I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

reastie · 24/07/2012 18:26

ems I rarely even turn my phone on Blush I have no friends . People know to call or email me. I had DHs old snazzy touchscreen phone for a while but then he wanted it back - mind you all i used that for was to play games with! I think I must use about £20 of credit a year on a good year Grin

wiggles we all have IL issues whereas you have M issues Hmm

Just done a quick house tidy downstairs, now upstairs to go, oh the joy!

wigglesrock · 24/07/2012 20:16

I too have a very basic mobile phone Grin I just text on it.

reastie I have a Billy Bookcase (I'm such a MN cliche Grin) downstairs and the lower shelves have the girls books and dvds on it, they can empty it to their hearts content and then tidy it up before bed. I also have a treasure chest (Ikea) that all their small toys are kept in and again they can upend it during the day as long as everything is thrown back in by 7ish. Sofia and Olivia keep their room tidy, well they tidy it two or three times a week and As room just has some teddies in it and her cot. We have a spare room which is a bit of a playroom but S and O have the responsibilty of squaring it up every wek or so.

Anna gets given some milk at around 6/6.30 and then bed. If she's up later or wakes up later in the evening she doesn't get toys to play with. No toys for the baby after bedtime - its one of my parenting rules Grin

emski well done on signing up for the course, I'm Envy, I'd like to do something like that. You and dh spending time alone at the beach tomorrow Shock Hope you don't nip up to any sand dunes like a pair of teenagers Wink

blizy hopefully now that you've spoken to dh and will speak to GP, you will start to feel a bit of relief and maybe get some more sleep. In my experience depression is very like money worries as soon as you've spoken to someone about it, life gets a little easier xxxx

Well waters have been smoothed over with my Mum. Conversation started badly - she pulled the old chesnut of apologising by not apologising ie "I'm sorry if you felt that ...." She got a look and "that's not an apology, its a justification" minor rant but all swept under the carpet fixed until next time Grin

blizy · 25/07/2012 18:21

Hi girls,

Well this strange hot, orange ball appeared in the sky today Shock. I spent the day at the park with mindee and had a long walk, was really nice. Just waiting on dh coming home from work, he is on dinner duty tonight (fajitas), yum.
I got a Dr appointment today for next Wednesday morning (yikes).

Hope you all had a good day.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 25/07/2012 19:55

blizy Snap Grin and said orange ball is meant to be sticking about for at least a day or so Shock

Glad you got appt - yum to fajitas, they're my fave.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 25/07/2012 22:58

Hello there,

blizy how was the docs? I hope you were able to speak freely and get some help x

I love all this talk about mobiles, I would love my old Nokia to still work but I had to get a new phone and it's a touchscreen one that i find really difficult to use but love the instagram app Blush

ponyo how's the sleep situation? B is improving but very slowly and he's hardly napping now but that might be due to the weather. I'm with wiggs on the no toys etc in the night; he's not allowed out of his cotbed

I bought myself a cross trainer that arrived today; wow, it is incredible! OH and I have been using it this evening and my legs already hurt, I'm so unfit. Hoping to shift the last of the pg weight as its really annoying me now and I can't afford the gym so will do this and the shred and see how it goes.

Had b weighed and measured today, he was such a nightmare and just clung to me crying, no idea why Confused. He's had a growth spurt and is now 83cm and 23lb 13oz Shock. Still waiting for the bowel appt but he is finally going everyday nearly. Hope he doesn't have to take these laxatives for much longer but if they make him better I guess it's worth it.

Did anyone see the Jon Richardson programme last night about OCD? It was so interesting, I was diagnosed with OCD tendencies years ago (to do with emetophobia) and after watching that programme I had a chat with DM about the genetic link, it turns out that we have very similar compulsions, very odd.

This weather is great, I hope it lasts, I'm like a lizard and need the sun Wink. Hope you're all enjoying it too.

wigglesrock · 25/07/2012 23:05

NeedToSleep I saw that programme. I love Jon Richardson Blush, he is tres handsome. I thought the programme was brilliant, really moving and very well done - everyone involved was treated with respect and bits of it were terribly sad.

Glad B is getting some relief re the bowels and hope appt comes through quickly.

