Grin at American living the dream! It
It's have been so good to see your mum, won't be long until you see them again. I am Grin at Leo, lavishing all the attention- wise boy!

Wow american you sure are living the dream Grin

Well, let Alice sleep in this morning (I usually wake her most mornings) and she slept till 8:15 Shock - I had a shower and did the dishwasher and cleaned the bathroom all before she was awake Grin . Didn't walk her for a nap in the morning but she had 10 mins in the car on the way home from her gym class. Walked her for afternoon nap and she went to sleep within 20 minutes, which is good going from my point of view in light of recent hour long walks. So I'm crossing fingers taking out a nap and letting her wake up herself may be the answer to this. wiggles tbh I don't much fancy sitting in the car while Alice naps - it's the only time I get to do housework/prep dinner etc so I really value that time at home plus I have a very weak bladder and would be busting for the loo Wink I also don't have a phone with such modern advances as the internet to mn from Envy

Done my exercise DVD today since couldn't get to the gym. Have my weigh in at the gym on Saturday and am very excited. I've been trying really hard the past 2 weeks and I think I'll cry if I haven't lost anything!

needto how is MIL recovering?

WeAreBorg · 02/08/2012 20:37

Hello all,

blizy sounds good from the GP, glad she is nice. Also really pleased that your bloods are okay. You sound like a brilliant CM, I wish you lived near me.

american Grin yes it's so strange. It's amazing what chronic lack of sleep does, I have just realised how minging I had got but just didn't care. Since last week I have:
Been for a manicure/pedicure
Bought some new clothes! Not things I can breastfeed in, but actually nice clothes!
Done the shred several times and stopped eating cake 10 times a day
I now wear make up and do my hair.
I was winked at the other day Shock by an actual man and he was quite fit, and a random fella in the park said I was lovely ShockShockShock. He was old and possibly blind but it still counts.

reastie the amazing N is about to drop his nap entirely and seems much happier now he doesn't have to miss out on any day time action. I used to have to push him round for hours too, I think I thought he must be tired but apparently not.

wiggles lovely photos of the girls. A is ginormous though isn't she?

well, might have a watch of some olympic action, it's very addictive viewing isn't it?

debka · 02/08/2012 20:58

Hellloooooo everyone!!

Have you missed me? no Grin

blizy glad things are moving with the gp, am also Shock at stepkids thing.

wiggles lovely photos, Anna is so big!

ponyo omg you poor thing, up till 11am Shock

reastie if Alie were mine I'd be putting her to bed in her cot and letting her cry, there is no way I'd have had the patience you've had with all that ruddy walking. Presumably she sleeps in her cot at night? I think letting her sleep in the morning and going for one nap a day is also the way forward. My super sleeper Bean is also on one a day now, she was a bit tired in the morning for a while but she manages if I keep her busy.

borg you sexy thing Wink are you still bfing? Had a convo with a friend yesterday who said babies still bfing at 2 is wrong. I was like this Hmm. She told me that when she told her 5yo about bfing the 5yo gagged Hmm wonder where she picked that up from then Hmm

All fine here but I've just been mega busy, was so worried about having nothing to do during the hols that I've gone totally the other way and we've barely stopped. Plus I'm working too now, which is fine, just more busy-ness.

S is talking a lot more now, favourite words are naughty, go away and my turn- can you tell she has a rival big sister Grin.

blizy · 02/08/2012 21:57

Borg- check you put getting glam! Thanks for the cm comment, i do try by best with the kids.

Debka- Grin at beans new words, clever girl! How are your sister and Chloe?

Dh and I have been on the phone all day trying to get an appointment for him at the hospital ( he has to get a semen analysis). Can't get through on the bloody phoneAngry! He needs an appointment to hand in his swimmer sample.

Hope you all had a good day

ILovePonyo · 02/08/2012 22:09

Hi all, A slept from 7pm til 7.30 am yesterday - woop!

blizy bloody hospitals, so frustrating isnt it. Keep trying and good luck... I think you're a lovely sounding cm too, any word on the smelly boys btw?

