Here we are, our new thread and this time we all have our babies !

I thought we were getting thrush again, but then realised I had let ds's latch get sloppy. He was constantly clicking and tutting at the breast but I was too distracted to notice.

Ds and I made butterfly cakes together this morning, ds got to choose the colour of the buttercream icing ..... It is a very lurid shade of pink and they are covered in sugar strands. You can never have enough sugar!

Lis - glad it's over, now enjoy the Wine

No DTD here either, not in the mood and not confident enough post-stitches either.
Also explained to DH last night that I feel 'touched out' after a day with 3 DC (think someone on here said it first) and he really seemed to 'get it' and admitted he's never thought of it in that way. Still things to learn at 3 DC lol.

Sore nips today, not sure why, hopefully not thrush raising its ugly head again.
FIngers tightly crossed for a good night's sleep, for us all :)

LisMcA · 16/06/2011 21:25

No wine. But baileys yum yum yum..........Grin

DairyBeetle · 16/06/2011 21:47

I was put on Cerazette at 6wk check and all this info has me thinking that it may be what has had me in such an odd frame of mind the last couple of weeks. I have a GP appt tomorrow so I'm going to ask for some advice, want to avoid condoms if possible because they don't agree with me.

Not that we've DTD here. I think it's a combination feeling 'touched out' (a brilliant description whoever mentioned it earlier!), deeply unsexy (I may be able to see the lady garden but not had time and energy to trim!) and if I'm honest a bit scared! Not just because of the stitches which seem to have healed fine, though the piles are still giving me grief, but also at the idea of getting pregnant again. I'm going to need a lot longer for the memories to dull before another is on the cards, whatever DH's plans!!

Lis I'm glad things went as well as they could, hope you're enjoying the baileys, wish I had some, just ovaltine here Brew

Anyone else watching OBEM USA?

Petalouda · 16/06/2011 21:56

I can't believe people are talking about the next one already.

I'm getting a coil.

F fed 5 times before he settled tonight. Proper feeds too, twice on one boob, 3 times on t'other. Where is he putting it?! (hopefully not all over the sheet)

Petalouda · 16/06/2011 21:58

Sky+ing OBEM beetle, analysis tomorrow?

Sassy20 · 16/06/2011 23:17

Beetle I watched obem USA. Was it just me or did anyone else shout at the last woman to listen to the midwives!

I'm on minipill too but can't remember which one but begins with m. We dtd earlier this week and have to say it was pretty uncomfortable so i'm hoping it'll be easier next time!

How funny dd is just sat on my knee and grunted and has obviously filled her nappy. Time for me to go and change it, sounds like a bad one! Blush

mumtomoley · 16/06/2011 23:59

Well I'm glad today is nearly over (except for the next 3 hours it'll probably take to get G to sleep!) Had a very cry-y day today [exhausted] G has been really out of sorts. He's quite clingy anyway, but every time I put him down today he'd been howling within a couple of minutes even if he seemed sound asleep when I put him down.. so pretty wearing really. Been crying a lot this evening as well and can't work out what it is poor little thing but he's definitely not right :(

fraktious · 17/06/2011 00:25

Well I was put on the spot by the doctor who basically asked if we wanted another within 3 years and if so she wasn't going to put a coil in. Now it's more probable than not we will start trying within 3 years if we have another. At the moment it's looking unlikely from my POV! But until we make that decision it's probably better to avoid longer term methods.

Petalouda · 17/06/2011 08:32

Good Morning!

It's soggy and horrible outside, so we'll probably end up with screaming ab-dabs by the end of the day, but...

We had 20:30-2:30 and then 3:30-7:15! And I woke up with a rack akin to Jodie Marsh, but hey.

Just put him down for nap 1, and he's awake already. We need to crack these naps. Grr.

JenAT · 17/06/2011 08:34

Thank god its Friday! DH comes home this evening from a week away working. I am knackered.
G had me up yet again in the night at 2:45. 3:45 and 5 am and then I couldn't get back to sleep. He has a really snuffly nose so I think that is waking him. I've just had to phone my FIL to come and pick up dd to take her to nursery as I am definitely not safe to drive, and just couldn't risk putting dd and G in the car.

I have to go to the hospital this afternoon to have a meeting with my uncle and his consultant to hear what his diagnosis is and what the plans are, but I know myself that any treatment will be palliative only, I don't think my uncle realises this though as he was asking me to arrange getting his car serviced and buy his lottery tickets yesterday, despite the fact he can hardly breathe and cannot even reach for a drink as he is so weak.

Better news we are going on hol tomorrow, so my other uncle will have to take on the responsibility of visiting hospital for the next week. I cannot wait to get away. I plan to sleep, eat, and do nothing much at all!!!

We have not DTD yet, I have a prescription for cerazette but last time I took it I bled continually for 5 weeks when I started so not sure whether to take it, or just get some condoms for when I feel like DTD, although at this rate it will be probably another 6 months!

Well I am off back to bed, to see if I can get a little more sleep, whats the betting G will wake up as soon as my head hits the pillow, he has been asleep since 5am, but I couldn't sleep and then had to get up with dd at 6:15 anyway.

MrsWajs · 17/06/2011 08:37

Morning, hope everyone has managed to sleep reasonably well?? R was back to her usual last night of up at 3 and then 6 so don't think we're quite at sleeping all night stage yet!

Interesting to read about this Cerazette, I had never heard of it before now. Won't have to go on it myself as not breastfeeding but it sounds a bit dubious! Think I will just ask to go back on combined pill as didn't have any problems with it before - well except when I came off it! Hormone central!

