Thanks TS - not sure my Mother has it maybe I just find it easier to say it to her though Wink. DS was up at 5am for some unknown reason this morning and when MIL surfaced she said - well why didn't you wake me!!

She also is fond of comparing DS and DNephew and asked the other day if I thought he was 'the way he isHmm' because I have lots of spare time (I presume she means in comparison to SIL) to take him to various activities, meet friends and have playdates etc. No it is just that SIL and I are very different. I went back to work after 6 months whereas she had 12 months ML and didn't seem to interract with another mother with a baby of similar age in the whole time and pretty much stayed in the house (from what I can work out). DNephew is lovely but personally I couldn't live like that and my situation is compounded by the fact that I have no relatives here or long established friendships like in the UK and I need a support network. Plus there's you lot of course Grin

Anyway like TS I think I'm feeling end of year blues a bit plus a bit homesick so just ignore me. Crux of it is I am limiting visitor time at our house next year.

luckoftheirish · 29/12/2010 07:56

Merlion girl you rant away all you want.. 6 weeks is a hell of a long time to have anyone in your house let alone a mil!!

we have had guests since xmas eve, i have cooked, cleaned and entertained every day since then, i have barely managed to play with the dds or see dh, its hard work.. so hide away in your office and think of the new bundle of joy that will be appearing in Junem you wonderful ds who is amazing and your lovely dh [hugs]..

Merlion · 29/12/2010 08:01

Here's to having our homes back to normal Loti!

blueberrysantabait · 29/12/2010 10:06

Morning all

Loti - enjoy your peaceful calm.

Merlion - you are a better woman then I am! I struggle with the IL for 10days on holiday but MIL for 6 weeks

Crispy - Hope your dad gets seen today and is on the mend soon.

TS - they make decaf for that very reason! Caffeine makes me very hyper and then leaves me with a caffeine hangover.

Star - I forgot to say how Sad that you got the response you did from your family but how wonderful about your ex.

SilkStalkings · 29/12/2010 10:34

Morning. Have come on to summon up courage to take a shower (HATE showers but need waking up properly.) Am determined to get to this party this avo as the kids need to get out and I really like this gang of parents (their kids go to school across the river but they are all slowly moving this side as they realise how awful/far away their secondary school is.)

Just started a new book, so far so great (phew as it's the size of the Qu'ran) 'The
Glass Books of The Dream Eaters' by something something Dahlquist. First chapter has been extremely Eyes Wide Shut.

Lucky Hope you weren't entertaining your bitch SIL (or if you did hope you gobbed in her gravyGrin).

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 29/12/2010 11:08

Morning Smile

GP coming at lunchtime and respiratory nurse coming with a nebuliser later too, so hopefully between them they can make him feel a bit better Smile

merlion 6 weeks deserves a medal in my book. Hide at your desk, enjoy sipping perfectly cooled water and the escape!

LOL'ing at 'wisdomisms' Grin

Off out to meet our French friends soon and then continue our Southern tour.....

And a cute cuddly post Xmas [fbear] hug for anyone in need Smile

TwilightSurfer · 29/12/2010 12:46

On cell. Hard to type. Slept okay. For the record I requested decaf but they were out and made no effort to offer me a little wait while a fresh pot brewed. Unlike McDo al that quickly fixed me a fresh pot the day before. Starve only saving grace was there banana bread. BBL

TwilightSurfer · 29/12/2010 17:54

. Did i kill the thread. Still on cell.

luckoftheirish · 29/12/2010 18:21

lol TS no u didn't everyone seems to be really busy!!!

we have just the 4 of now for one night yipee!!!!

SilkStalkings · 29/12/2010 18:25

YES!!! Made it to party, well worth it, what a fun bunch, at least 13 kids there too. Managed nearly 4hrs there (with aid of mulled wine) but DS2 hadn't napped so was becoming a bit of PITA. Hope DH home soon, feeling a bit tiddly.

BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 18:45

ladies quick poll and will be back later once DH out on the lash - these for the shop yes or no??

OP posts:
luckoftheirish · 29/12/2010 18:57

i would say a def yes but i have two very girlie girls Grin.. if you do get them i will be asking for some Grin

BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 20:33

thanks loti - I want a black one for L (don't ask) but to get them wholesale I have to buy 20 and I'm not sure my other half is keen on having them in the shop Grin we'll see!

Husbandface in the pub and all 3 in bed (fingers crossed) so let me catch up !

OP posts:
SilkStalkings · 29/12/2010 21:51

I would say no, don't get involved with clothes. They take up so much storage and display space. And it makes it much more of a kiddy shop, it would lose the added value of escapism that the shop offers to ladies. Plus you'd get many more sticky fingers fiddling with stuff, eg beads and they'd be trying them on etc. Plus there are never any boy clothes as exciting, it's a bit unfair on them. And don't you stock tutukits anyway?

luckoftheirish · 29/12/2010 22:22

oooh silks thats a v good point Smile i got swept away by the pics and imagining my dds in them Grin

BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 22:25

Thanks silks. I have a friend that has 2 of her tutu kits in the shop just now that haven't shifted at all and we have a few items of clothing but not much. There isn't anywhere in C that sells any kind of kids clothing and having been asked for already made tutu's I just thought I'd investigate it Smile It's still being considered! We've some Gillian Kyle clothes and some of these which are just brilliant tightsforsoreeyes

I've just emptied my entire inbox/folders etc of all correspendence from the Trust and am about to pen them a letter letting them know I won't be involved from this year onwards, at all. Whether or not I'll be brave enough to send it I'm not sure but it's very satisfying at the minute!

OP posts:
BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 22:29

and as for exciting boys clothes? We don't tend to get any boys coming into the craft/bead/cake shop where as C has tonnes of girls at her jewellery classes who come in regularly for a chat/shop. I hadn't considered that not having boys stuff would be an issue Hmm will give it some more thought, thanks.

Oh and I meant to apologise for the update about stocking fillers on the FB page although it did make me wonder who would be reading it seeing as nobody under the age of 10 is meant to be able to have a FB account. Haven't mentioned stockings/santa again though so thanks.

OP posts:
BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 22:33

and I love the fact that they come in their own hat boxes too Blush am aware that makes for a pathetic reason to buy in stock!

OP posts:
blueberrysantabait · 29/12/2010 22:49

Oh Bibi - DD1 needs one of those! in it's hat box too Xmas Blush

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 29/12/2010 22:52

Evening Smile

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 29/12/2010 22:55

Just at PIL's and hopping on their t'internet on my phone. Lovely lunch and have an invite for Paris in springtime. hurrah! Dad prescribed truckloads of medication so fingers x'd on that front.

Bibi - a no from me for the same reason as silks re diluting your adult offering. That said if you have had requests, then go sell!

BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 23:00

evening cripper - Envy re Paris although DH and I both have time off at Easter Shock so we're happy to inviteourselves keep you company Grin

BBSB - behave yourself!

cancel the lookout, my period is here. I had deluded myself into thinking I might be pregnant even though I knew I wasn't. Wasn't for taking a test before Hogmany though Grin

OP posts:
CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 29/12/2010 23:05

26th ish of march iirc. Only for a weekend Sad.

Snap re period, although would be a medical miracle if the alternative were true Hmm

BibiBelle · 29/12/2010 23:08

oh enough with your bleating only for a weekend heart Wink I think we're heading emerald isle when we're off at beginning of April - I have to be careful though as determined not to be there for random aunt's wedding which we don't want to go to Blush

OP posts:
CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 29/12/2010 23:11
