Aww reastie thats really sweet, you are inspiring me to get the aprons on with Casspants. I bet Alice will grow up v appreciative of you letting her get stuck in :)
expat Glad you got there safely :) jealous of the 30degree weather though! Seems like everything is going pretty well so far!
debka you may have a shell of a husband returned to you after this weekend :)
ponyo thanks for being so nice about Joe, he is actually a very sweet boy when he doesnt have anyone of his own age to bicker with! He thought A was really cute especially her hairdo! Speaking of, looking forward to seeing your new do at some point :)
ledkr DD is only just 13, (August baby) and started her periods a couple of months ago. She started developing at around mid year 6 so thats about two years from boobs to womanhood :) Then about a year ago she asked for a Venus razor as she hates underarm hair and had a few wisps. Prior to actual periods she got a bit of puppy fat round her waist which went when she had a growth spurt of about 4 inches, and all of a sudden she looked like a teenager. Its a very strange feeling when your baby girl looks grown up! sings Slipping through my fingers to myself . Hope Ella sails through this puberty lark like my DD has (so far!)

Sometimes I look at my babies and think, I'll miss you when you're grown up. Time just goes like that, doesnt it? To think, this time last year the babies were all little scraps, just starting weaning etc and now they're all little people. Right, on that sentimental note, I'd better get off! Have a good weekend everybody, hoping it will be a sunny one :)

ledkr · 02/09/2012 12:47

has literally nobody been on since friday? How odd. I am just having a quick 5mins whilst pushing d to sleep in pram. She woke at 8.30!
Thanks for the advice mizk yes its is weird,I think cos she so little i thought it was an age away. She has been a little emotional and anxious too but also seems more mature in some ways.We are off to see a show in two weeks i havent booked it yet but she wants mama mia but dont think i can sit through that song dry eyed haha.
hubbard Of course he says he only loves Daddy cos he aint there and you are so he can safely be nasty to you which proves how well you are doing.
My Ella thinks the sun shines out of ex knobheads arse and his dp who was the ow.It does my head in but I know its cos she's not secure enough with them to hate them.
btw it is dgs birthday party today and ow has not been invited, only ex kh and dd's. My ds does not want ow in his house which is fair enough. Ex thinks its down to me but i rather think she should come and sit with me and my sisters and my Mum hmmmmmm!!

blizy · 02/09/2012 13:46

Ohhh ledkr, now that would be an interesting conversation! I hope you all enjoy the party.

T'is very quiet in here this weekend. I was at my bros 18 th party last night, my parents thought it a good idea to have a house party for him=. Epic fail! The place was full of 18 yr olds spewing! Hmm
I am recovering today with the great British bake off and catching up on tv. Oh, Alfie is fine, although the anaesthetic made him madder than usual Shock!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 02/09/2012 15:42

Hi all, it has been quiet hasn't it - dp and A are asleep on the settee so I'm doing a quick post!

We took A to the farm this morning where she stroked a goats beard and said "daddy" - dp has a beard Grin

deb I;m having my hair cut again tomo even shorter, I'll get a pic up after! Is your dh back yet?!

reastie Inspired by you and Alice, this morning I made pancakes and got A to help, she liked it! She stirred the mixture and watched very carefully as I cooked them, I think she likes eating them more if she has helped cook it? What biscuits do you make, can you link to a recipe please?