Well HV came yesterday and R now weighs 10lb 6 and is 57cms long so v. happy with that. She also did my PND score and apparently I'm borderline! Kind of guessed I would be anyway. We discussed issues I felt were bothering me, breastfeeding guilt, immediate postnatal care etc and she agreed that these were probably contributing factors to my mood. So she has arranged for me to meet with the midwifery sister from the unit I delivered at to discuss the things I was unhappy about with my care in the hope that I can get some closure from it all. As for the breastfeeding I just need to accept that the decisions I made were the best decisions for me and R at the time and not keep beating myself up over it! Easier said than done I think but am feeling a lot more positive about things and glad I spoke to her about it all.

Well my mum is taking R tonight and DP and I are going on a "date"!! Just out for tea and to cinema so that'll be nice and we'll get another full nights sleep and a long lie - SPOILT!! :)

stuffedmk · 17/06/2011 09:18

OK I'm sure I'm just being really paranoid and will laugh about this next week but..... The last couple of days I have been feeling distinctly preggers Shock Confused I'm sure it's all coincidence as we have been careful but For once I'll be glad to see a period. My hips suddenly started niggling, have had on and off lower abdominal niggles, have felt a bit queasy a couple of times and have come over extra tired and had tingley nips Hmm Am due on next Tues (ish) and I'm hoping sure AF will turn up but I think this weekend is going to be a long one. Haven't mentioned any of it to DH as I'm probably just going mad Grin

Have to go and buy birthday pressies for DS1 today, he has refused to ask for anything so don't really have any ideas, I can see hours of aimless wandering ahead Hmm

stuffedmk · 17/06/2011 09:23

Oh and I started watching OBEM USA but DH came in and made me turn it over Angry wonder if it's anywhere on catch up.

stuffedmk · 17/06/2011 09:27

Hooray found it Grin

Cyclebump · 17/06/2011 09:56

You're not the only one Stuffed Blush

I've felt weird and off for a couple of weeks. I'm really hoping it's my return to Cerazette but I'll admit that when DP and I got carried away and DTD at four weeks we, ummm, forgot about my lack of pill.

I feel like a naughty teenager!

Fortunately though, we've not had any problems with DTD. Tiny bit uncomfy at first but I think it's just because we were a bit nervous TBH.

Anyhoo, H slept properly again last night 9.45-3.30 and 4ish-7. I also napped on the sofa yesterday while he napped. Bliss.

MrsWajs · 17/06/2011 10:35

Woops DP and I have also been DTDing .....ahem ...bareback! Have had definite period now so really better start being careful!! Can highly recommend having a wee Wine beforehand as it took the nerves out of it for me and was surprisingly ok! Unfortunately DP now has his libido back with a vengeance!! Pity mine hasn't followed suit!

On a brighter note, he just phoned and we are not going to cinema now, we are going to see Jimmy Carr instead :)

LisMcA · 17/06/2011 11:31

mrswajs Is jimmy Carr in Aberdeen or Dundee tonight? We are still in Aberdeen. My dad hashish taken B out in the pram so it's just me and dh for the first timein ages. Getting a bit excited about our "date" tonight! How sad is that. I think we are goingto see the hangover 2. I fancy a laugh. Tbh there's hardly anything else on just now.

B is only piping every 2-3 days. I thought that was ok for a bf baby but my mum keeps saying it's not normal and I should take him to the docs. Can someone confirm I'm right please?! he's not showing any signs of being unwell. He does however have a huge sleep post poo Grin

LisMcA · 17/06/2011 11:32

Bloody iPod. Pooping not piping.

mumtomoley · 17/06/2011 11:42

Lis that's normal fo a bfed baby! Some go several times a day, some go every few days so I can confirm you are correct and your mother is wrong!

G had his inhections this morning - I was a proud mummy as he was very brave! Squealed about the first leg, went bright red and stuck his bottom lip out, didnt make much fuss about the second and calmed down straight away when he was cuddled :) currently fast asleep in his pushchair! Hope the rest of the day goes as well!

mumtomoley · 17/06/2011 11:42

and 'dad hashish'? Grin Lis

Petalouda · 17/06/2011 11:48

Lis there's a baby at bf group who apparently had her first poo in 2 weeks on Tuesday. Doc wasn't worried, apparently.

F is still refusing to nap today. Longest we've manages is 20 mins so far. But I'm persisting.

Is it bad that it's actually easier without DH here? I just spent that 20 mins clearing up the carnage he left in the garden & kitchen from yesterday. Our new tools left abandoned in the rain all night. Do I have 2 children?!

LisMcA · 17/06/2011 12:17

Hashish????? Bloody he'll!!!!!! GrinBlush

LisMcA · 17/06/2011 12:17

Hell Angry

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/06/2011 12:54

Lol @ hashish!

I had a five hour stretch of sleep last night - hurrah.

We did the deed this week actually. All was fine but I was nervous and just wanted to get it out of the way, so not the best shag ever! Dh and I have had discussions about him having the snip, so condoms until he takes the plunge.

OP posts:
mumtomoley · 17/06/2011 13:40

Can't see me and DP ever dtd again! G miraculously had a sleep in his pram last week and DP and I took the opportunity for a fumble but it wasn't very relaxed to be honest! Monitor wasn't on so didn't want to go upstairs and leave G downstairs unattended so was worried about him waking up and being traumatised by Daddy's hairy arse Grin Plus it was broad daylight so was fretting about unkempt and gross post baby body, plus debating whether to nip upstairs and locate condoms which haven't been seen for getting on for 2 years!.. and it's ben soooo long that a quicky doesn't really do it for me iykwim. Sorry if tmi!! I really miss it though!