Hiya deb Grin Wow clever Bean, very funny :) How is work? I saw a job advertised recently that is midwife support, was thinking about applying for it but it seems like a way into midwifery which I'm not sure I'd want to do Confused

borg you are a woman of mystery, put a picture of yourself on your profile now you're all glammed up!

reastie wow to A sleeping in, maybe she just needs more morning sleep?! Baffling isn't it. Good luck for the weigh in!

I took A to my friends this evening, she was having a bit of a 'do' as she's getting married next month, just a few friends and food, A was very good but shattered by the time we left at 9.30, I didn't even bath her just wiped her with a baby wipe and plopped her in bed Grin Bathtime in the morning!

Night all x

archareastie · 03/08/2012 11:40

deb can't wait for our meet up you busy lady Grin . I was reading a thread earlier on people who work full time and how they manage - can't fit everything in as it is and I'm on school holidays!!

oh ponyo are you thinking of changing jobs then? How's the house move/planning to move going btw?

blizy yes I forgot to ask re: the smelly boys but meant to Blush . Have you got through to the hospital yet? V v annoying. Are you and DH OK now after the bbq incident?

Wowsers borg you really are pushing the boat out there with all the beautifying Grin I feel like I've done well if I've brushed my hair, so clearly I'm still in the camp of not caring Blush . Yes agree with deb, would love to nose see a piccie. I bet you feel like a new woman with all this sleep Grin

Went to gym this morning but think I overexerted myself as went all dizzy and shaky and fainty Shock so came home. Clearly working out too hard Grin . Weighed myself on my dodgy home scales this morning and think I may have lost 4 lbs or so in the last 2 weeks - this may be little compared to debs losses but for me tis very good work Grin . I want to see how much fat I've lost on the posh gym scales tomorrow though as I can feel a few muscles I didn't have so madly hoping fat loss might be greater. Anyway, gtg pick up Alice from DM.

blizy · 03/08/2012 12:03

Hey all,

Reastie- yeah Dh and I are good thanks. I guess it was kinda my fault too, as I don't really speak to him about how I am feeling. He thought i was upset because i had a low reading on my cbfm!

Smelly boys are still smelly, I didn't quite have the guts to speak to their dad about itBlush. Anyhoo, I don't have them back until they start back school on the 16th. The problem should be away by then, as they will be back to their shower/bed routine for school. (hopefully)

Yikes to over doing or ant the gym tale it easy lady! 4lbs is fabby by the way!

Righto I'm off to visit my wee nephew for his birthday, laters all. Smile

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 03/08/2012 12:07

Since not working I appear to have less time for myself - not sure how that one worked out Grin

blizy hope you got through to the hospital - I'm sure I could think of a very puerile joke re swimmers Grin

debka are you enjoying work? tell all!

ponyo I don't bath the girls every day, Anna for all her adventuring is quite clean as are the other two Grin They always have been - its almost like they realised quite early on that I don't iron so decided to help me out by cutting down on the washing!

debka, reastie when is the meeting? Envy

Its pissing down here, think I might have to revisit the Lion King - Os top film atm - who by the way seems to be much better Grin

Have lovely Fridays!!

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2012 13:28

Hello all, I have a poorly girl oh no :( dp took her to the docs yesterday as she had a temperature and wasn't well, she has an ear infection. She seemed ok yesterday but was boiling hot and crying at 2am, ended up calling nhs direct. She has been asleep on the settee all day today, waking up to do a feeble cry every now and then :( Its like having a newborn!
We are alternating calpol and nurofen and just letting her sleep - thats best isn't it?

reastie how did the weigh in go?! Wink I am only thinking of changing jobs as there are more redundancies and pay cuts coming up at my work, it sucks and its not a secure field of work at the moment iykwim. No house news yet we are putting it on hold for a short while!

blizy belated happy birthday to your nephew :)

wigs Love the lion king Grin

Right I am making the most of A's poorlyness by cleaning the house Hmm very exciting. Happy saturday everyone!

archareastie · 04/08/2012 13:57

ponyo I missed the weigh in as I spent all yesterday feeling really shaky and sick (as in from hunger/overdoing exercise) after the gym so thought I needed a day off exercise. According to my questionable scales at home though I've lost 7 lbs since joining the gym Grin . It means I get the morning at home while DH and Alice are out with his family - so far I've had a massive long bath, done some reading and currently lounging in front of 'bad teacher' waiting for them to come back. I shall keep you updated on the weight loss and I will get there. Poor Anya Sad - did she get ear drops or oral anti bios?

wiggles meet up is scheduled for Friday. Glad Os throat is finally on the mend.

blizy men can be so rubbish about feelings and why we get upset can't they - they just don't have a clue!