Mizk Grin at Joe liking A;s hair, her bunches are a bit ridic aren't they! Speaking of the babies growing up, A was doing that proper hysterical high picthed laughing that toddlers do when our friend was over yesterday, he has a 4 year old and was getting a bit sad that she doesn't laugh like that anymore, they out grow things so quickly, even giggling! aw :(

ledkr haha, yes you should say that would love ow to come over and get involved! Good girl D sleeping til 8.30 (jealous)

blizy UUURGH to puking teens, what were your parents thinking! Glad Alfie boy is ok :)

I can't remember what else I was going to say, oh but dp is back at work tomo so A is back at nursery 3 days a week, it'll be weird being back to the old routine.

reastie · 02/09/2012 18:33

ponyo I've done digestive biscuits, shortbread biscuits and scones with Alice re: biscuity recipes. They all come from my school text book cook book I use with the students at school Grin so can't link. I could type it up for you if you like? We did flapjacks together today. I think you're right - she gets really excited to eat her food after it's cooked and is always proud to show other people what she's cooked. Glad you enjoyed it Grin

ledkr hope the party went well and ow sorted herself out and didn't make a fuss

blizy is it ever a good idea to let 18 year olds have a house party?! Glad Alfie is OK.

Back to work this week Sad . Have to get Alice some new shoes tomorrow and I'm thinking the shoe shop will be full to the rafters with children wanting new school shoes.

Took Alice to the sea side yesterday. She absolutely loved it. 2 hours of her pottering around in the sand - was bliss, just wish I would have taken my book with me! Wish we lived nearer the sea.

deb what state was DH in?

mizk it's so true - I can't believe how much Alice has managed in just a year, it's all gone so quickly. I want to freeze time sometimes as she'll be at school before I know it. When she was a teeny baby I remember thinking how much I was cherishing moments with her while she was so tiny except when she was up at 3am . I never get time to stop and think about that anymore.

american hope you're now recovered from the journey and getting used to the heat.

ILovePonyo · 02/09/2012 21:13

No worries reastie I can find some recipes somewhere, no worries. Nice to hear what you've made and that Alice likes eating it too :) Seaside sounds fab, I wish we were near the sea too, think Skegness is our nearest, dp had to go once with his schoolkids and hated it so won't go again Grin

ILovePonyo · 02/09/2012 21:14

Oh I said no worries twice Blush Hmm

wigglesrock · 02/09/2012 21:53

reastie I love the fact that we can be on a beach in about 25 mins here. Hope school goes ok Grin

Sofia is back in tomorrow and she's soooo excited - she lost a tooth last night so she's very keen to show off the gap [bleugh] She has a new teacher this year - and she really likes him so she's raring to go. Last year she had the teacher no-one likes strict teacher so she was a bit nervous (although I really liked her Grin)

ponyo Grin at A and the goat. We have a "Marley" book that Anna loves - she has a real dog obsession - DOGGY - MAMMY DOGGY OVER DERE - OVER DERE" Grin There's a picture of Marley knocking over some stuff and in it he knocks over some vinegar bottles but they look like wine bottles and Anna always points at them and says "Pa" (thats what the girls call my Dad) Blush Actually that particular anecdote sounds a bit disturbing when I read it back Grin.

blizy Shock at 18th house party. Hope Alfie is well on the mend [ouch] Any word about appt with hospital psychologist?

Nice weekend here, haven't seen Mr W since Fri really, he's been working so saw some friends and spent some time with my Dad - its my grandads anniversary this weekend, so my Mum spends with it with her Mum and my aunt and they all go out for drinks lunch. It was a lovely day, even if A fell asleep in Mass and started snoring and O kept piping up "where's God?", "I'm bored" "are we done yet?". We were all giggling in the back row, my Nana could barely control herself with the snorting and giggling. Its as well S is so pious [eyeroll], she was practically shushing us - cue more giggling from the 86 year old!

ILovePonyo · 02/09/2012 22:03

Ha wiggles I'm laughing to myself at "where's god" and "I'm bored" I would have been in bits! So funny Grin
A can point at a beer bottle or pint and say "beer. Daddy" which is cute but I hope she doesn't say it at nursery Hmm
Anna is saying sentences, clever girl! Very impressed, A can point and say "og" when she sees a dog, it's very exciting for her though Smile

Off to bed soon, night all x

Emski76 · 03/09/2012 14:01

Hi all
It's Bens first day at school on Thursday do I have this week off work, yippee! But have broken my toe this morning walking into the gate on the kitchen door. Dh was already at work and Ben was fantastic. He offered me a plaster and got me his Mr Men cold pack from the fridge. I am so brave that I still managed to drive us both to the Dean Heritge centre ad go on the Gruffalo trail, which, by the way, was so worth it. Am laid on sofa now with very bruised foot elevated on cushions while Ben is on the kitchen drawing pictures of water mills!!!

