I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

deb - I never forget your anniversary because we were married on the same day. Grin Well done on the 8 st and speaking to your DH. Dare I say you've nearly lost a me. Shock

Sorry for all the rubbish sleepers.

DH and I spent our anniversary buying a car. Hmm So that's the last major item on the list done and my stress levels have finally dropped. L is bloody hard work during the day. He hasn't managed to figure out the doorknobs but he can work the latches on the dishwasher and oven. I think the cabinet locks are not far behind.

Hello to everyone else. I'm still getting to grips with this tablet and only have 5 minutes while L takes the cutlery out of the dishwasher. Hmm

MizK · 14/09/2012 11:09

Hi ladies, just a quick hello so you don't forget me! Have had such a busy week, started my school placement and Access course at college - BIG readjustment after nearly two years at home lemme tell ya! I'm really enjoying it, but can tell there's going to be a ton of work, need to get my brain back in gear! cass has settled OK into nursery but she has been soooo tired. She hasn't been napping at nursery, just grabbing half an hour in the car so she's suffering from exhaustion today! We were going to go to messy play (and see the lovely ponyo and A there) but she was so whingey and grumpy that we're having a quiet day at home.
Right, I shall go and catch up on everybody's news, sorry for self indulgent post :)

wigglesrock · 14/09/2012 11:56

MizK I was wondering how you got on Grin Brilliant - never worry about the work - you'll get there. My friend has just been accepted for her nursing degree after three attempts. She worked so hard to get through the interview this year and was so broken hearted when she wasn't given a place but she complained and annoyed and anoyed them and lo and behold she has been given a reserve place Hmm She spent last year doing a course to give her some extra qualifications and she is an auxiliary in the head trauma unit already so it really was her last shot Grin

Anna has tonsillitis - she's been "off" for the past few days and in the worst form imaginable Shock She hasn't been sleeping much this week and when I lifted her last night she just completely and utterly reminded me of O when she's ill. Had her down at Dr this morning and its quite bad, I know its just tonsillitis and the antibiotics will lift and I'm being very unreasonable Grin it but its really upset me (and you know I'm as hard as bleep) I think its the thought of having to watch every bad mood, hoarse voice, restlessness the way I have to do with O! Might have to push for a buy one get one free tonsillectomy Grin

Look MizK I beat your self indulgent rant Blush Grin

Right off to shake it off, laters Grin

reastie · 14/09/2012 13:52

wiggles poor A with the tonsilitis (I'm sure deb will give llots of sympathy!). Tis very hard work when they're 'off' isn't it. Btw Grin to a BOGOF on tonsillectomy, and, btw, I didn't even know tonsillectomy was a word until just now!

mizk go you with the studies. I remember going to uni after a couple of years off studying and it was a bit of a shock to the system but once I'd remembered how to write an essay it all clicked back, so I'm sure you'll be fine once you get used to it.

american glad you've got a car and Shock to Leo getting in the dishwasher when it's locked.

blizy would be great if you lived nearer and could be my childminder Grin . How are all the mindees? Hope they're all better

Merci for all the sympathy. Feeling a bit better today - have told MIL to have at least 2 weeks off Alice duty to recover (in the hope she will be honest in how recovered she is) and, dare I say it, invited them over next week end to keep them happy.

Alice up since 4am this morning and I was up anyway with a dodgy tummy, so I think that this week end will be a quiet one.