MizK · 04/08/2012 15:46

Hello Feb ladies. hope you are all v well? These summer hols have played havoc with my MNing, soooo hectic round here! Enjoying the Olympics muchly, think Jessica Ennis has turned me cause I have developed a massive girlcrush on her. Hope she gets the gold she deserves, those abs should be rewarded...swoons
ponyo sorry to hear little pops is poorly :( give her a big love from us. Agree Calpol and sleep is the way forward, just go with it til she feels well again.
reastie your morning off sounds lovely, I think you should encourage them to do similar trips more often! Plus PIL get to see A without you having to put up with them :) PS whoop to your fitness/healthy eating, you will feel so much the better for it. Send some motivation to Nottingham for me, won't you? :)
blizy sounds like its all go with testing at the hospital etc! good luck with it all! x
borg sounds like you are becoming a glamazon, wish we could have a montage of your makeover set to uplifting music, a la Pretty Woman (not that I'm insinuating anything re your profession mind!) Pics?
deb is work going well? Hope you arent too shattered :)
Big hello to everyone else, got lots to catch up on, must do better :)

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2012 20:54

Ooh MizK I have a big crush on Ennis too, she's just fabulous isn't she?! Am waiting impatiently for 800m, come on Jess! Hope you and C are well, will text you soon about a meet up when A is better?

reastie your day 'off' sounds fab, how nice and relaxing! A has oral medicine which is good as she is surprisingly good at taking it, she gulps it down Shock

A perked up at 3ish so we took her to the park where she clung to me but at least she got some fresh air. She is sound asleep now so hoping for a peaceful night Hmm

Off to have some Wine and cheer at the olympics now, to think I wasn't bothered about them when they started Hmm at myself Grin

blizy · 04/08/2012 22:00

Ponyo- poor Anya, hope she is better soon.

Reastie- hope you enjoyed
Your day of peace?

Had a relaxing day with Dh, lunch and a stroll along the canal, now having a wee raspberry vodka. I am loving the athletics, what a night! Can't wait to see bolt running again.

Oh, I agree with mix k and Ponyo about J. Ennis.

Wiggles- you are such a buy thing now! Will you be minding Emma for the for-see able future? How old is he now?

I have a settling session with the new baby mindee on Monday, hope it's ok. The baby is only 6 months and will be with me one day a week. I hope she is not too strange with me.

Hope a good weekend has had by all. X

OP posts:
americanexpat · 06/08/2012 11:25

blizy - good luck with the new mindee today. Did you manage to get DH's hospital appt sorted?

reastie - your day sounds lovely, I think I need one as well. I always feel bad about leaving L at the weekend though, since I don't see him a lot during the week.

Ponyo - I hope A is feeling better now?

I feel like I'm not coping with the stress of the move very well. Sad I look around the house and see everything that needs to be done and get panicky. AIBU to just hire a skip and chuck everything in? Then open a bottle of wine? And the neighbours are complaining about the state of our gutters, which we've previously told the letting agent they need cleaning. She was a bit rude about it which made me less sympathetic to her complaints. Hmm

archareastie · 06/08/2012 12:50

american have I missed something but why would you be bothered by your guttering when you're moving really soon?! Hmm . I think chuck everything in a skip sounds very effective, just the stuff you don't want mind you Wink or else put bits on freecycle to try to get rid of them.

I loved my day of peace thanks, although the initial 3 hours of peace turned into over 5 hours Shock - I didn't know what to do with myself but I made myself not do any cleaning as I do it all the time! I think DH really liked going out with Alice on his own - he sounded really chuffed when he said Alice ran over to him and gave him a big hug when they were out Grin and I think he feels a bit second best when I'm around as Alice usually favours me.

