · 18/02/2013 18:37

Am I a shit mother then cos I formula feed Salt?

BuntyCollocks · 18/02/2013 18:49

Haha thanks creepy!

I'm also dealing with a milk blister - on week 3 I think of it. Warm olive oil on cotton wool, express and feed.

But I have to keep lancing and tweezing the fucker :(. It doesn't hurt as its all dead skin/solid milk.

salt1 · 18/02/2013 18:52

Of course not hormonal i feel like such a bad mother for moaning

lollipoppi · 18/02/2013 19:39

Both children are ASLEEP!!!

Just sat down with a brew and my (not so healthy) tea ............ And emptied the ENTIRE contents of the salt pot over my tea SadAngrySad
Fuckity fuck fuck fuckit!!!!

Got to laugh right Grin

theboutiquemummy · 18/02/2013 20:11

Ooh lollipop sods bloody law WinkWink

Salt & hormonal I'm combination feeding bugger it I've had a few digs but sod them anyway my friends brought me these funny cards about motherhood from the states they are helping me keep my sense of humour GrinGrinGrin

Lora1982 · 18/02/2013 21:21

I second that, combo feeding has made life so much more bearable.

Hormonalhell · 18/02/2013 21:48

Sorry salt didn't mean to sound crabby... Sleep deprivation is seriously getting to me Hmm

Hormonalhell · 18/02/2013 21:49

Did u eat it Lolli? Depends how hungry u are whether u scrape it off Grin

lollipoppi · 18/02/2013 22:06

Jeez, I like a bit of salt but I have to draw the line at a mountain of it Grin

I rang DP in a foul mood and he came home with a Chinese ..... Peace has been restored!!

MarasmeAbsolu · 19/02/2013 00:20

Bunny, DD, who is 7 weeks and EBFed only poos every 4 or 5 days and grows increasingly angry :(
Today is day 4 and not much fun...

salt1 · 19/02/2013 02:40

No problem hormonal - and totally with you on the sleep deprivation

Lora1982 · 19/02/2013 02:55

Nyaaaaw i think i just got my first proper non-wind smiles. I was sticking my tongue out and smiling and he was doing it backa....not the tongue bit

Bunny222 · 19/02/2013 03:03

maraseme thanks for sharing that. Was having a stress!
He was weighed today and is 10lb 9oz at 3 weeks old! So am not going to feel guilty about combine feeding him, clearly something is working :-) health visitor very keen for me to give up nipple sheilds, not a chance when I can BF pain free!

lora hope they can sort you out soon.

Meringue33 · 19/02/2013 04:00

Wow cannot believe we are all still here and coping - somehow!

Lora I have so much admiration for you, amazing you have kept going thro all the pain you've had to deal with! Hope you're doing ok x

Marasme wish I had that problem. This LO poos after almost every feed, changing him is so boring and really annoying when he has fallen asleep at boob and I know changing is going to wake him up again.

Sleep dep a problem. The night feeds seem to all be marathon sessions now - two boobs and a change, 2 hours total, rather than just a quick 30 mins and put back down. Exhausted and fed up :(
