Morning

DH took over last night and this morning so I've had 12 hours sleep! [BlissedOutEmoticon] Well bar the small wake up I had when DH wanted to know if i'd previously boiled the kettle at 4 am!

My boys are out, and I'm not sure where, they were gone when I got downstairs!!! I don;t know what to do with myself! Have a shower without an audience, dye my hair, paint my nails, fake tan??????

GlaikitFizzog · 20/08/2011 11:43

Oooh!! My Bezzie mate in the whole wide world is taking me out in Glasgow tonight! She'd text me, but i hadn't checked my phone!

Best go start getting ready! :o lots of Wine for me!!

GlaikitFizzog · 20/08/2011 11:45

Shit I've got nothing to wear! Shock

Cyclebump · 20/08/2011 12:05

DP and I have that argument a lot Sassy, hope you're ok and can have a sofa day today.

Sounds good Fizz, we're off to the rugby to watch DP play today, am hoping H will be charming Hmm

chillikat · 20/08/2011 15:29

Ooh, DH has taken M out for a walk in an attempt to get her to have a nap - she's has 2 lots of about 20 minutes since 7am today. What do I do! I have time to myself, probably only about half an hour or so, but still :)

GlaikitFizzog · 20/08/2011 15:37

I'm dyed, defuzzed, tanned, nails painted. I just need to dry my hair and put my face on! I've raided my wardrobe and I have the choice of 1 little black dress out of a selection of about 10! I am back below my prebaby weight, but the wieght I am carrying has shifted to all round my arse!! Spanx are even having a tough job dealing with it!!

I had a small accident with the nail polish and the sofa. I think I've got it sorted, they are similar colours anyway so not a complete disaster!

Anyway better go, DH is having a mare trying to get B to sleep!

gingerbubs · 20/08/2011 19:43

Ooooh big sympathies for those with nighttime woes :(
We're still pretty average with a couple of wakings but last 2 nights she has gone down much more quickly/easily than usual so am hopeful I may start to recover some evenings. Especially as I've decided to do an exam at the end of September so really need to get studying!
Fizz - hope you have a fab night! I'm in Glasgow at my parents' tonight but very quiet night in front of TV planned.
Chilli - what did you decide to do with your half hour? They are so precious!
Cycle - did H behave at the rugby? Charm the pants off everyone?
Sassy - I sympathise with DH maybe not quite doing as much as he could. I do think my DH is wonderful in many ways, but a couple of months ago now I said maybe it would be really nice if just one morning he's off he get's up with M so I can have a lie in and it's still not materialised...

chillikat · 20/08/2011 20:10

Ginger, I vacuumed the house, even the stairs. Sad, but it needed doing and had done for ages. It's something I can cross of the to do list for now. Another option was to clean the bathroom, but that didn't happen. I've folded and packed up all the newborn and 0-3month baby clothes today ready to go in the loft sometime this week. DH is having his first full week off since paternity leave :o so I might get a few things done.

Fizz hope you have a great night.

Good luck to everyone for a good night.

GsyGacheFiend · 20/08/2011 21:55

just catching up excuse the no capitals, typing one-handed.

congrats on the potty training ali, i'm not going to venture into night time training until ds manages to keep the picture on his bedtime pants a couple of days in a row. my mum suggested lifting, but I don't think i'll bother with that, sounds like to much hassle.

ginger next time your dh has the morning off just stay in bed and tell him he has to get up with the baby, no maybe about it, you need the occasional morning off too.

GlaikitFizzog · 21/08/2011 00:46

Hello! I'm home! Had alovely time! A few Wines and now pumping beofre bed! I really should have pumped befoegoing out as I was aware of my norks getting bigger and bigger and the dress i was wearing was already on the revealing side! BiscuitBiscuit

I didn't realise you were in Scotland ginger. Are youfrom Glasgow?

Swimming lesson part deux tomorrow!

kittycatcat · 21/08/2011 04:50

S fed at 815 then fell asleep, well dozed. I put him to bed at 920 then cuddled up to Dh and fell asleep. We went to bed about half ten. S stirred at 11.15 but went back to sleep. I woke with a tummy ache at 1 and s was stirring (farting) but didn't end up feeding / waking til 150. He fell asleep again but stirred when I put him down but then slept til 435 so I'm feeding him now, but what a difference to the last few nights!! Hope the rest of you are getting better nights too x

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/08/2011 05:59

F's just woken up crying, last up at 4:30 (&2:30 & 2:00) and puked on me. Hope it's just a random puke, we're off to see family again tonight.

Not the best night ever. People have it worse tho.

JKSLtd · 21/08/2011 07:35

Morning all, early start with DS2 here, yawn. But i needed to get up and express anyway.
CAn't remember if I said but i'm donating milk to a milkbank in London, have reached 995mls in the freezer. Aiming for a minimum of 2000ml as they told me that's their 'break even' point to cover costs of tests, paperwork, etc. Then anything after that is a bonus. Have to stop at 6months though, so that's Oct 20th. Haven't actually given DH any to take up to hand in yet, waiting til i've got a bit more.