We took Alice to a castle gardens yesterday and they had a water maze - where if you tread on certain blocks as you walk around you get splashed with water - Alice thought it was hilarious! Then we went to the adventure playground and Alice was on the slide with a girl who looked like she had chicken pox Shock - and I can tell you the spots were not yet scabbed over Shock [pfb] . She's got her pox booster next week so she'd better not get chicken pox in the mean time Angry

ponyo how's Anya?

four4 if you read this just want to say thanks for the physio advice re: alices feet a while ago - saw hv this morning who went against other hv on telephone and told me to see GP and push for physio referral to get it checked. Will keep you updated.

mizk I couldn't keep my eyes off J Ennis' amazing abs Blush . I'm now missing the swimming already all those hunky swimmers to stare at

debka · 06/08/2012 13:06

Hey everyone,

I'm with mizk, hols have really messed up my mning time!!

reastie that castle sounds amazing, where is it? We still on for fri?? fx for no pox.... although if she does get it, we'll defo do friday so my 2 can get it too...Wink btw what's up with A's feet?

ponyo hope little A is ok, ear infection sounds horrid :(

blizy hope your settling in session has gone ok :)

Onmehols you not back yet???

All fine here except I got a runny tummy so bad I spent the entire night on the toilet and then suffered the indignity of a return of the post-birth PILES OMG my poor bottom Grin

Work is going really well, thanks all those who asked. I'm really enjoying it, I think I'm quite good at it too Grin. Had my first 999 call on sat pm- old chap with severe dementia fell over and couldn't get himself up again so we had to call the ambulance to stand him up. He was fine, but last night when I went back he was in bed with a temperature and a horrible cough and was almost totally non-responsive. GP put him on ABs but tbh I wonder if it would be better to just let him die quietly. Poor bugger, he's not got much of a life now.

americanexpat · 06/08/2012 13:12

reastie - I'm not bothered by it, as you said we're moving. Grin The gutters badly need cleaning and I told the letting agent over a year ago that it was overflowing when it rains. The neighbour (terraced house) is now complaining that it's "growing" into their gutters and asked for the letting agent's details. I'm sympathetic that it's a problem but she was a bit rude which made me Hmm.

blizy · 06/08/2012 15:47

Hello, hello!

Debka- I'm glad work is going well.Sad. For the old man though.

American- I was a mega stress head when I moved house, I only moved 5 mins away skin can only imagine how stressed you are.

Reastie- how sweet that your Dh was pleased Alice have him a hug. Alice sounds like such a cutie.

Phew, settling session went well. Baby bus utterly gorgeous and such a delight. Although she weighs a tonne! She is back on Monday for another session.

I finally got through to the hospital (only took 4 days). However the appointment is not until 26th sept.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 06/08/2012 19:30

blizy glad settling session went well. Ems is 6 months old now Shock, I have her about 3 times a week at the minute. I'm really enjoying it, it can be a bit maniac having A and Ems so close in age but it's easier for me than my old job Grin I just stick them all in the car and take them shopping, to the park, do my messages, everything with I do with my 3 plus the baybee Grin

american turf it all in the skip, open the Wine, then turf out what you were afraid to before you had the wine Grin

debka so glad you are enjoying work, am sure you are fab at it x

ponyo How's A today?

ILovePonyo · 06/08/2012 21:57

Hello all, thanks for asking about A, she is better today :) she was still ill yesterday but perked up today, I was at work so dp took her a sort of gymnastics for kids, she loved it Grin but hardly slept all day so we put her to bed at 6.15 this evening.
The only problem with her being ill is she's not eating much so has been waking for a bottle in the night, the day before she got ill we decided to drop the 'bot bots' but that plan has gone out of the window!
Anyone else still giving bottles? We only do one in the morning and one at night, but want to cut out the morning one when shes better.

Sad news about Gary Barlow and his wifes baby :(

blizy how are you feeling? Glad baby mindee settled well, I feel like my arms should be all toned from carrying heavy old A around - but they're not boo Grin

wiggles I've said it before, you always sounds so laid back about carting FOUR Shock kids about, I don't know how you do it, I stress with one Confused

deb glad work is ok, sounds interesting and you sound good at it. Sad about the old man.

american ugh moving house is such a massive stress, 10 times more with what you're doing! Any decisions on the skip?!

