Hello fellow April mums. Following on from our lovely ante-natal threads, here's the first of the post-natal ones. Join us as we work out how to handle nappies, feeding, colic, crying and all things newborn, or just to celebrate the joys of a new baby!

Added :) I find it easier if I can put a face to a name, also wonder what all these wonderful babies look like. Harry is beautiful.

Friend requests sent, need to be accepted please ladies. You may wish to report your posts to MN to ask they are deleted to prevent you being linked to your profile by google happy family/colleagues in the future though!

Flisspaps · 07/06/2012 23:50

Ok - group is set up, MN April 2012

Hopefully I've done it right... Confused

HollyPockett · 08/06/2012 00:48

Hayley just friend requested you. Initials (HD). Then I'll search for group!

justhayley · 08/06/2012 06:23

Grin added you all can't wait to have a peep at your bambinos!

We've had a pretty good night DP came home at midnight - havnt really seen him yet as I was asleep but he'l be home till Sunday now. Grin

Noahs had an ok night tonight. I was stretching his feeds all day yesterday in the hope the nights would become easier & it's worked. He woke at 2.30 after 4hours for a feed which is an actual miracle, I felt so refreshed it's the first time iv slept four hours since he's been born Grin
Constipation hour started at 4.30am today and is actually still going! It didn't wake him up till 6, just me.
It was sad as he was clearly trying to sleep but was straining like a maniac, DP has slept through it I'm tempted to poke him in the eyes so he's awake too
At the moment Noahs laying on the changing mat on the floor - he usually poos when I'm changing him so I thought if he thinks I'm changing him he might poo lol it hasn't worked he's still straining! Hopefully he'l get it out soon so I can go back to sleep. Apart from that he's almost gone another 4 hours between feeds! It may be a one off but I'm thinking if I can figure out the constipation issue and he can go 4hours without feeding we'l start having some pretty normal nights Smile

How's everyone else been? Getting any sleep tonight?

Have requested to join the group. My initials are NM and profile pic is a B+W photo of DD.

Kat - hope the anti depressants do the trick. I've not had PND but I have been depressed in the past and I did find they helped me get over the worst of it - feelings were still there but easier to manage if you know what I mean. Make sure you are reviewed at least every 2 months.

Yummy - I would disregard the leaving to cry advice. Sometimes we have to briefly because we're dealing with something else but a baby who knows that it will be responded to quickly and with love will grow up more secure and confident.

DD won't settle unless swaddled or on me or in a sling or pram. At night we start off with her swaddled in a moses basket next to me then she wakes about 1, I change her nappy and she comes in with me, sleeps on my chest and feeds on and off and then we get up about half six. I was a bit concerned this morning as the nappy I'd put on at 1.30 was completely dry at 6.30. Hoping she does a wee soon or I'll worry there's some sort of blockage... I am a bit of a worrier naturally, wish I wasn't.

HollyPockett · 08/06/2012 07:50

I think I'm being really thick. I can't find the group. I'm blaming baby brain...

I'm going to baby massage with Francesca this morning. Can't actually believe I've said that! I used to get amazing massages when I was pregnant and these classes are run by the same woman. I'm really looking fwd to it

Bearcrumble · 08/06/2012 08:41

dreamc1 · 08/06/2012 09:04

Have asked to join, tis Hazel

Flisspaps · 08/06/2012 09:39

All requests confirmed. I'm running a list of who's who, will send it to everyone tonight to give others a chance to join so I'm not sending out hundreds of versions of the list Grin

Nice to put faces to names. What lovely children we've all made!

Yummymummyyobe1 · 08/06/2012 09:39

Well the little boy my DP and I picked up yesterday evening was not our son. Nana and Grandad informed us Harry did not cry once all day, and slept well.

It was nice that DP and I were able to have a non mummy and daddy day together. We took a little drive and had lunch a touch of lunch (although I missed Harry so much). He was picked up at 10:30 and we got back at 20:00 it will get easier I'm sure but he is my baby and only 1 month and 10days. I hope I get used to it as they are going to have Harry once a month.

xx

Flisspaps · 08/06/2012 11:20

Although when I click on it it's taking me to my news feed. DS is eating atm and the laptop is on the other side of the room. As soon as he de-boobs I'll grab it and sort a proper link!

Flisspaps · 08/06/2012 11:39

Try this

JambalayaCodfishPie · 08/06/2012 11:40

Hurrah- have requested! KS.

Thanks Fliss!

laughingGnomette · 08/06/2012 11:42

Hello! I haven't posted since the antinatal threads, I've had a bit of the baby blues but I'm starting to feel human again now, so if I could join in again that would be lovely :)
My DS wasn't even born in April (was due on the 28th April but arrived on May 4th) so I feel like a bit of a fraud!
I've got to take DS for a Tuberculosis jab this afternoon and I'm dreading it. It's across the other side of North London and I've never had the confidence to travel so far on public transport alone with him yet. Hopefully he'll sleep for most of it! I don't know what I'm afraid of really, I suppose I just need to get these experiences under my belt.
I hope you all had a reasonable night's sleep. Hayley - high five for the 4 hours!! :)

Flisspaps · 08/06/2012 12:04

Welcome back littlegnomette Smile

Hope the jab goes ok Sad

Flisspaps · 08/06/2012 12:08

Who is 'DH' - adding you to the group but need to know for the list!
