Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

She most definately is 1 Nickel! and so is TTBaby. So who's next on the birthday list?

I second CC, that is one damned cute pic! How do you find the time to sew with a baby in the house? I finally bought a desk for sewing and my machine is still down stairs undercover.

Ds has his birthday at the end of August. Esk's little one has hers just a few days before?

Think I'm going to have a really small family meal or BBQ (if summer makes an appearance) for ds. Trying to decide what to buy him. Was thinking a family pass for the zoo, but would be probably suited better as a second birthday prezzie. Guess I he will have to wait Wink Very excited as dh's family have a cute tradition of having a hedgehog birthday cake, so mil is going to make him one Grin

Just realised that ds is nearly one and still has no teeth. Did I post that he finally got one (again) and it has disappeared (again!)

P.s. ds has had terrible sleep in the past few days. I have came to bed early, but instead of sleeping I'm fretting about how tired I will be tomorrow if I don't hurry up and get to sleep Hmm

Hope everyone else is getting enough shut eye.

Ooh happy birthday mini-fvp and mini-ttl.
I think your DS and my dd are the same day cc, and val's DS is a few days later. We're not doing anything major for her, my parents are visiting so we'll probably go out for the day, there are a few lovely animal parks around here that I'm sure dd will enjoy.
For a present I was thinking a sand pit, a push along/ride on toy of some description, probably reins Grin. I'm sure I'll get carried away when the time comes and DH will despair as to where we'll put it all, and I'll suggest we move house Grin

I hardly dare say it but we've had a couple of months of good sleep now, ie 7.30-6 solid sleep. Daytimes are a bit more hit and miss but I'll accept that for a good night's sleep! Hope your DS sorts his out soon cc.

Am in awe of nickel having time to sew whilst working ft and looking after dd. I love knitting and sewing but don't seem to get time for either!

fedj - my sewing was done upstairs at the shop after hours.
provided she's got entertainment i can sew while she's there Grin it takes longer, though, because there are constant breaks to talk to her

CC - Confused re teeth Shock

Report
CuriosityCola · 10/07/2012 15:32

The tooth breaks through and then the gum is sore and swells, hiding the tooth again. Sad

Sitting enjoying a homemade scone, while ds snoozes in his pushchair...bliss! I don't get enough of these peaceful moments.

Report
nickelbarapasaurus · 11/07/2012 13:41

how strange!
I've just this second finished a homemade (by DH) cheese muffin! Grin

I did expect it to be like a scone, but it was more like an American Muffin but cheesey instead of cakey.
absolutely gorgeous.
yummy yummy Grin

DD is with her godmother at lunch.
I want a cup of tea with an adult.

she's poorly at the moment, anyway.
she woke up this morning with snotty feeding, and did 2 massive sneezes with snot attached. [eww]
she looks like she's spent weeks awake (dark circles) but she slept really well last night.
she's being fussy and clingy, but not annoyingly so. she's just full of cold.

Report
CuriosityCola · 11/07/2012 15:42

It's such a shame when they have a cold. Ds is just getting over one and I keep finding snot on my shoulder...disgusting!

Report
nickelbarapasaurus · 11/07/2012 15:45

[ewwwwwwwwwwwww]

she's been hard to entertain today.
not that i've made enough effort- she wants to snuggle, but if i try to, she grabs my hair, and it hurts, so I'm reluctant. if i think that means she wants to eat, she doesn't, she sucks and then pulls off. done. don't know what to do.
I've been trying distraction techniques. Wink

Awh Nickel she's GAWGEOUS!

We are on our last day of hols here - in Mallorca. Been awesome as we took my Mum - haven't really seen DS for 10 days Grin Miss him even though he is here Blush He has learnt to pretty much stand with minimal support and sprouted two more teeth - 8 now (sorry CC!)

OMG CC - is the Hedgehog birthday cake a Jane Asher one? The spikes chocolate buttons?? That is our family tradition too. You haven't reproduced with one of my brothers have you Hmm Wink. I am making DS one!

As for DS's first birthday (31 Aug) we are having a big bash but are fully aware it is more for us than him! It's a Friday so I was going to have Mama and baby friends over mid-arvo and then my 'adult' friends over for a party in the evening. It's sort of house warming (although been there 9 months) too, and a kick to finally sort our garden out. Again, relying on nice weather for a BBQ Confused

We are going to get him one of these with the hope it has a bit of longevity!

Report
CuriosityCola · 11/07/2012 20:21

Not sure if it's a Jane Asher one. It does have chocolate button spikes and a cherry nose Grin

she's got a full-blown cold.
she's had two feeds already since we got to work (normally would have just started her first)
she's been crying and snotting and sneezing.

She hardly slept all night, because she can't feed because she can't breathe.
i had to get up with her at 2ish to give her calpol and smother her in baby vicks.

Report
CuriosityCola · 12/07/2012 13:57

Do you have a calpol plug? It has an annoying blue light on it, but works wonders for clearing their noses at night.

Report
nickelbarapasaurus · 12/07/2012 16:10

no, but she's in with us, so i don't think it'd work.
the baby vicks works okay.

she's rather cheerful - snotty but cheerful. Grin

I just plug it in for half an hour before we go to bed, it gets a little bit strong when you don't have a cold. Still co-sleeping here too. I'm sure there is a brand that is better, but I can't think of the name for it.

Hope she feels better soon.

Ds has been up most of the night for the second night running. Sad I think his teeth (gums!) are bothering him as he is trying to sleep and flinging himself about the place. Very dramatic. I don't really like giving too much calpol, as it could be like this for another day/week/month. Anyone got any advice?

Also, had him weighed this week and he has dropped slightly (due to teeth and being poorly) I think. He was 35th percentile and is now 25th. I asked for his length to be done out of interest and he is on the 98th percentile! Debating whether I should be trying to up his calories? Not sure how to do that without them being bad calories e.g. Puddings.

Thank goodness for my carrier. Dh has just got him back to sleep, so going to try and grab 40 winks. How is everyone else this fine morning?
(sorry for miserable postBlush)

:(

i think if he's teething, then he needs more comfort food - milk is the best and then normal food as normal iyswim.
upping his calories can just mean giving more fat and protein.
what's your typical diet (and how old is he again? is he the 1-yo?))