Just watching a nice looking young man win the boxing Grin ooh these olympics are hard viewing aren't they Wink

debka · 07/08/2012 07:54

Glad A is better now ponyo. S hasn't had a milk feed for months but a friend of mine with a DS the same age still has 2 or 3 bottles a day- she is also trying to cut them down.

wiggles you're a saint having four of them!

expat I'd skip it too Grin

blizy 26th sept sounds like ages away, but it will come round soon enough.

So sad to hear of Gary and Dawn Barlow's loss :(

Little Bean woke at 6.30 and was thumping around and Mummy-ing away in her cot but I was too tired to get up she then went back to sleep!!! yay!! It's nearly 8 now and I'm only hearing vague mama's from imogen.

americanexpat · 07/08/2012 09:01

How horrible about Dawn and Gary Barlow's baby. Sad

deb - xposted with your earlier post, how sad about the man with dementia.

wiggles - I like the way you think re wine and skip. Grin

Ponyo - L has been off bottles since 13 months or so. Can you try offering her a cup in the night?

archareastie · 07/08/2012 18:28

Hi all,

deb how's that tummy of yours today? Btw it was Hever Castle we went to - we have annual membership there like every other tourist attraction vaguely near us it seems . Yes to Friday, we can always go to Hever if you'd rather, but you'd have to pay then Grin . Btw Alice walks with pigeon toes and trips over her feet when walking, which is why I saw the hv.

Poor Gary Barlow and his family Sad . Was listening to the radio earlier and they were discussing it and people were ringing up with their stories and it made me cry Sad .

wiggles you must have a big car to fit all those car seats in Grin

ponyo I've been wondering the very same thing re: milk feeds. Alice still has a bf first and last thing and sometimes in the night when she won't settle and at some point I want to cut out the morning milk but I don't really know when is the 'norm' so will be interested for responses as I don't really know how or when to go about this - do you just give them bfast as soon as they wake up then? I quite like lazing in the bed giving Alice her milk Grin . FWIW a friend of mine with a DS the same age still gives her DS 3 bottles a day - first thing last thing and the afternoon, she was Shock when she asked when Alice dropped her afternoon feed and I said in January Hmm

blizy glad the baby behaved themselves - hope it continues. Must be nice for you and their parents when they look like they'll settle in easily.

Well, got weighed at my posh gym scales today and in the last 2.5 weeks according to their scales I've lost nearly a stone Shock . Sadly, I don't believe it though as according to my battered old slightly questionable scales at home I've lost maybe if I pushed it half that max. I know that's still v good, but I can't believe the stone thing maybe it was as I'd just finished my workout and I had sweated out half a stone . Took Alice swimming at the gym yesterday and wished I hadn't - was full of older children splashing and throwing things around and Alice just got scared and cried Sad . Stupid parents not watching their children - maybe they think if they pay enough for the gym they can use it as day care or some such Angry [pfb]

wigglesrock · 07/08/2012 21:00

reastie well done, yay you should be so pleased with yourself. Start believing in yourself Grin

ponyo see to be honest - I never stress about the bottles Blush, Sofia was well off them by about 18 months, Olivia kept her bedtime one on for a lot longer and no bloody way am I trying to take Annas bobo away from her. You wouldn't like her when she's angry Grin I asked my dentist re teeth etc because Olivia also took a dummy and Sofia was and still can be a bit of a digit sucker and he told me not to stress until they're two and he's very annoying eager re teeth care. He has 3 children all in around the same age as mine [shrug] But whats strange is he has 2 boys both of which have names we considered for the girls and his youngest is a Sofia Shock So I guess we're bound for life Grin even though he despairs of my teeth. Apparently grown women shouldn't eat candy floss and refresher chews Shock Bet his house is a barrel of laughs Grin

Took all the girls to a National Trust house/farm thing (we're members) and had to stop Anna climbing in with the goats Blush My head is turned with her adventuring at the minute.
