whatshesaid no, S doesn't really have any good habits, it just means he's up 5-6 times a night at the mo instead of 4.

mlic sorry they were useless, fwiw I wouldn't let them put my lo under GA unless there was a very good reason. Could you think about trying private? Costs the earth I know but at least they take you seriously.

Seriously though, this 2 hourly waking has been going on for weeks now and I hate it and I hate bfing and right now I hate pretty much everything - I'll come back when I'm nice.

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2010 08:43

mlic doh! Sorry. But my question still stands - why are they looking lower down if W's suck is poor?

Actually wss you're right, I think they do all vary. I won't even bother looking up when this was 'meant' to happen.

Plays recorded message of 'It's just a phase. This too will pass' to chulita. You're doing great - I don't know how you cope with those nights and be even slightly cheerful (or dh and mlic for that matter). Be as grumpy as you like!

tsc you ok?

memphis83 · 16/11/2010 08:46

mlic im not surprised you dont want to put w throught that, they could have at least explained their reasons to you!!
chulita if i only came on here when i was nice i wouldnt be on here much!! Grin
so foggy here cant even see end of garden! got blood tests later to see if there is anything more wrong than anxiety, also got dentist for my crown and i had MRI yesterday, a consultant was their throughout the scan to see outcome, he doesnt seem as concerned as he was originally!
but Lyndon is faulty goods, hes a totally different baby gone is my laid back baby! is anyone elses LO squeeling (sp?) he makes this high pitch noise that hes just realised he can do, thinking its very clever, ive had that since 5 this morning! please let this phase pass and a new noise take over!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2010 08:56

cakes Im usually ok during the day if Ive got things to do. If Im stuck indoors even half the day I get tired and VERY grumpy (as does Dylan).

He slept 10-2, came in my bed then slept til around 5ish, then woke at half 6 then 8 when I got up.

I havent got anything to do today :( I had such a busy day yesterday. I was going to meet a friend but she cant do today. I might go shopping or something, spending more money lol.

memphis83 · 16/11/2010 09:24

dh im the opposite to you if i dont get one proper day in the house away from everything then i go stir crazy!!i just take Lyndon for a walk for half hour to get him some fresh air! i need that day to get the jobs done, i turn off house phone and dont answer the door!!

Spirael · 16/11/2010 09:38

Morning all! :) Another grey, frosty morning here... Ah well.

That does sound like pretty shocking care, mlic! Definitely argue it and make sure that there are really good reasons before letting them go ahead. GA really knocks you around a bit. Thanks for that booklet link, I've read through and bookmarked it in case I ever need to use it. (Hopefully not!)

M learnt to squeal over the weekend too, memphis. Confused The neighbours must have thought we were murdering her, from the noise she was making! She's started to calm down a bit from it now though and only squeals on special occasions. Wink

She's nearly there with rolling over and laughing, which is a relief as she seemed to be lagging behind a bit for those development markers. Though I think it's mostly because she's so lazy laid back rather than incapable!

A new question... Out of curiosity, when can you tell whether your LO is likely to be left or right handed? Confused I ask because M is very dominant on her left hand side at the moment, she always reaches with her left, it's always her left hand in her mouth, etc. She'll use her right, but only if I'm holding her left hand. However it might change going forward..?

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/11/2010 09:39

memphis I cant even start on the housework whilst Dylan is awake, he doesnt sit still long enough for even one job.
I need a few hours while someone takes Dylan out so I can get it all done.

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2010 09:45

dh and all re housework - imagine trying to do it with a baby crying AND a toddler untidying everything you've just tidied. My idea of hell on earth!

spirael it's pretty late for rh or lh being determined. My toddler seemed as tho he was lh way after a year old but recently seems to favour his rh.

spirael i was thinking that about hands too, L uses his left hand 99% of the time!! good to know that noise should calm down, i wont mind shouting or crying but a squeal goes right through me!!
mlic have you tried those soft tipped spoons, L wont open his mouth for a solid plastic spoon?

God that's so annoying mlic. I remember once I finally won a battle to get F down when he was a baby (this was the baby who wouldn't take a daytime nap until I finally won the war when he was about 6 months old) and a salesman knocked at the door and woke F up and narrowly escaped with his life.

memphis83 · 16/11/2010 15:53

oh mlic surprised you didnt tell them both to f*ck off!
right then L has been up since 5.30 ish cried, screamed thrown up every 5 mins and grizzled, not got anything done today, then sil takes him while i go docs and dentist and has slept the whole time, its clearly his teeth making him feel rubbish but he hasnt got a fever so is there anything i can do for him? 1st time mum confusion starting to turn to panic!????

Chulita · 16/11/2010 16:26

All I do in that situation memphis is calpol and cuddles. It's so frustrating but at this age there's not much else we can do. Will he chomp on a teether? S isn't much good at that yet so it's all fists in the mouth at the mo.

memphis83 · 16/11/2010 16:36

chulita bought so many teethers but he isnt interested, so im ok to give calpol eventhough he hasnt got a temperature? right cuddles and calpol it is, although im not sure cuddles are what he wants we are both scrathched up from his little temper! i had so many mitts i think the washer ate them!!!

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2010 16:46

yes give calpol as its a painkiller (paracetamol basically). if he's being sick tons then might be a tummy bug not teething. also bonjela or similar (make sure its right age)

have you tried sophie giraffe teether that needle mentioned?

socks are best scratch mitts. didn't bother buying mitts this time!

scuse typing - lefthand while bf

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2010 16:47

clarifying re sick - felix was v sicky refluxy baby and was sick with teething but not that frequently

CakeandRoses · 16/11/2010 16:50

also did you get the teether that mlic recommended? that looked good. also i'm convinced the amber necklaces have helped

memphis83 · 16/11/2010 16:55

yes cakes got that teether, been looking at a sophie giraffe, hes always sicky due to reflux but this is worse, very mucusy! got hv tomorrow to keep a check on me so will mention it then, even crying out in his sleep! looking forward to dh getting home so i can have a bath!! thanks for advice