I'm sure there was quite a bit I wanted to comment on but can't remember everything now.

Wiggles, loving the 'where's God?' comment, just brilliant.

And Ponyo, A saying beer Daddy is pretty funny too. These littlies can get us ino trouble can't they?!

Reastie, I stupidly went to Clarks on Thursday to have Noah's feet measured and it was so busy they were operating a ticket system! Needless to say I turned and walked out mumbling 'I'm not bloody queuing for half hour to get a baby's feet measured'!

Oh my, Ben has just walked in with his drawings that he has stuck together using stamps!blooming stamps! That's one expensive picture!!

reastie · 04/09/2012 09:57

Hi all,

Back to work today Sad . Should be in right now but MIL rushed to hospital again at the week end (panic not, she's fine) so DH and I are sharing today meaning I'm in late - bet work love me already this term!! ALice has been shocking at night recently so I'm already behind on sleep for a few weeks build up and got less than 5 hours last night (which for me is very little) Confused . Keep adding things to my to do list for work and just realised it's a parents evening in a couple of weeks and a week end bbq I have to go to in a couple of weeks too. And so the crazy workness starts......

ems good luck Ben for Thursday. I can't imagine Alice starting school - I think I'll be in pieces! I'm sure he'll be fine and you'll find it worse than him. Hope the toe is OK. Ouch. DH broke his toe a few years ago by accidentally running into the kitchen wall Hmm

Got Alice's feet measured but I think they've done it the wrong size. She's gone down 2 width sizes apparently Hmm . I'm very dubious and think they look too tight for new shoes, so will have to go back again to sort it out - like I have time!!

ponyo and wiggles love the beer and God comments Grin

Oh, and ponyo loving the new hair (although in fairness can't really comapre it to old one that easily!) and you don't look fat at all, so no worries for upcoming wedding piccies (I think that's what you said anyway but my memory is pretty awful from sleep deprevation ) . Oh, and btw no worries, I said no worries Wink

blizy · 04/09/2012 11:25

wiggles I hope Mr W is ok?

Just popping on to wish all the new starts the best of luck at school, and to pass round the tissues for the Mummies!

americanexpat · 05/09/2012 01:58

Hello hello!

Ems - hope your toe is OK and good luck for Wednesday.

wiggles - love O's comments. Grin

The heat has been unbelievable. DH corrected me and it's actually been 35C nearly everyday. [wilt] Thank god our flat has air conditioning. L has been fascinated by the ceiling fans too, keeps pointing and saying "What dat?" Grin I have already managed to lose my keys today, need to phone around again tomorrow then pay to have the lock replaced if they don't turn up. Angry The flat is still empty, but we have beds and my parents have loaned us a folding table and chairs. L coped with the time change surprisingly well - stayed up until bedtime on Wednesday then slept through as usual. I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything - we still have to buy a car and some furniture.

blizy · 05/09/2012 07:02

Reastie- how was work? Hope mil is ok.

Wiggs- o cracks me up Grin!

American- it must be quite daunting with the relocation. I hope your keys turn up!

Ponyo- Anya is so cute, I love her little bunches.

Right got to go, another busy day here.

Have a good day y'all.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 05/09/2012 09:39

Morning,

Emski owwww! How's the toe today? I didn't know a little toe could be broken so easily iyswim, your holiday can only get better though?!

Reastie ah yes I did worry about looking a bit podge for my friends wedding, thanks for being nice And saying I don't look it Grin I'll try and get a piccy of my new hair 'do up for the non facebookers. Erm, no worries...

