Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Ginfox · 22/07/2011 11:32

Hi there. Just popping in for a look round . Will be back with birth story/lots of questions/crap ham sandwiches as soon as I can stop staring at my gorgeous girl.

Cosmosis · 22/07/2011 12:30

she is a wise friend laurie As I said to our rots the other day, one thing I have learned through this parenting lark is that stressing only results in you being stressed, and doesn't actually change your baybees behaviour. Roll with it is best fo sho.

kimdeal · 22/07/2011 13:21

Ginfox we've not met - but well done!!

Curly - xxxxx&x and a few hayfever sniffs xxxxxx . Triggered by the birth or from before? No to worry if you no wanna answer. waah, let me do a bum wiggle for you, yeh, and a kick of my beeautiful legs.

CurlyCasper · 22/07/2011 14:14

Def before kimbo. She has me wailing about stuff that happened when i was 11 yesterday. How do they do that? I'm happy to chat about what's happening - just not the detail IYSWIM.

ginfox I am well happy about another ESH girl, PLease come in an soothe your nethers.

AlpinePony · 22/07/2011 15:54

curly I nailed it! Grin Offered job on the spot and only need to go in 2 days a week! Will be offering my consulting services to Deloitte, KPMG et al. BIG move! :) Very happy and about fucking time.

CurlyCasper · 22/07/2011 16:10

Bloody hell - well done you! That sounds amazing! I guess all that sage advice from muser et al paid off! Does they know you is diffed? Grin Grin Grin

rocketleaf · 22/07/2011 16:13

Oh well done alps!! That sounds perfect.

welcome bombayfox Good skills on posting 3 days after birth, looking forward to hearing the gory details and well done on getting a waterbirth Envy Mmm, butties.

curly glad you are sticking with the counselling, I suppose wailing is the point (better out than in) but can understand why is puts some people off. I am sure it will pay off though. I dont know anyone who has done it that said they didn't benefit.

Am i being terribly PFB to not want my MIL to dangle my 8 week old baby infront of a dog that just wants her to play with it? Oh dear, I am aren't I :( Wink

AlpinePony · 22/07/2011 16:36

Moi? Diffed? curly I'm not showing and I didn't puke on anyone so aroused no suspicion. Anyway, as we decided, companies this rich can afford it.

Muser · 22/07/2011 16:42

Fab news Alps, well done you!

Medee · 22/07/2011 17:07

excellent, Alps, well done!

It doesn't sound too PFB to me, Rocket.

Cosmosis · 22/07/2011 17:24

yay Alps!! Amazin news! Grin

um, no, not pfb rocco

Muser · 22/07/2011 17:30

Definitely not PFB rocket. My dad's dog did give mine a good snuffle when we went to visit, but I was holding her and in control. If anyone dangled my baby in front of a dog they'd get short shrift.

rocketleaf · 22/07/2011 17:36

Dangling might be over stating it a bit. She was cradling her in one arm and went down on one knee to dog level. The dog is lovely and very well trained but just a bit playful and idolises MIL. I could see him sending her sprawling. But anyway, we both survived so thats the main thing.

alps i am liking your work. when do you start? and when do you start showing?

kimdeal · 22/07/2011 18:15

rocket - this is so not PFB on the grand scale of things. I wouldn't let anything non-organic past prince junior's lips prior to about a week ago. Pffahgott I am.

As fo Alps well done grl. And why not indeed. These big bizziz factor it in.

Curly - ishoos from before, yes, but exacerbated/brought up by small child? That's to say, were you in c'sling before babe's arrival? Sympathy to you. Pliz to remind me what you're doing at the mo - are you back at work? Remember you said littleun is sometimes at nursery.

CurlyCasper · 22/07/2011 18:50

kim yesterday was only my second time at the counsellor, first the week before. It all came out in a PND way in about November/December, at which point I was refusing to leave the house. Been on the ADs since December and they are amazing. When I first saw the doc I thought PND, but it's more anxiety based and GP quickly spotted that it had been going on longer that just since the birth. Yes, I've been back at work since April. Squeaks has two days at nursery, her dad's shiftwork and me cutting down to four days a week covers the rest.