Mr W is off watching Batman [yawn], I actively dislike Christian Bale so declined to accompany him Grin

ILovePonyo · 26/07/2012 07:49

Morning all, well A was awake at 5 so we've already had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, if I'm up early I may as well have some nice brekkie Grin
Luckily tho no probs getting her to sleep last night, could be a coincidence but I got a fan for her room, think it helped.
She had a horrible cough, is teething and has a change of routine at nursery with starting in the toddler room so im hoping it's a phase and will sort itself out soon Confused Hmm

Needto glad B is a bit better with the poos, must be better for him going regularly! Youre good with the cross trainer, you look v slim and pretty on your fb pics Envy
One of my bestie mates is getting married in sept so I need to sort my fat self out for the wedding, I'm eating lots of junk food at the no which I blame on being on my period (excuses)

Blizy you have to wait a while for your docs appt don't you?! Good for you for getting one tho hope it goes ok.

Wiggles what have you got planned for your 4 today? Wink

Off to get ready soon, back later

blizy · 26/07/2012 07:52

Wiggles- I heart Christian Bale.

Ponyo- the dr I want to see only works 3 days a week, so a long wait.

Back to rain here todaySad think I will have to suffer soft play laterSad. Got to go mindees are arriving in 5 mins.

OP posts:
NeedToSleepZZZ · 26/07/2012 08:09

Oh wiggles I love Jon Richardson too, I loved him on 8 out of 10 cats when jimmy Carr had been found out about his tax avoidance. You're right that it treated the condition with respect rather than making it like some kind of freak show like channel 5 does. Very moving viewing.

ponyo glad things are improving with a, sounds like she's dealing with a lot so hopefully when things settle she'll be back to normal. Ben woke up at 7am this morning!! Shock I was awake and worrying about him, he never does that!

Been on x trainer this morning, it's really good fun, I will make the most of it until the novelty wears off Grin

Have good day everyone!

reastie · 26/07/2012 08:42

needto Envy of your cross trainer - sounds great, plus, you can watch rubbish TV or perhaps radio 4 while you work out Wink . I've been tres good and been to the gym 3 times this week despite the heat [smug]

ponyo hopefully once Anya has settled into the toddler room she might settle a bit more Hmm . Pancakes for breakfast sounds like a good idea. I had the genius Hmm idea of us having bfast outside this morning - cue lots of faffing about getting the high chair outside, attaching it to the outside table, lots of mess all over her to clear up and Alice being very moany as she didn't have cbeebies to keep her distracted wish I hadn't bothered tbh

wiggles that non apology from your mum sounds v annoying - I hate it when someone does that to me as I'd rather they said nothing - it's just insulting to hear 'I'm sorry you felt that I....' . Btw your house sounds v organised with your lots keeping rooms tidy Envy

Gtg Alice crying

americanexpat · 26/07/2012 10:45

reastie - sometimes I wonder why I bother doing stuff with L because he just seems to moan through some of it. But there's always the chance she'll love it and you'll be so pleased. :)

Envy at Borg's cleaner and Needto's cross-trainer. I've not managed the gym this week as we've been so busy.

blizy - it was scorching yesterday. Shock I couldn't believe it. I managed to get 3 loads of washing outside before noon!

L has started crying when I leave him at nursery, it's heartbreaking. Sad He was fine at the other nursery, it's just been since he moved to the new one.

debka · 26/07/2012 11:03

Hey everyone,

Glad B's insides are improving, needto, don't worry about him having movicol though, it's very gentle and won't do any harm long term.

reastie well done you for getting to the gym 3 times, tres impressed. Whenever we eat outside the girls just run round all excited and eat nothing so we don't do it very often!

Yay to sun in the northern and western chilly regions Grin. Still beautiful here, we've been to the beach every day and had a swim in my mum and dad's outside pool every day too. Girls are knackered every day at bedtime!

