Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

anyone else still getting a "under maintenance" message when they click on threads I'm on?

okiecokie · 14/07/2011 11:03

yes meds

Cosmosis · 14/07/2011 11:26

yup, there is a thread about it on site stuff.

Medee · 14/07/2011 11:57

OK, ta, glad it is not just me.

CurlyCasper · 14/07/2011 15:11

It's fixed!

rocketleaf · 14/07/2011 15:42

I know cosmo felt pretty good in a weird way. Right boob is still a bit sore but left boob feels almost pleasant! Is it strange that I don't like TB kissing me when I am feeding. It sort of feels wrong, I not sure if I am a freak to think that :-s

Glad things were a bit better silva sounds like your boy has a sophisticated palette :o

Normal service was resumed last night with Sprout wide awake at 3 am but I think that's because I put her down for a nap too late in the afternoon. I have a feeding and sleeping log app on my phone so I am going to try and replicate the naps she had on the Great Sleep night and see what happens. Still pretty sure it was a freak occurrence but it's worth a try. Not looking forward to these sleep regressions you speak of.

Washing machine has developed brand new fault and part will take a week. I think I sm going to have to switch to disposables for the time being. I am also seriously considering buying a new machine if it doesn't get fixed this time. Angry and then bad mouthing Currys and Beko all over the interwebz.

CurlyCasper · 14/07/2011 15:47

Glad feeding is improving rocket. I had to buy a new washing machine within weeks of Squeaks being born and I wasn't even using washables.

Squeaks is on anti-bs again. Last chance saloon before we look into it being something more than just one infection after another. And I was back in the surgery today for my first counselling appointment. I was shaking like a leaf when I got there. But issues have been aired and options offered.

rocketleaf · 14/07/2011 16:20

Poor Squeaks! Hope they do the trick though and it's not anything more serious. And well done for powering through the shakes curls you are very brave IMO, the thought of counselling shits me up a bit as I am pretty repressed

Sprout has her follow up at the hospital with the cardio peeps tomorrow. Hopefully its just a formality to give her the all clear but still a bit nerve wracking as I am not sure what's involved.

Cosmosis · 14/07/2011 16:32

i am the same re kissing and feeding, it's not just you.

well done for the counselling curls

SilverSky · 14/07/2011 16:52

Same here thanks! Do not kiss or touch me. Do so at your peril! Grin

Well last nights tea has resulted in three stinker nappies! Tonight is cream cheese sandwiches or toast. Not decided which then banana for afters.

Happy bifday muse!!!!

Backinthebox · 14/07/2011 18:39

A little old lady peered into the buggy and looked at LG today, and said 'Oh, what a beautiful baby - what's she called?' LG was wearing turquoise and brown surfer shorts and a turquoise tshirt at the time. When I said 'he's called LG' the woman went 'ooh, a boy. I'd never have guessed!' He's the most boyish looking boy baby out there! It happened at the hospital - maybe she was there to have her head examined?

Anyway - hospitals. What pile-of-shite places they are, eh? 2 sodding hours sitting with a screaming baby in a baking hot corridor to be told by a doctor who clearly had not even looked at my notes that 'everything is fine, come back in 4 weeks.' I sat there with my chin on the floor, amazed that I had wasted my morning for that. I don't know if I was expecting some great revelation, but no - just platitudes from a clueless bloke. So there we go. I am now sporting a grass green cast. TT and I are going to decorate it with daisies.

SilverSky · 14/07/2011 18:47

No way does LG look like a girl!! Silly old biddy'

Plz to post pics on you know where of cast!

SilverSky · 14/07/2011 19:09

Oooh controversial Fred in AIBU about airplanes and reclining seats!

Backinthebox · 14/07/2011 19:28

I spied the reclining seats thread. I have refrained from adding anything, because I have nothing nice to say to most of them. P'raps if people didn't expect to fly round Europe for 50p, the airlines wouldn't try to jam them on so tight. Honestly, passengers do not want me coming out of my box and spreading my thoughts on how they should behave around. Grin And I'd likely be sacked. I once had to get help in separating to Premier passengers who were about to start smacking each other because one had dared to recline his seat and the other was directly behind him. They were arguing about who was worth more to the company - apparently that would decide who was right. Neither was right, as far as I was concerned. We marched them both off the aircraft. Grin

Muser · 14/07/2011 19:49

I saw something about a coat with massive pockets to get round the luggage rules on budget airlines today, and it made me think of Boxy. Grin

Backinthebox · 14/07/2011 20:02

No Muser don't get me going on carry-on! I can't stop myself once I get going....

OP posts:
Backinthebox · 14/07/2011 20:08

Why DO people need to carry all that shit with them? I go to work for 5 days, and can nightstop in glorious steamy Rome, dank and drippy Helsinki, baking hot Nice, and pretty snowy Stockholm. I need to carry enough to make myself look smart for work, and to be able to go out for food in each destination. I have to have this as carry-on, and I can get it all in the smallest wheelie ever. It normally weighs less than 8 kg. What are people taking with them that they need to have a coat with extra pockets?

Aaargh - look what you've done now!

BTW the doctor who had no idea about the number of times my leg has been re-plastered today whittered on about me not getting back to work till mid-Oct. Yes, well we'll see about that. I might find a miracle has been performed on my leg if it means going back to work anytime after mid-Sept would mean I would have to work over Christmas Day. Hmm

Medee · 14/07/2011 22:26

well done on the counselling, CC

rocketleaf · 14/07/2011 22:52

Happy belated birthday muse

I must admit I worked for a 'travel' clothing company and we thought we were being oh so clever suggesting we design a 'luggage jacket' to get round hand carry restrictions. Blush if I ever go back there I will educate them on behalf of box (and the safety of all future customers) Xmas day flights should be banned imo.

We have been for a lovely meal while mum baby sat. It felt quite weird going out sans baybee. Also we shared a bottle of prosecco and then got complementary after dinner drinks so I feel a bit pissed. Good job I expressed a bottle.

Ha, mum has also just informed me its passed my bed time :o

CurlyCasper · 15/07/2011 07:53

Good luck for today rocket and sprout. Hope you get the outcome you want.

Squeaks is much better in herself, just coughing a lot in the night and barfing when she coughs too hard. She has also been teething - we now have both bottom front teeth and three molars. Not a top front tooth in sight though.

Cheers for the counselling support.

AlpinePony · 15/07/2011 08:16

Massive well done to curly for talking to The Rapist. It's not easy to get started but can change your life. x I wouldn't be where I am today without 200+ hours of moaning at a stranger! Wink I do hope that Squeaker is OK and she's just putting it on to mess with your head!

AlpinePony · 15/07/2011 08:58

FAO Cliched CRESHes Wink : The Joules sale now appears to have reached the Mary King + Badminton range. Envy

Cosmosis · 15/07/2011 09:03

Artie slept through again last night. That's a whole 4 times he's done it now!

CurlyCasper · 15/07/2011 09:09

Hurray for Artie!

alps I looked at the newest sale lines yesterday - still not paying that much for a t-shirt! It seems only the girly-la-la items are actually on sale.

AlpinePony · 15/07/2011 09:14

Their "girly" stuff is absolutely fminging! Shock I like their shirts though... but they come down further to more like 15 quid if you can hold your nerve. The Boden maternity stuff is going "cheep" right now but I'm not supposed to be spending any money. CC is maxed until next week. Tssssssk!

Cossie Aaaaah, so that's why you're glowing today! Wink