Think I might make jam tarts with Alice this afternoon Grin

reastie · 14/09/2012 13:53

Sorry, wiggles that sounded patronising and I didn't mean it like that. Are you OK? You sound a bit down compared to usual.

ledkr · 14/09/2012 17:47

Poor Anna wiggs I agree you sound a bit upset. My ds1 used to get it terribly and often too. I used to be able to "smell" that he had it the second I walked into his room. The saddest thing I ever did was leave him like that when I went into hospital, they just want their Mums don't they. As you said though the anti B's work quickly too. D has had a cold and although she isnt actually ill she has been fairly hideous, moaning lots, picky with food, hitting us a lot, waking up randomly, pushing and slapping other children,me and dh are a bit fed up of her today,we have been trying to get jobs done and she has whinged non stop. Im off to buy us some wine in a bit to soothe our stress Grin

GOLDdebka · 14/09/2012 20:05

wiggles you poor thing, I hope Anna is on the mend soon. Much love xxx

reastie good decision re MIL. 4am???? What is this time???!!! Shock How were the jam tarts?

expat happy anniversary!

mizk well done and good luck on your studying. I can't wait till it's me :)

ledkr how far down the Wine are you? Grin I am constantly in awe of you, you have DONE your time as a mum of small DCs, can't believe you did it again with D!

Have been eating like a PIG since weigh in on Tues, I'll have to rein it in if I don't want the leader to take my shiny new certificate off me Grin

reastie · 15/09/2012 06:46

deb jam tarts were great thanks (not that I tasted one obv just from the perspective of keeping Alice happy). She now knows when the cutter or rolling pin (the correct one) when I ask her to roll the pastry or use the cutter [proud] . Now I'm going to work on her learning palette knife Grin . We put fresh blueberries on the top afterwards (to make them healthyish) which she found great fun. I think I might try to make meringue nests at the week end and then she can spoon some youhurt in the tops and decorate with fruit

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 07:43

Hello everyone, just been catching up whilst A stomps about scribbling on bits of paper and dances to that annoying Yop advert Grin. One of my best mates got married on Thursday, it was a lovely day and A looked cute in her dress as my fb friends will have seen! She stayed up until 9pm then fell asleep on another friends new boyfriend which he seemed pretty chuffed about, especially when someone told him how good she'd been and asked if he had a pram with him Grin

My friend who got married is moving away after the honeymoon though, I'm gutted, she lives on the next road to me so I'll miss her loads, wiggles whereabouts are you because I think she's moving your way?!

A is fine but has been ill (temperature and cough) for a few days hence horrendous sleep, shes recovering now though and snotty yuk

Anyway enough about me, wiggles poor A, sounds horrible, I don't know much about tonsilitus (thank god) just hope you are ok.

reastie baking sounds fab as always! Glad you have things 'sorted' with MIL in for now. Who is having A when you're at work?

deb I was Shock at 8 stone too, amazing! Are you still running and just eating better?

ledkr hope you enjoyed the vino, A is still whingy and clingy but I have to remember shes still a bit poorly because it is so bloody annoying (grr).

MizK yay glad college is going well! Aw at C being exhausted from nursery, I can imagine her running about there :)

Better go becuase she is clambering on me and will delete this post in a inute I'm sure Hmm We are off to visit my dads parents today oop north, hope everyone has a good saturday :)

reastie · 15/09/2012 18:34

Just a quickie - some reassurance please ladies - Alice has bashed her head twice today Shock [pfb] . First time was a bit of crying when she banged it falling over on her play table then she was fine but second time DH and I were in and out of the kitchen clearing dinner stuff away and whilst we were both in (and Alice was in the dining room right next to where we were) she tipped her high chair backwards so it fell on the floor on it's back with her in it and on her way down she hit her head on the wall Shock . It gave her a real shock and tbh must've really hurt. It didn't knock her out of anything. She screamed on my lap maybe 5 - 10 minutes and about half an hour later is OK (I think). She's got a big lump on the back of her head from one of the falls. Can someone reassure me that children do this all the time as I'm a bit of a state about it. All I keep thinking is of a report I read about how they think there's a link between young children having big knocks to the head and autism and head injuries and how serious they can be Shock [sob]

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 19:07

Hey reastie, I would put a cold compress on her head and if you're worried ring nhs direct for advice. They'll prob go through a list of things to look out for and it might put your mind at rest a bit? Poor A that sounds scary, I'm sure she'll be fine but I'd be feeling te same as you, hugs Sad x

reastie · 15/09/2012 19:30

We did the cold compress thanks ponyo . She seems more herself now (thank goodness) so hoping all OK. Rang DM as I had no idea if I should take her to A&E and she said as long as she is OK in herself and not more drowsy than usual or been sick or anything she should be OK. Poor Alice. I think it might have scared her for life from her highchair!

