Okay, am starting a new thread for busy Junies to keep up with the main exploits of the gasbag Junie gang. Here's my summary report for week ending 1st October:

GOOD

  • have had consultation with Welshie's sleep lady, ds sleeping well at night SO FAR
  • have put ds on to Omneo Comfort at tea's suggestion, ds is now eating us out of house and home

BAD

  • sink has been leaking into downstairs neighbour's flat, potential insurance nightmare
  • ds still hugely grumpy about going down for his naps in the day, poor old other downstairs neighbours who can hear everything

BRIDGET JONES:

  • number of eps of Sex and the City watched when up with ds at 530 in the morning: about 20
OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
troublesmummy · 13/11/2005 19:35

Ooh right, first one, here goes:

Good:

Went out for nice meal with dp this week
Ds has been in a good mood all until yesterday

Bad:

Done NOTHING all weekend and really bored
Think ds is teething as has done nothing but cry for two days

Big Brother task: STOP EATING

welshmum · 13/11/2005 19:36

Good
Ds doing well on his solids.
Started the move from breast to bottle relatively easily.
Dd is just the most wonderful little girl in the world.
Had a great night out with the girls
Managed to do some singing

Bad
Started the move from breast to bottle relatively easily
Both children have persistent coughs - keeping us all awake at night way too much
Ds is still finding it hard to pooh bless him

Chocolate consumption as high as ever but alright as too tired to eat proper meals

lua · 14/11/2005 19:46

The news:

Had lovely time visiting Dh's family and old friends.
DD was brave enough to go treat or treating and got enormous amount of chocolate
(she only ate 1......you do the math and figure how much I ate)
DS had his first visit at the nursery . He loved it though!!!
Still trying rice, but not a lot of success

P.S.: So have you succeded Troublesmummy??? If so give me some hints!

mandymac · 14/11/2005 19:53

Mac Update

katzguk · 14/11/2005 19:53

Bridget bit - Bags of mini-malteasers eaten - 8 well there are only little
Big Brother bit - Make more icecubes of food

Skyler · 14/11/2005 19:59

Good

  • DH is back
  • I feel fantastically capable for getting through three weeks on my own (didn't seem it at the time though)
  • DD2 has her third tooth
  • DD1 makes me laugh and says I love you Mummy a lot.
  • DD1's total overexcitment watching dh arrive on the plane (Screaming 'that's my Daddy, that's my Daddy' over and over lol)
  • DD2's cradle cap has gone
  • DD1 now goes to Creche for two hours THREE times a week!

Bad

  • Still 2-3 nightime wakings each night
  • Amount of money spent on 'treats' for me and dd1 while dh was away.
  • Amount of chocolate and biscuits consumed as treats while dh was away.
  • Weight gain while dh has been away (I think anyway....can't confirm due to us not actually owning a pair of weighing scales....but clothes are a little tighter again)

Big Brother task:
To keep on top of the extra washing, cooking and tidying created by the return of DH.

bubbaloo · 14/11/2005 21:14

Good:

Ds has eaten everything I've given him and really loves Avocado. He is also using his highchair now-so much easier!
Have been very sociable and been busy entertaining.
Have now bought every christmas present and wrapped them all up.
Dh has been off work all week which has been nice.
Dh bought me 2 pairs of boots.

Bad:

I think I have a shopping addiction-lol!
Ds is now in 6-9 months clothes,so I've had to buy him lots(probabaly should be in the "good" section).
Have now got my date for going back to work-6th March.

muma3 · 14/11/2005 21:41

cool thread it seems really weird to be reading about other peoples babies , feel really silly to be saying to myself "omg my dd3 does that too!!!!!"

muma3 · 14/11/2005 21:53

ok ill try to keep the flow of the room going

GOOD:

  • keeping ironing pile low (ish)
  • only had 1 low day this week
  • dd3 rolled over for the first time today found her flat on her front (good-bad ?)
  • realised how well the household routine really works and am appriciating the fact that they arent really monsters (bless them)

BAD:
-time of month and have been scoffing

  • thought i was pregnant this month and got excited -realised that dp hasnt been doing an awful lot round here just recent -coming up to the exs weekend and dd1 still doesnt want to see her dad

BIG BROTHER BIT - have another argument about household chores

teabelly · 15/11/2005 11:11

Hello hello, I'm finally back!