American you are a brave woman - this relocating malarkey sounds stressful! Especially with the heat, phew.

Blizy hope work is ok

Right I'd better go do some work, hope everyone has a fab day Grin

Emski76 · 05/09/2012 10:47

Hi all
Ponyo, my little toe is literally red, blue, purple and swollen, as it the top of my foot! I must have hit the gate pretty hard! I still managing to get out a bit tho but have yo wear my running trainers as nothing else will go on my foot! At east their getting some use now!

American, sounds like you've got a bit of work to do over there!

Been for Bens consultation at his new school day then it's his first morning tomorrow. I almost cried after leaving the school this morning, goodness knows how I'll cope actually leaving him there tomorrow. I'm picking him up early from preschool today and were going to Frankie and Bennys for lunch. Yum.

Reastie, hope work is going ok

Have good days all.

blizy · 05/09/2012 12:28

emski Ouch to the toe! I broke my little toe a few years ago, it bloody hurts. I'm sure you will be ok tomorrow, Ben will love it! Enjoy lunch Envy.

ponyo Your hair looks fab, as do you !

Work is fine, just a busy week. My first full time week since before maternity leave! I'm just back from soft play, wee mindee is fast asleep ( I am enjoying the peace).

wiggles I hope all is ok? DH is going over to Belfast on Friday - Monday for a stag do, they are staying at the Days inn ! Hope the girls are enjoying being back at school.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 05/09/2012 19:27

All good here, well Mr Ws been busy in work Shock Grin,

blizy lucky dh living it up in good old Days [double snigger]

emski good luck for tomorrow xx Olivia started today, I brought her into the class and then stayed for about 1 second, tbh I could have done with a slight mournful look from her but no the vast array of toys and games were much more interesting than her Mum with something in her eye Grin

americanexpat I know you're a bit snowed (see my joke Grin) under but it sounds like you are doing fab xx

ponyo when's the wedding? Is it this weekend? I still haven't managed to melt a stone or several off me in time for the swanky do in Dublin Grin

tadjennyp · 05/09/2012 21:58

Sorry, it took me so long to read everyone's updates that I didn't have time to post myself yesterday!

Hope all first days are going well. A didn't give me a backward glance either, wiggles, you're not the only one. Sad Poor E doesn't get to start this year as he is not 5 for another couple of weeks. He thought he'd get to go on his birthday.

Astoria was cool, though it turned out to be over 7 hours drive away! I did take a couple of photos of the Goonies house so will try and add them when I get a moment. I took a photo of the Kindergarten Cop house from the Goonies house too! It's a veritable film set.

Love all the pictures and tales of baking. Hope toe gets better soon Emski, sounds right painful. Got to dash as E wants to play Candyland. American will know what I mean! Bye for now.

GOLDdebka · 05/09/2012 22:13

Ah buggeration, got behind again.

reastie been thinking of you starting back at bloody school, hope things improve and you get unexpectedly pregnant again then win the lottery and Alice starts miraculously sleeping through Grin

wiggles glad all well, tried to text you when I heard about Troubles, then remembered I don't really know you in RL Blush

blizy you and Zoe are always in my thoughts xxx Have you been prescribed any ADs?

expat oops to keys... phew to good sleeping from Leo :)

tad these goonoes refs are sailing straight over my head, have NO IDEA what you're on about!

emski schoolbag in hand.... Hope the toe is better soon.

Apologies to all I've missed :)

All ok here except S has come down with a cold- first one for months, we've been lucky this summer.