Tell us more about what's happening at your end. How has the last year been for you? (And please can we have up to date pics on your FB?)

rocket not PFB at all. If anyone is going to shove my child in a dog's face it will be me!

kimdeal · 22/07/2011 19:01

Curly I like to remain a beautiful enigma on fb - complete with outfit to die for. Yes, I need to do something there. I also need to try and remember my password - I only ever had that page for u guys and then I realised my name was too recognisable hence the odd (lovely) pic and weird name and then I cldn't get the password combination right. U wldn't think I have a PhD dozy cow. I will try to get on there now, wldn't mind a chat, you poor love. Oh what the fuck - ok, punch to the ribs too.

SilverSky · 22/07/2011 19:27

Awesome al! Sounds like you be veh importante and you shall need to recruit slaves an energetic team to assist you? Where to send my CV plz? Grin

RockSteadyEddie wot curl said about dawgs.

Seems I have consumed a large bag of honey roast ham crisps for my tea.

kimdeal · 22/07/2011 19:34

Silver I am spozed to be working. Instead, I too is eating crisps. And on here. Oh god. And I have a deadline... whoops back.

SilverSky · 22/07/2011 20:38

That on means that our crisps cancel each other out surely?

okiecokie · 22/07/2011 20:50

Fab news alps. That is wonderful. I would say have a glass of something to celebrate but in your condition probably best not to. Oh fuck it, go on you deserve it...!

ginfox come in come in, make your self comfy. Plz to tell ALL the gory details!

Saw Vag today (saw moo yesterday as she is looking lush). Turns out Vag is well good mates with one of my well good mates. Like, she is school friend with one of my longest uni mates. We were even at the same wedding. This uni mate of mine used to talk about "my friend Vag* a lot. Weird or what? Anyway, Vag experienced the mini Oke who was in a playful mood. He is only good as gold on the days when we don't see folk.

Backinthebox · 22/07/2011 20:55

Well done Alps - world domination will be yours before long. Grin

Called the lady about the pone - Boxer & I are off to see it tomorrow. LC is already referring to it as her pony. Dunno who is more excited....me or LC Confused Grin

PollyPoo · 22/07/2011 21:41

Well the party was a success. All children happy, no fighting or tears, way too much food. Oh yeah.... I am with droid, not with child.

Well done on the job pone, bloody brilliant news. More dosh?

Welcome FoxyOne and welcome to the lil foxcub too! I am very Envy of your waterbirth (and Cluck's too). That was my plan but stoopid blood pressure cocked all that up. Ah well, it all turned out well in the end.

Right, time for more wine. Catch you later biatches.

Backinthebox · 22/07/2011 21:50

New ponies are always exciting, Cluck. I'm excited too!

Anyway. I'd like to carry out an experiment. Could everyone think 'LG - sleeeeeeep, boy,' all at the same time and we'll see if the power of the mind can make things come true. Either that, or he'll be out in the stables again. And it seems from LittleChick's outpourings today that the stable may soon be occupied by an actual horse. LG, though, seems to think that 3 am is a perfectly acceptable time to want a cuddle. Which would be very sweet except he snuggles up to me and goes aah, and 2 minutes later thrashes about for a bit before snuggling up to OH and going aaah, and then tosses and turns a bit and cuddles back up to me..... and keeps this up for about 2 hours. Then he sleeps for about an hour and then wakes up at about 6am going 'wowee! A brand new morning. I must crawl rapidly around the bed, pausing only to do baby press ups and occasionally to bite mummy or daddy on the face to show them how much I love them.' At around 6.30am TT bursts in through the bedroom door as though with a battering ram and LG laughs out loud and proceeds to try and bash TT around the face in an act of affection, and OH and I realise that once more we have only had about 5 hrs sleep in all. I am so ready for the extension to be finished. Only a couple more weeks to go!
