Okay, am starting a new thread for busy Junies to keep up with the main exploits of the gasbag Junie gang. Here's my summary report for week ending 1st October:

GOOD

  • have had consultation with Welshie's sleep lady, ds sleeping well at night SO FAR
  • have put ds on to Omneo Comfort at tea's suggestion, ds is now eating us out of house and home

BAD

  • sink has been leaking into downstairs neighbour's flat, potential insurance nightmare
  • ds still hugely grumpy about going down for his naps in the day, poor old other downstairs neighbours who can hear everything

BRIDGET JONES:

  • number of eps of Sex and the City watched when up with ds at 530 in the morning: about 20
OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lummox · 15/10/2005 18:47

AND the ups:

  • SIL went into labour this morning, waiting on news.
  • ds laughing like a drain.
  • ds trying to walk in the bath.
  • managing to get broadband reconnected (trying to discuss techie stuff in French pretty tough, so a real sense of achievement)
  • just had fresh oysters at home for the first time

AND the downs:

  • second set of jabs. ds not happy at all
  • sleep all upset again by second set of jabs
  • maternity leave fast disappearing

Bridget:

  • no. of exercise taks set myself: 0
  • no. of exercise tasks failed: 0
  • amount of exercise done: 0
  • guilt: 0

And for those who fancy it this week:

Big Brother moment:

This week's task was to put away the washing rather than leave it around in piles and start picking bits out of the piles to use.

The housemates:

FAILED

this week's task.

welshmum · 16/10/2005 19:20

Good:
Finished knitting a jumper for ds - my first garment with arms.
Took my Rose Queen dress and crown to dd's nursery and told them a story about it.
Being told several times that I am looking skinny
Ds going to bed at 7pm with no yelling (mostly)

Bad:
Friday night - up all night with dd and ds as major incident occured in our small road - joy riders/ambulance/car transporter/coppers etc etc
Ds waking up too much in the night anyway
Took another pair of boots back to the shop.
Friends capacity to lie about me being skinny.

Bridget bit;
Bottles of beer drunk a night - 1
G&B eaten per night - 1
Excersize - ha (contemplating friend's yoga class...)
Number of poos ds has done in a week - 1

Big Brother task:
Wash woolrest on our bed after dodgy smell of wee/milk/sick became embarrasingly unpleasant - completed! hurrah!

MrsWednesday · 16/10/2005 20:56

GOOD:
The sun has been shining.
Um.

BAD:
DS2 has had a really bad cold with accompanying nasty cough so has been up most of the night for the last four nights. Am running on empty - it's like having an unpredictable newborn again.
DH being sick and making so much noise he woke the whole house every time he retched. Then spending the next two days talking in a feeble voice and generally being no help whatsoever to poor old exhausted me. Sigh. (get the violins out )

BRIDGET:
Exercise achieved: one measly class this week.
Wine consumed: more than I should have but not enough to knock me out so I sleep through DS2's dramatic coughing.

BB (pseudo-science) task:
To progress research into pleasure/taste index of G&B, Lindt and Galaxy Promise bars of chocolate. PASSED WITH FLYING COLOURS.

Cooperoo · 17/10/2005 13:54

Beautiful outfits bought over by Mum for dd2.

BAD -
Our cleaner had a week off.
Dad and stepmum flew back to the UK
DD2 has a tooth
DD2 has forgotten how to sleep for longer than two hours.
DH gone back to work today.
DD1 seems to have dropped the lunchtime nap, but still needs it
I had a filling.
That the bad list could get very long as I am so tired today.

Amount of Cheesecake aimed to eat last night - None
Amount of Cheesecake consumed - At least two thirds .

Hi everyone. Long time, no post. SORRY!

Good:
Work is keeping me busy with meaningful employment (and paid overtime).
New nanny is lovely lovely lovely
DD an DS get along fine.
DS is showing signs of being an agreeable and very willing eater (started baby rice this week)... QUITE UNLIKE HIS SISTER WHO WAS A MISERABLE COW WHEN IT CAME TO FEEDING TIME.

Bad: I am a fat cow with no money to spend on bigger work clothes (or any other clothes for that matter)
Not enough time for mumsnet!!

Can't think in Bridget terms just now... maybe next post.

Good:

Haven't lost an ounce

bubbaloo · 24/10/2005 14:42

Good:

HV told me Ds should now be on solids as he's over 4 months,so started him on baby rice yesterday and he loves it.

Made a huge batch of mushy carrots and sweet potato last night,so the freezer is now well stocked for the next few weeks!

HV measured Ds's head and is very happy with it and not concerned about the shape of it.

Bought Ds's christmas pressie yesterday-a really cute little rocker.

Been really busy socialising and trying out even more baby groups.

Ds is laughing non stop now which is so lovely to watch.

Bad:

Spent far too much money shopping yesterday.

JonahB · 30/10/2005 19:04

The good bits:

  • Just got back from a lovely holiday in Donegal. Loads of fresh air, beautiful beach walks and plenty of food and Guiness. DS was an angel, slept through the evenings and nights as usual and was the only one who didn't feel utterly seasick on the ferry
  • Bottle feeding going well. Swapped over 1 1/2 feeds so far from b/feeding
  • Just started "solids" (not that i would call baby rice/wallpaper paste solids). Seems to be going fine

The bad bits:
-My car is supposed to be taken to be repaired tomorrow, though this is now unlikely as i have a totally flat tyre and no way of getting it off, as the car didn't come with the relevent tools.

  • I put on even more weight on holiday. May have been something to do with eating every hour, on the hour. Usually chocolate.
  • REALLY BAD MUMMY MOMENT - cut DS's thumb while using the nail clippers. Wouldn't stop bleeding, he screamed, i cried and 5 adults ran round us trying to calm situation down. Luckily, he is his mothers child and feeding him did the trick. I felt TERRIBLE