My mum bought the girls a Gro Clock with a monkey whose eyes open when it's time to get up. First morning they had it I had to rush in after hearing terrified screaming from Bean- MUMMY! NAUGHTY MONKEY!! EYES!! NAUGHTY MONKEY!!! Bless her Grin

reastie · 06/09/2012 11:59

Hi all, thanks for your good wishes re: work. Tbh this week has been pants so far. I forgot how rubbish it was and I am. Before pg I felt like I was vaguely good at my job and had the students' respect and barely any behaviour issues ever. Now the kids are so badly behaved in my lessons - I try all different tactics but nothing has yet worked. It's like I've lost all respect and power. It's so depressing. I have no idea if it's because I've lost my special something, or because they got in bad habits with the supply and resist being bought back to where they should be or they are just awful groups, but I am really struggling. I guess I thought things would be fine in the new academic year but they're not - I'm still coming home in tears at feeling so rubbish at my job.I'm feeling trapped now too as if I give up my job then essentially I'm giving up any hope of Alice going to private school Confused

ems good luck for Ben and tad and wiggles hope A and O are getting on OK

deb love the naughty monkey story. We have a gro clock but not as fancy pants as yours - just a light up night picture and day picture, but we haven't yet used it as I don't think Alice would get it, plus with her sleep issues we are all a bit random at night anyway. Hope Beans cold isn't a bad one. How's work going btw?

blizy hope you're busy week is going OK

wiggles I didn't hear anything of these troubles people speak of, but hope Mr Ws OK whatever is going on there

american are you going to change nn?! Glad the time change wasn't too bad for Leo, think that's something I'd be worried about too, they can be more adaptable than you think these little ones though can't they.

Oh, a shoe update - remember on Monday Alice was fitted with a 4 1/2 E? Took them back today and assistant took one look and was Shock as she agreed they were the wrong size - she's back at a 4 1/2 G, and her shoes cost £36 Shock Shock Shock . She has massive wide feet like her mother and because of her walking problem GP has told me to get very supportive shoes - which , it seems are hideously expensive as well.

Did anyone read that thread yesterday btw about a couple having sex in the works loos before it got taken down? Was like a live soap opera Shock

blizy · 06/09/2012 17:03

Offft what a day! Baby sent home ill, she was sick everywhere, had the runs and was screaming her head off! Poor wee sausage.Sad. Then the after schoolers were all fighting non stop.
I just realised I haven't had anything to eat all day, to top it off we are going to fil's for dinner! Stress is not the word!

Reastie- sorry work is a bit crappy just now.

Debka- I Grin at poor bean and the monkey!

American- I'm glad Leo (I keep typing Leon for some reason!) is settling well. You will be missing the Scottish weather then? It has been pouring all day long.

Emski- I hope you are ok and Ben enjoyed his first day at school?

Wiggles- I am so glad all is well, tell mr w to have a nice cosy cell ready for Dh and his friends at the weekend Wink.

OP posts:
GOLDdebka · 06/09/2012 18:29

reastie if I were in your shoes I would SO throw in the job. It sounds absolutely grimsville. I reckon your M (and emotional) H is worth as much as Alice's education. Hugs and sympathy xxx

BTW also read the sex in the toilets thread, it was awesome Blush

blizy blimey o'riley to poorly tummy, hope she's not infected everyone else. Good luck with dinner tonight...

Work is going GREAT, thanks, I really love it, more than I thought I would. I'm researching doing an NVQ now, although it would be quite expensive...

Hope everyone else is good!

Emski76 · 07/09/2012 06:24

Morning all

Well, Bens first morning at school went brilliantly! And neither of us cried! I'll post pics of him in his schools uniform later.

Reastie, I would seriously consider quitting,it sounds as tho your miserable there. Alice will get a good education in a public school too with the help of you and dh so don't feel bad about that. You are more important.

Deb, so pleased your enjoying work. What NVQ are you looking to do?

Blizy, yuck to sicky baby.

Hi to everyone else. Bens at school this morning so Noah and I are going to Rhymetime at the library then popping to have his feet measured. Ooh what an exciting life I lead!!!

Emski76 · 07/09/2012 14:46

Hellooooooo
I've just put a photo of Ben in his school uniform on my profile if anyone wants to take a sneaky peek xx