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 19:57

It must have been scary bless her! Agree with the advice you've been given, I always think the worst with head bumps too, especially if it's near bed time!

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:31

reastie was about to say you were being a bit pfb but omg, that highchair bump, blimey, I'd have been just the same. I think you did the right thing though, cold compress and a cuddle. Hope Alice is ok now and sleeping like a little angel :)

Busy night at work tonight, not in a scary ambulance way, just lots of calls. Now to endure DH eating chocolate whilst we watch an Al Pacino film. I am Not Eating today (apart from lunch), trying to make some ground back after last week

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:32

Anyone else be relieved when we fill this thread up? Takes flipping ages to load. I may take it upon myself to fill it now I think Grin

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:32

wiggles how is Anna and her tonsillitis? I hope she hasn't infected O. Hope you're getting some sleep. xxx

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:35

ponyo how is Anya? Snot is just the pits isn't it. Imogen blows her nose now, but she'll let the slug trails get to her mouth before she asks me to help her. Gopping. My two have both had colds and I have little slug trails at child height on all my trousers.

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:35

Bloody hell I'm hungry. Could just eat a nice bowl of weetabix now.

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:37

Right last one, starting to bore myself now Grin

Ordered a coat from H&M today after a thread in S&B, my firt MN induced purchase! It was a bargainous £17 cos someone linked to some money off codes. Am tres excited and want the postman to bring it NOW and for it to get nice and cold so I can wear it!

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 21:51

Grin at deb, A is better thanks, still nice and snotty Hmm but doesn't protest too much when I grab her face and wipe her nose. She likes sticking her tongue out too to lick it when it reaches her mouth, hm lovely.
She was on form at my grandparents today and loved her "cousin"(not her actual cousin but my family are weird and hardly related in a nice way Grin) got fed a load of ice cream too Smile

Deb linky to the coat please? I've just scoffed a pizza

GOLDdebka · 15/09/2012 21:56

there it is ponyo

Envy to pizza was it ham and mushroom, my favourite?

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 22:03

Deb that coat is lovely! Ooh quite tempted to get one myself Grin I don't need a winter coat though...

My pizza was asda chicken fajita with jalapeños and a little sachet of sour cream, it is the best pizza ever! Oh I mean it was gross you would t have liked it Wink

ILovePonyo · 15/09/2012 22:04

*wouldn't obviously Blush

blizy · 16/09/2012 02:46

Love the coat Debka.

Reastie- poor Alice, must have been scary for you both. Fwiw, I --am- was very clumsy and always bumping my head, I walk Into things, fall over and my worse was being hit with a cricket bat on the head as a child. I am fine (I think). Remember there is always a scare mongering story out there. Hope you are ok?

Wiggles- hope A is on?

Ponyo- Boke to the slugs, I call them snail trails or a number 11.

Was out at a friends hen night, was an experience to behold, lots of rough women, some fighting and being thrown out. There was one fine specimen with rather fetching knuckle tattoos.Hmm right im off to catch some z's (hopefully).

OP posts:
reastie · 16/09/2012 08:14

Just an update - Alice touch wood seems fine this morning. She even slept in a little to 7:20 Shock - DH and I had both independently of each other sneaked into her bedroom to check she was still OK Blush

deb love the coat. I'm going to aim for taking myself clothes shopping in actual shops (not mail order) in November in the hope I will be a dress size less again by then

blizy sounds like an interesting evening! How are you sleep wise at the min btw?

ponyo Hmm to the pizza!
