Good luck DGT!

Knitting great about M but v sorry you have this worry about the fibroid.

My friend is having her spleen out tomorrow. I'm hoping and praying that she's ok.

Good night Smile

DebInAustria · 03/11/2010 22:49

Rolf, hope she's OK, did her ex go out to her?

ktpie · 04/11/2010 08:17

I hope your friend is OK Rolf.

Knitting - sorry to hear about the fibroid. Do you have a consultant or is there a GP who can answer some of your questions about future pregnancies?
Great news about M.

Dewin - definitely ring clearblue, they should refund you for the tests.

Deb - house sounds great, love the fact that everyone is booking themselves in to come and see you!

DGT and anyone else studying, I'm always impressed by people managing to do exams when they work and have kids.

Bonfire food - I would make parkin, in fact I did, last week, and it's all gone now so I'll have to make some more. I always associate it with bonfire night. It's best a day or two after you have made it as it gets a bit more sticky, better get baking!

systemsaddict · 04/11/2010 09:32

OK, so that's chilli (will do 2 sorts as have a veggie coming), jackets, nachos and associated dips, then parkin for pudding. Can't wait Grin

Rolf hope your friend's op goes well.

Knitting good luck with the fibroid - I'm sure it will be worth having it sorted out and you will feel better once it's done - but must be a worry.

DGIT good luck with the studying!

Dewin I think the GP can do blood tests which would give you an indication too?

ktpie · 04/11/2010 09:51

What time do you want us all round Systems? Grin

systemsaddict · 04/11/2010 10:39

Amberc · 04/11/2010 10:53

Blimey Dewin - what kind of funny wee have you got?!

Sysyem - please may I come to your bonfire night party it sounds great!

Rolf - good luck for your friend's operation - hope all goes well x

Knitting - glad to hear Michael is fattening up! I have a fibroid but it's not very big. It does cause heavy periods though. I was reading about fibroids on t'internet - what kind do you have? As far as the article said they can do a myomectomy which preserves fertility. Hope it works out - are you seeing a specialist? Maybe removing the fibroid might make it easier to conceive as I know they do adversley affect fertility too...

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 04/11/2010 12:48

knitting the insert arrived this morning - thank you so much. What kind of surgery is your gynaecologist suggesting? there are lots of options, ask lots of questions and as amber says, maybe removing it will improve things rather than make it worse? fingers crossed.

definitely up for a meet up when you are up at Easter, is it Dunblane you are heading to?

rolf hope your friend's operation went well today, and that the results come back all clear for her.

systems yum.

DGIT good luck today, I feel your pain as you well know!

Rolf · 04/11/2010 13:35

I've just had an e-mail to tell me that my friend's operation went well. Thanks so much for your concern, everyone Smile

DebInAustria · 04/11/2010 13:55

Signed Grin now just got to wait for the buyers to sign!

PiggyPenguin · 04/11/2010 14:36

Fantastic news deb congratulations

Rolf · 04/11/2010 15:53

Great news Deb Smile

going · 04/11/2010 16:21

knitting my best friend had 19 fibroids removed in September. She was told she should still be able to concieve but would have to have a c-section. Hope it doesn't affect her fertility as she is only 32 and doesn't have any kids yet.

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 04/11/2010 16:21

Done! Phew. Till next year anyway. Thank you for all your lovely words of support.

Am completely knackered. I think someone asked how much I had left to do and I'm not sure if I answered. 2 exams in May, one in November and a dissertation. And any resits... But I'm on the home straight. Sort of.

I've got a terrible crick in my neck from all the writing over the last two days. 'Tis quite sore so feeling sorry for myself. DH has to go out tonight which is a PITA.

Knitting sorry to read about the fibroid situation.

Dewin, how odd. Get thee to your GP for a blood test.

Deb - yay on the house progress.

everyone else.

Amberc · 04/11/2010 16:39

Domestic - here's me being a nob again but what do all your exams get you - is it a higher qualification? (More money??!)

Deb - that's great news - it's been a long time coming hasn't it - are you excited? Have you sorted the schools?

systemsaddict · 04/11/2010 17:04

Nice to have good news from Deb, Rolf, and DGIT!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 04/11/2010 18:28

I'm doing a post graduate qualification in HR management Amber, which will allow me to become a Chartered Member of the CIPD (HR's professional body). It won't necessarily get me more money in my current job, but it will widen future job opportunities though. Well, that's the theory anyway!

SpiderWilliam · 04/11/2010 18:55

Knitting sorry to hear your news about the fibroids.

DGT well done on finishing the exams: much respect coming your way, I certainly couldn't do it.

Deb brilliant news.

I have had a 39 week mw appoint this afternoon. We decided to try for a sweep which she managed. Apparently I am 2-3cm, with a soft but thick cervix. The baby is quite high. She said she could easily break my waters Shock. Thankfully she didn't. She also declared that it was probably "another lazy boy" Hmm based upon the heart beat being slower than girls' tend to be.

DH has just walked in. I told him I am 2-3cm and he visibly paled Grin. I don't think he's quite ready for this baby yet...

going · 04/11/2010 18:58

fab news spider, will be waiting for news!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 04/11/2010 19:09

How exciting Spider. Are you feeling organised?

SpiderWilliam · 04/11/2010 19:17

Not organised, but too lazy to do anymore. I am settling for slovenly.

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 04/11/2010 20:08

Slovenly sounds fine to me Spider! Exciting news, we will all be waiting for daily updates now!

SpiderWilliam · 04/11/2010 20:14

I am sure I will still be waiting in 3 weeks... Grin

DewinDoeth · 04/11/2010 22:31

I was wondering where you were and whether you were in labour!
Are you 2-3 cm dilated??? It took me days to get to that! Envy And no pain or nothing? Just casual relaxed dilating?

DebInAustria · 05/11/2010 05:32

how exciting Spider

Amber . school is a bit complicated as the house we're renting is closest to the school where there isn't place for Tristan, so they said that Stefan could go to that school on the school bus and Tristan could go to the other one on a differnet bus, or I can apply for a place for Stefan on the same bus as Tristan, told you it was complicated!!!!
