Okay, am starting a new thread for busy Junies to keep up with the main exploits of the gasbag Junie gang. Here's my summary report for week ending 1st October:

GOOD

  • have had consultation with Welshie's sleep lady, ds sleeping well at night SO FAR
  • have put ds on to Omneo Comfort at tea's suggestion, ds is now eating us out of house and home

BAD

  • sink has been leaking into downstairs neighbour's flat, potential insurance nightmare
  • ds still hugely grumpy about going down for his naps in the day, poor old other downstairs neighbours who can hear everything

BRIDGET JONES:

  • number of eps of Sex and the City watched when up with ds at 530 in the morning: about 20

THE GOOD
DS2 is finally over his cough and is sleeping loads better, only waking up once a night and napping properly.
He's desperately trying to start crawling and can move himself forward (millimetres at a time) through lots of wriggling and grunting.
Lovely day out with DH and the DSs today, went on a steam train and had a walk and a pub lunch.
Have got back to pre-baby weight. Now need to get back to pre-baby stomach, which could be tricky.

THE BAD
Dreading going back to work.
DH working lots of late nights so am feeling a bit overwhelmed by childcare.
My beloved cleaner has fallen and broken her leg, which is absolutely awful for her but (and I know this is selfish) obviously means more stuff for me to do. Will probably be posting for best cleaning tips!
Weaning is going very slowly.

THE UGLY
When will this hair loss end? My drains (and my hairline) are begging for mercy.

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 12/12/2005 11:56

THE GOOD
Christmas - tree's up, wreath's on the door, presents being wrapped etc
Ds is just wonderfully loving - lots of grabbing hair just to get my face close to his so he can 'kiss' me.
Ds sleeps 1900-0600ish - truly marvellous
Dd is really into Christmas - loved Santa's grotto at the weekend.
I'm enjoying work - especially wearing lipstick and clothes without baby sick on them.

THE BAD
Ds getting a cold which kept him up for 2 hours at a stretch at the weekend.

Can't think of anything else bad....that's good [ smile]

BJ moments
Still eating loads of Green and Black's but the bfing seems to be keeping the weight off - hurrah!

snowfallatxmasmum · 23/12/2005 09:11

the good

  • lots of lovely christmas food and drink
  • dd very lively chatty and trying to stand up
  • friends and family visited and were helpful

the bad

  • lots of lovely christmas food and drink
  • dd not sleeping well at all
  • have had some rotten moods probably due to tiredness

bj moments - where to start...?!

teabelly · 23/12/2005 09:33

THE GOOD

  • DD over her cold, sleeping better and eating again
  • Fab birthday meal out last weekend, Christmas this weekend, great for the foodaholic in me
  • DD and DS being very good in anticipation of Santa's arrival
  • DM has kids tonight so DH and I out for curry and then back for a nightcap
  • had job offer from a previous employer for great position back in City

THE BAD

  • Great position didn't pay enough to cover child care and ridiculously high train fares
  • DM has very bad cold and will probably pass straight back to DD for renewed sleepless nights
  • Fab birthday meal out last weekend, Christmas this weekend, not great for weightwatchers!

BJ moment...
Pregnancy affliction back, and managed to tuck my skirt into my tights and walk around town for 1/2 hour before ds informs me of colour of knickers, and realisation dawns as to how he would know ...thought it was abit colder!

Well a quick round-up, are we doing our 'June 2005 mummies' review of the year' or was that masterminded by Appendix Woman aka KVG?

Anyway, GOOD:

  • Christmas is over, thank god! (Sorry, I really can't seem to get into this, it's just hassle and faff)
  • ds has learnt to roll, hurrah for the little pip!
  • enjoying the job, and keeping up with the pace, so this is a virtually stress-free item in life, hurrah for that too.

BAD:

  • car crash in a pub car park, car has just been taken off to the Car Hospital and replaced with a purple, 3-door (and prob 1 litre) Nissan Micra
  • ds teething/not sleeping/no real interest in solids, hey ho
  • working from home is a living nightmare, this requires some rethinking I suspect.

If we don't do our review of the year, I wanted to wish all Junies a very happy 2006 from all the tribpot clan. What an amazing year this has been, bringing us the incredible gift of our little people. None of us will ever forget it, that's for sure! xxxx

2happy's 2005 round up!
THE GOOD
ds of course!! He truly is a bundle of joy and I have never been happier than with this fantastic family.
Dsis delivering her dd 14 weeks before me. Home-made support group!
Buying our first house
The joys of freeview in the wee small hours when up with ds...
Getting to enjoy the beautiful summer weather on long walks with ds
And discovering mumsnet, of course!

THE BAD
Our house still doesn't have central heating, but hoping to get it soon...
Discovering the previous owner had built an extension over a right of way...
Discovering the previous owner had drilled a hole in the front room as a method of dealing with the leaking roof...
Discovering the previous owner had built the bedroom wall around the water tank so couldn't access it when the water tank leaked, and now have mould in the front room... I could go on!

THE BJ's
Allowing myself to pig out when pregnant - after all eating for two!
Allowing myself to pig out when ds very young - after all need to comfort eat to make up for lack of sleep
Now somehow it's just a habit to pig out all the time. Oh dear.

how can i sum up the most amazing year of my life!

the good
having a healthy baby after a very long labour and the scare at SCBU

the absolute joy for dh and i of just having dd around - just how on earth did we do that?!

the fact that in spite of extreme lack sleep we managed to remain supportive of each other for nost of the time, give or take the odd grump

we managed to sort ourselves out and buy a place of our own at long last

the bad

oh the lack of sleep

the still huge size of me

the lack of time for dh and a good book

things i did not know this time last year

just how painful pain can be
how many things i can do one handed
how many opinionated people there out there (and how willing they are to share)
just how scary and so very wonderful it is to be a parent