Quick catch up for the last month

GOOD

  • dd eating 3 meals a day
  • dd absolutely lovely
  • ds completely in love with dd, and being extremely helpful with the housework
  • dd's christening went well - didn't scream like something from the exorsist (sp?) as half anticipated
  • dd no longer having middle of night feeds last one at 10.30pm

BAD

  • ds completely in love with dd, and being extremely helpful with the housework not always the help you need!
  • little brother gone back to Aus won't see him now for at least 2 years
  • dd no longer having middle of night feeds so up several times to put dummy back in!
  • had official redundancy notice - so now have to go and find new job

Bridget Jones (was going to shorten this to BJ moment, but know how dirty you girls all are! )

  • bottles of wine consumed a week (av.) = 5 (shared with dh - honest!)
  • number of ds's animal choc bars consumed per day when he's at nursery = 1
  • weight lost last month = 5lb's
  • weight gained last week = 4 lb's !

Big Brother Task

  • not be the last mummy to pick child up from nursery so he's sitting all by himself with the teacher. ...housemates achieved 3 out of 5 must try harder to anticipate the traffic flow upon leaving shops to race around to nursery
JonahB · 17/11/2005 10:32

Good:

  • Went out TWICE last week at night into city centre and drank far too much. Felt almost young and youthful again!!
  • DS doing well on his solids. Not rejected anything yet.
  • Move from formula from b/milk going well. Nearly there?.
  • I think I may have lost a couple of pounds, but suspect that is more to do with less b/feeding thus less milk production than to do with eating less
  • Off to Brighton this afternoon with DS (not DH) to see DB, SIL and 2 nieces. I?m really excited. Wish me luck?.

Bad

  • Nearly finished b/feeding. Quite sad about it actually.
  • Having to spend a long drive in the car with my dad. He has already stressed me considerably by trying to cancel on me at the last minute then being ?persuaded? by DB that he should go. Not that either me, my DH or my DB thinks that DB has done me a favour there. Now I?m going to have to spend 6 hours in a car with a misery guts, who will complain for the majority of the way and tell me how dangerous/cold/unsuitable driving conditions etc etc. He?s threatening to drive at 50mph, which would actually make me incandescent with rage. I would have actually preferred to go on my own. I would be a lot less stressed about it. GRRRR!!!

Can i make my apologies for my outburst here. I do realise this is supposed to be the concise verson

troublesmummy · 18/11/2005 11:07

Right then, this week:

Good:

-Got an afternoon to myself. Child free.
-Dp brought me some flowers yesterday
-Ds's eczema seems to be improving

Bad:

-On said afternoon off i painted shed. BORING
-I have to drive my parents to Heathrow this afternoon (from Derbyshire and prob won't be home til about 9pm)
-I'm sure i've put about 10 stone on this week. Really can't stop eating
-Dp is very unhappy at work, and i seem to get the brunt of it

Big Brother Task - STOP EATING. This WILL be my task for the next 10 months as i am getting married in September and going to be very obese if i carry on

Phew, feel better now

LipstickMum · 20/11/2005 14:09

Good bits:

Have been sunning myself in Barbados for the last 2 weeks!
Didn't do any housework
Didn't cook any meals
Mum did my washing while we were there
Dp was around to help with kids
Cocktails were gorgeous
Drank loads of rum
Swam every day

Bad bits
Came back to England and the weather is icy!!!

Bridget bits:

Alcohol units consumed: A LOT
Fast food and roti's eaten in last 2 weeks: every day
Cigarettes: None
Lipsticks bought: 2 MAC ones at airport

welshmum · 25/11/2005 15:57

Good:
Not feeding ds at night anymore and getting loads more sleep
Being able to stop wearing nursing bras (HURRAY)
Dd being praised by nursery staff for her enthusiasm for learning
Had hair cut and coloured
Started christmas shopping
Looking forward to going back to work kind of
Feeling that everything is changing now....

Bad
Going back to work kind of
Missing ds loads as he's been settling in with our childminder
Down to 2 bfs a day
Feeling that everything is changing now....

BJ moments
Dh brought home Belgian chocolate waffle biscuits..way too nice

mrsflowerpot · 25/11/2005 16:29

Good:
House is finally completely sold - money in account today (our bank account will never look this good again).

DS much happier at school and being generally much nicer child recently.

DD just gorgeous, very happy baby. Finally had her jabs finished so can take her swimming etc.

Still breastfeeding - was getting seriously hacked off by this point with ds but it's all going well with dd.

Have met some really nice people and am starting to have social life again (courtesy of dd and baby groups) and also to see more of dh (courtesy of Sitters).
Ocado now deliver here (seriously, this is very exciting for me).