I've borrowed my mum's old bike and started cycling Shock- cycled to the shop this morning for the paper then back a long lane-y way, was just lovely, although I did have to push the bike up a couple of hills Blush. My aunt's got the girls so I am free and easy, yay!

reastie · 26/07/2012 13:21

deb well done you on the cycling. I hate cycling as I always get a painful sore bum the next day Blush - maybe I just need to toughen them up or a nicer seat Wink . We've got one of those child carriers on the back of DHs bike but it was a freebie from freecycle and we don't think it has all the parts as it doesn't stay in place Shock so we've been too scared to use it with Alice in. Btw did you get my pm re: meet up?

american poor you and Leo re: crying at nursery. I imagine it's just settling in to somewhere new?? Do they say if he's happy during the day after you've gone? I know how heart breaking it is though (remember A does this with MIL) - my legs physically shake when I leave her Sad . How long is it for?

Gtg, got a friend coming over with her DS in a min but just need a sit down with my feet up for a min - gym class with Alice this morning again and then dashing to get her lunch early and then to sleep early so she's awake when her little friend comes over. Suffering with AF today and I think the heat too - don't think I've been drinking enough xtra with all the sweating in the heat at the gym I've been doing Confused

debka · 26/07/2012 21:55

I've PMed you reastie :)

Hope you got a bit of a rest today, sounds exhausting.

WeAreBorg · 27/07/2012 01:26

Blizy did you get to the doctors?
Wiggles I am shocked and horrified that you don't fancy Christian bale, I can't wait to see batman
Need to glad Ben slept well, really hoping his bowels settle.
Debka ooooh a pool, well that puts my stealth boast about my cleaner to shame! Very jealous
Reastie before this wondrous iPhone I had a brick and never called anyone

Well Nate continues to defy expectation and sleep well, eat well and generally be good fun. It's really odd.

blizy · 27/07/2012 07:22

Borg- have you swapped Nate for a better sleeper?Wink seriously though, I am glad he has changed. Must such a relief to sleep normally again!

Needto- I am Envy of your cross trainer. I hope ben's bowels continue to improve.

Reastie- how did your day go?

Not heard from Chocco or delia in a while, if you are lurking HELLO!

no work for me today, I have to go shopping for Dh birthday present (it's on Sunday).

My weight loss has stopped, when I'm feeling down I comfort eat and it s not good! I really need to try and break it.

OP posts:
reastie · 27/07/2012 08:05

blizy did you see the piccie of Choc holding the olympic torch on fb? - maybe she's a secret athlete ready to compete or some such Wink . Reminds me my gym have the olympic torch coming there for the day so you can pose and have your piccie taken with it - but you have to pay a fiver for the privilege Shock - with my extortionate fees I think I'll pass on that Hmm . Have you caught up on sleep yet btw?

deb have pmed you and meant to say Envy of your Mums pool. My attempt to out stealth boast you is my parents have a tennis lawn and croquet lawn very naice , but, tbh, I'd take the pool in preference any day Grin

Had a good day yesterday. Alice was very sweet with her little friend. They were on the little see saw and Alice kept signing 'more' and pointing at the little boy to play together on the see saw but he was having none of it and would only go on it if she wasn't on it Hmm Sad

borg nate sounds like the dream child at the minute - just how did that happen?!

Gym again this morning. I'll tell you when I get myself weighed in a week or so I'd better have lost some weight Grin

wigglesrock · 27/07/2012 10:07

Morning, my computer is being bold, so if I disappear mid post again Angry I'll not be best pleased. I'll have to get Anna to jump on it again - it likes that Hmm

Yes have had 4 girls all week, have now definitely decided three is more than enough Grin E is brilliant, content to watch the other three, but its the whole rigmarole of having baby things again. My house has suddenly acquired a bumbo, a baby bouncer etc. We had just got used to throwing an extra nappy etc in a bag and heading out, but now its double buggy!

reastie enjoy the gym, glad you and Alice enjoyed yesterday.