Hope everyone had ok nights, DD seems to have cracked it, 4 good nights in a row :)

MrsWajs · 21/08/2011 08:12

Could i have some tea and sympathy please??
Was due to fly to my parents in france this morning and missed our check in by 2 bloody minutes cus we'd left R's changing bag in the car and had to go back for it :(
We've been up since 3 and have had to book a different flight at 3pm this arvo!! So a long day at the airport ahead. On top of that i only broumght 3 bottles of milk, its times like this breast feeding would be so much better!!!!

JKSLtd · 21/08/2011 08:15

Nightmare MrsW!! Brew

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/08/2011 08:24

Rubbish, MrsW. Just 2 minutes?! You'd think they could've rushed you through, I bet the plane was still there.

Cyclebump · 21/08/2011 08:33

Nightmare MrsW.

Better night here after H was indeed charming at the rugby. However, I'm ashamed to admit that the one wake up at 4.30am when DP accused me of whining because H refused to go back in his cot and then left the bedroom to go on the sofa I simply walked into the living room, gave him the baby and walked out again and went to bed. I'd just had it.

He's now cross with me and H has tummy ache so it's a great atmosphere Hmm

DairyBeetle · 21/08/2011 08:52

MrsW That's so crap!

Cycle I think I'd of done the same as you!

I hope all those of you who've been having bad nights get some good ones too. Our nights are still good but S seems to have decided that 6am is play time (I blame DH for getting up for work so early!) this isn't bad by any means compared with many of you but I'm so not a morning person!

We went to Ikea yesterday for the highchair...S had a full on teething induced meltdown. Ended up going to the ASDA next door and getting some baby Nurofen because powders and gels just weren't helping. Poor thing, I really hope a tooth cuts soon because he's been putting up with this for weeks. Sad

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/08/2011 09:23

Cycle, I have done the same before.

I seem to have accidentally trained DH into getting F up & changed first thing, then delivering him to me in bed for his breakfast, shortly followed by a cup of tea for me! Brilliant! I better make the most of it since I'll be waking F up for an early breakfast from Sept.

Starshaped · 21/08/2011 10:05

Poor you Cycle - I would so have done the same. It's only fair that your DP does his share of night time resettling, so am completely on your side with this. Luckily DH is pretty good at doing his share, otherwise I think I would have cracked up over the last few days.

How frustrating Mrs W - I know they have to close check in at a certain point but you would have thought that they'd make allowances for a passenger with a tiny baby. Hope the wait in the airport isn't too stressful. Enjoy France too!

Respect to you for expressing for the milkbank JKS. Where on earth do you find the time to do it?!? I never seem to find the time to express for P, let alone to store some for a milkbank. Well done you!

We had a better night here. Still four wake ups (but over a 12 hour period), with only one of them being a prolonged one hour jobby. The others were all straight forward feeds and then back down to sleep. P even stayed in bed until 8am (a Sunday morning lie in - hoorah!), much better than the 5am wake up call we had yesterday.

MrsWajs · 21/08/2011 10:30

I've gone from upset to very bloody annoyed now!! How ridiculous not to let us through especially with a small baby. But all my tears and ranting made no difference!! Really want to make a complaint but i know they'll just say rules are rules and that it wasn't their fault i left the changing bag in the car!! Only 5 hours til next flight!! R seems pretty unfazed by the whole thing, thank god!!

Sounds like some of the rest of you have had equally crappy nights!!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 21/08/2011 10:31

cycle in this house weekend night resettling is DH's job.
Don't apologise to him, he should be apologising to you for being rubbish at taking responsibility for H. He is his baby too and he doesn't just get to do the good bits. I would be incandescent in your position, am so Angry for you.

We are at my parents, T went 9.30-9.30 with one quick feed. Nothing to do with the wine I drank yesterday i'm sure!! Grin

Parents are dealing with the boys now and DH and I have retreated to bed with a cuppa Smile

Starshaped · 21/08/2011 11:14

I'm a bit Envy at the sound of your weekend Ali. A 12 hour stretch of sleep, lots of wine and back to bed with a cuppa...perfect! All those things sound like distant memories to me at the moment!

Sassy20 · 21/08/2011 11:38

Oh Cycle I feel for you. Sounds like we both need Buck's dh to come and give our dhs lessons!

Another rubbish night here again, this time from 2!

MrsW that is a nightmare. Surely there could have been some flexibility? I'm flying with L on Thursday so will double and triple check we've got everything before head to airport. On positive side airport is only a 10 mins drive. Smile

chillikat · 21/08/2011 12:04

M has finally managed to work out her arms and roll over properly this morning :)