Bad:

Getting passport photos for dd - aaargh! First set knocked back (eyes 1mm too low (?wtf?) and background 'mottled'), could not get her to keep her mouth closed for the second set. Looking v unlikely that we will be able to go abroad ever, let alone at Christmas...

We may have blocked drains of rented house and house next door with kandoo wipes (ds a bit over-enthusiastic with the use of these). They are now banned.

DH work stress as ever, getting tedious now.

Bridget bit:

Trips to gym this week: 3 (vg)

Trips to cafe at gym: 3

Cakes eaten in cafe at gym: 3

Ocado deliveries since mid Nov: 3 (will regain self control soon).

Skyler · 26/11/2005 11:26

Good

  • DH is home and has finished nights and we actually had a whole day together yesterday which was LOVELY!
  • Finished Christmas shopping, wrapped and posted all presents that needed to be done back to the UK on time
  • DD1 being SO good and polite it is untrue. Feel a real sense of achievement from all our nagging and hard work.
  • Actually making time to read How to dress to change my life by Trinny and Susannah lol.
  • Buying brand new clothes for dd1 safe in the knowledge they will last her and can be used for dd2. (I never do this, all her clothes are presents or from the thrift shop or ebay.)
  • Lots of exciting newbies on the June thread to ensure I keep sane (not that I am bored with us oldies I hasten to add)
  • Spontaneous meal out on Thursday and the dd's behaved impeccably. I was not sure they were mine!
  • I am going to be an Auntie!! My big dsis is pregnant. So excited. Think this will help me decide whether I want a third too....it is definately no at the moment but I have had a crappy few weeks.

Bad

  • DD2 still up 3-5 times a night. I am VERY tired.
  • Too tired to post on the proper thread at the mo (but I am lurking and keeping up)
  • Paypal's refusal to accept my BFPO address and therefore update the expiry date on my credit card is curtailing my ebay spending. Grrrrr.
  • Need new nursing bras but don't want to spend more money on ugly underwear.
  • DD1's sore 'winter' lip will not get better and she is fed up with vaseline.
MrsWednesday · 27/11/2005 19:36

GOOD
DS2 is scrumptious and is starting me hugs and kisses. Actually more like gummy suction on my neck and chin but lovely none the less.
DS1 is being very good at the moment (long may it last).
Went out into town with friends on Friday and hit the dancefloor - felt 10 years younger (and twenty years older yesterday).
Meeting up with Trib, her DH and very well behaved DS.

BAD
Starting weaning yesterday and DS2 was not impressed with either pear or apple.
Going back to work is getting scarily close and I feel very nervous and upset about leaving DS2 at nursery.
Haven't started Christmas shopping yet.

Bridget:
Length of time bar of chocolate has been in my fridge without me eating it - four whole days.
Exercise this week: big fat zero.

2happy · 29/11/2005 12:54

Thanks troublesmummy!

tribpot · 11/12/2005 12:56

Just to resurrect our concise thread for busy people!

GOOD

  • BACK ON BROADBAND
  • Have survived 24 hours on my own with ds, not much of an achievement by most of your standards but a first for me! Not too tired either.
  • Positive appointment at the pain clinic this week for dh, ds impeccably behaved (and much admired) whilst we were there
  • Survived first week of work and working with a guy who also used to live in Amsterdam so can pass the time reminiscing about which Irish bars we used to go in
  • oh yes, nearly forgot - ds has slept through for the first time ever! (I don't count sleeping through til 530 as it's too early, 630 is much better)

BAD

  • growing realisation that I don't want to go back to work full-time, tricky one.
  • very expensive time with two houses to run and Xmas looming
  • nearly slipping over on a regular basis as Leeds City Council don't seem to like gritting pavements!
OP posts:
katzglitterytree · 11/12/2005 13:14

Good

  • DD2 will now drink from a cup providing it is a bright colour pink seems to be fav
  • DD2 now crawling either as a commando or on all fours too!
  • DD2 sleeping for longer periods during the day so i can get things done

  • strange rash still not diagnosed
2manyglassesofmulledwine · 11/12/2005 16:56

Good
Christmas tree up
Started solids, ds loooves them

Bad
Christmas tree rather taller than appeared in shop, can't get into house now!
Getting knickers in twist about going back to work - leaving ds with childminder, and trying to work out what to do with feeds when working
Ds keeps getting stranded on front during night