If we're stealth boasting re parents Grin, mine have a garage full of wine Grin

blizy enjoy the shopping Grin

Anna is being what's the polite way to say it .... a handful Grin You know when you watch a film like Parenthood and there's a child in it running around with a bin on its head, trying to climb into the toilet, ripping all the tops of yogurt etc well need I say more. Although she is also really funny and huggy and non stop talking Grin

I'm a bit concerned re Olivia, this is day 5 of the antibiotic and although she looks a bit better/more healthy her throat has been sorer the past 24 hours and her temp isn't great Sad

Hope everyone thats away on hols Envy is having a fab time and the sun is shining!

archareastie · 27/07/2012 15:17

nn change in honour of the olympics Grin

wiggles I definitely would have cracked by now with 4 Shock to look after. You win hands down on the stealth boasts Wink maybe you should break in and help yourself to all of it some. Poor Olivia - would the GP try a different antibiotic or is this super strong one the best thing going? Did I imagine it or did you say she may have to have her tonsils out? Btw not in a nasty way but I'm glad a seasoned pro such as yourself is finding Anna a handful - makes me feel a bit better when I feel bogged down with Alice when she finds herself being spirited.

Can you believe I forgot my trainers in my gym bag so couldn't go to the gym Blush Blush . was genuinely looking forward to it as well.Had to make do with the shred. First time on level 3 today Shock by gum that was hard. I may not be able to walk tomorrow! needto how is the cross trainer going?

I'm a bit of a saddo but I'm starting to genuinely look forward to watching the opening ceremony on the olympics tonight. My radio station of choice is a London based talk station and they have been bigging it up all day, not to mention BBC news' tedious live footage of various olympics based things. I keep telling everyone I was there you know, when they announced London had won the olympics allbeit by accident with Kelly Holmes et al at Trafalgar Square watching the red arrows go over head [proud]

Best go, Alice is very nap resistant at the minute and walking her to sleep takes longer every day, which I guess is good for my fitness but not so good for my busy cleaning schedule Hmm

MizK · 27/07/2012 16:19

Ello darlings, haven't been on for an age cause of the byoodiful weather... TBH I'm knackered after a week of parks and picnics with the three DCs plus assorted friends and hangers on!
reastie wow Level 3 shred, I did it once and decided it was too hard for my feeble self! Sounds like you are on a proper fitness kick, really pleased for you as I know you were a gym bunny pre baby so must be nice to be back on it!
wiggles love to Olivia, poor baby. Hope she gets better soon, must be a worry. And recognise your description of A, she sounds like my Casspops, completely insane but amusing with it :)
blizy hope shopping trip was a success, I'd buy him a watch and say he has no excuse for getting in late ever again :)
borg fancy doing a baby swap for a week, just to keep your hand in at dealing with a crazed child you understand? :)
deb hope you enjoyed your child free day, sounds lovely, and v envious of your parents pool indeed!
Wave to onmehols and all of you ladies I missed, am v much enjoying cass watching Show me Show me which I have on Series Link as well as balamory...we have been so busy this week, she is loving all the outdoorsy fun and having her big brother and sister around.
Wish I was getting to watch the Olympic ceremony later but am out for dinner with PILS,SIL and her husband.... God help me. May have to hit the sangria hard!

blizy · 27/07/2012 16:33

wiggles Poor Olivia, hope she is ok. Have you looked in her throat, does he have yellowish blisters? I am Grin at your description of Anna.

reastie Go you with level 3 of the shred! I am looking forward to the opening ceremony too!

mizk Ha ha ha I am Grin at buy a watch, if only that was all it took! Enjoy your sangria dinner.

I survived shopping- just! Am i the only girl who doesn't like it? I got dh a few xbox games, a t-shirt and I have booked him a racing car driving experience. It is my sis and nephews birthday next week too, I am super skint now!

I am having another down day, it didn't help whilst shopping all of the songs playing in the shops were sad. I may have lost it a little when puff daddy's I'll be missing you came on. Oh, when i was in clintons looking at the knick knacks something fell and landed at my feet, it was a wee plaque thing: best Daddy, it had a wee angel on and said "I am your gaurdian angel sent to watch over you". How strange, of course i had to buy it. Maybe Zoe had wanted me to get it for her Daddy! (well freaked out though!)

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 28/07/2012 20:04

Hello, just a quick post from me -

took A to the docs yesterday as she has a 40 a day smokers cough, apparently her chest is clear though Hmm the doc gave us some piriton though which we are drugging her to sleep with Grin

She is better though and was up at 6.30 today which was fine by me, especially as I went to bed at 9.45 the night before Shock We had a nice day at a nature reserve today, she fell and scuffed her knees properly when chasing the ducks, god that made for some crying, very nice day in the sun though.

blizy aw at Z's guardian angel - of course you had to buy it! I hate shopping for presents too but me and dp don't really bother now, we just tell each other if theres something we want so the other one can get it, boring old saddo's that we are :) Sorry that youre feeling down, hope dh looks after you.

Mizk how was the dinner?! Hope you're not feeling too rough today :) Will text you soon about having a little get together...

archareastie love the namechange Grin I didn't watch the olympic ceremony but missed something good but weird by the sounds of it?! I loved blizys fb comment about the ball sack at the end, ha!

better go tea is ready, back later ladies

ILovePonyo · 28/07/2012 20:06

Oh meant to say, I had my first session at cruse, it was ok, there is a 3 month wait for regular sessions but I'm fine with that. It was nice talking about my dad, I got upset of course but did that thing where I tried not to cry when really I should have done if that makes sense? I hate crying in front of people! At last if its dp I can bury my face in his shoulder and snot on him glad I went though.

wigglesrock · 28/07/2012 20:26

I watched the ceremony last night, I really liked it and I really didn't think I would. Like an eejit I sat up until almost 1am to see the end. Like an even bigger eejit I took the girls to the zoo today. Our zoo is built on a mountain hill, you practically need oxygen to get up to the top Grin

We had a fab time, although I had to stop Anna from jumping into the prairie dog field Blush and she also tried to wriggle between the fence at the elephant/zebra bit. Although the sea lions freaked her out a bit and she had a bit of a snuggle before hunting down some otters!

I'm still not happy with Os general health/throat, Mr W is off on Mon so deffo getting back to the GP.

ponyo really glad you got your initial session with Cruse. I heart Piriton works on Sofia, not so much the other two Grin

Am sitting watching the swimming with S & O, eating ice-cream sliders Grin, Sofia finished her swimming school on Friday and its gone to her head. On Monday she couldn't swim and she got a medal on Fri morning and not just for full attendance Grin. She is beside herself with excitement re the Olympics - it brings together all her favourite things - stats (she's her fathers child!), sport (not sure who she takes that after!), and she loves learning about flags etc. I got her an Olympics t-shirt yesterday and she has worn it all day and had to be persuaded to change into her pjs!

blizy xxxx

NeedToSleepZZZ · 28/07/2012 21:32

wiggles that sounds tough with O's throat, are you heading back to the docs? Maybe she needs something different as she may be immune to those abs??
Sorry but I just Grin at the thought of your zoo, I hope this isn't hideously offensive but I just had an image of the fairground on craggy island in father ted ( one of my favourite episodes!). I stayed up to ridiculous o clock last night too watching the opening ceremony, it was great wasn't it? Had to turn it off when they wheeled out macca though, can't stand him.
Re A, there's nothing like a spirited child is there? Wink B is like that but very cuddly too so sort of redeems himself sometimes

reastie lvl 3 of the shred Shock you are amazing! What's happened to us on here? Seems like we have all the fit mums now! X trainer is fab but I'm nowhere near as dedicated as you so the weight will take a lot longer to come off. I am thinking about getting the shred DVD out again but maybe doing it 3 times a week instead of every day.

ponyo so pleased the cruse session went well, remember you can talk about your dad on here too, it really can help to just reminisce sometimes x

Felt like a zombie today from staying up late last night real lightweight here, took all my strength to go shopping this afternoon and off to bed in a minute.

Quick update on B, he's pooing so much more now, it's great! We had an appt at the hospital on Friday with the surgeon about the cyst on his penis and it turns out that it isn't a cyst at all, hooray! It's a smegma pearl Confused and will eventually disappear with no treatment. So happy and relieved, couldn't imagine him having a ga.
OH's mum has become worse again and been put on some more abs, she's lost so much weight now as can't keep food down. Think they're trying to hurry her op up fingers crossed.

Other than that, all is well here. OH has an interview for a job on thurs which would pay more so we're hoping he gets it but it is quite a step up from what he's doing now so it's a long shot.
