Well AH was kind enough to lend me her sling so I'm "paying it forward" as they say Smile.

Dh will post it for you tomorrow, so it may even arrive before the Nipper!

wonderful knitting , thank you so much! I shall look for a chance to pay something else forward to someone!

Amberc · 02/11/2010 21:29

Just had my first private ante natal appointment - blimey - you get what you pay for 'twas lovely! We took Luke in his PJs and he was as good as gold and fell asleep on the way back. Babies all good one transverse and one breech (doesn't really matter as having section anyway). I wasn't feeling so much movement on the top and was worried about the top baby but they've moved so it's all head at the top now anyway. Both nearly 3 lb each which are excellent weights for 27+4. I watched multiple mums today and the woman's 37 week gestation twins were only half a pound more each! Might get some sleep now after all.

Who won Masterchef?

ktpie · 03/11/2010 09:47

Good news Amber, sounds like it is all going well.

Bugaboo Donkey, that has made me laugh! Not a very yummy mummy sort of name is it?

I have only had one change bag, an oioi one, I got it when I had H, before that I just used a large handbag, which actually I may go back to as the change bag is a pain to carry. I often tip everything into an old rucksack instead.

Deb - how's it going? I hated moving house, our estate agents were useless, and there were only two houses in the chain, both with the same estate agent, so you would have thought that would have made it easier, but anything they could possibly mess up they did.

Sybil - my MIL says the same thing about potty training, I'm surprised she hasn't started nagging us about H yet.

Is anyone going to any firework displays? Someone I am friendly with from the library group was telling us about a local display they are going to (with similar aged kids), not sure how it would work out with the boys, but I guess we could always come home if they hate it.

Amberc · 03/11/2010 10:36

I'm going to fireworks but od knows how I'm going to stand up through the whole thing!

going · 03/11/2010 11:21

I'm going to a fireworks display too. Thankfully my mum is going to be over so she can saty at home with dd2(6)who hates fireworks. Last years I took all three by myself - dd1 loved it, dd2 had her head stauck up my bum and ds stuck his head between my boobs - I love fireworks!!!

PiggyPenguin · 03/11/2010 12:03

Amber, Claire won maasterchief. Glad to hear all is good with the twins.

We normally do a few fireworks in the back garden with the kids inside watching through the patio door, but now we are in the new house I am not sure. The garden is bigger but has so many large trees over hanging it I am a bit scared we will set one on fire. DS has a fantastic view from his loft room so we may just sit up there with flapjacks and snacks and watch everyone else's!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 03/11/2010 12:35

Glad to hear all is going well Amber.

We're not going to any fireworks. We were going to take S on Friday, but have a babysitter lined up for us to go out to something else, so decided not to miss out on the babysitting opportunity Grin. Not really sure how S would be to be honest, so I think we'll just wait till next year maybe.

Had an exam today, another tomorrow. Today's wasn't actually too bad. Fingers crossed!

DebInAustria · 03/11/2010 12:36

signing tomorrow Smile

systemsaddict · 03/11/2010 13:37

oh fantastic Deb!

We're watching local annual fireworks spectacular from the back garden, very excited because we should get a great view from where we are, having a few people around - what should I prepare? had thought jacket potatoes, maybe salsa, sour cream, nachos, grated cheese .... I'd like to get some bonfire toffee too but think it's a bit of a choking hazard!

Amberc · 03/11/2010 13:47

Do you eat toffee apples on bonfire night or is that Halloween? How about a fondue - yumbotastic!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 03/11/2010 14:00

How about a big pot of something warming like chilli?

Am pondering a Christmas purchase for DH. I've seen a nice (not too expensive) cashmere scarf, but I know there are two books that he'd really like too. Hmmm. He does really love reading, but he could really do with smartening himself up too!

S appears to have discovered Santa this week. Though I'm not sure where from exactly. He was in Sainsburys yesterday with DH, picked up a (rather large) toy and said 'Santa!'. Later, they saw a Christmas tree and S said - Santa! Presents under tree! Am Shock but secretly delighted he's picked up my Christmas gene Grin.

DebInAustria · 03/11/2010 16:00

We will no longer be homeless in 3 weeks, Dad has just been to see a place for us to rent , and so it's all arranged subject to the usual checks. I can't tell you how relieved I am.It's thisSo, now onto removals!!

DebInAustria · 03/11/2010 16:01

apologies for the me me me posts, am quickly reading all your news too.

abdnhiker · 03/11/2010 17:20

We're going to fireworks with another family - their kids are older but we'll just leave if it's too much for Fraser. We're having a meal here first - chilli with baked potatoes and nachos is our menu.

deb Grin I love hearing your news! That house looks good too.

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 03/11/2010 17:49

We're planning on going to the big display at Glasgow Green, going to take C in the backpack carrier so we can't lose her and have tea somewhere on the way straight after nursery - I'm strangely excited about it.

My nipper arrived today, 2 days early, despite not paying for next day delivery, which would have been today anyway! am waiting for DH to get home to take it out of the box!

Have been out for afternoon tea with neighbour this afternoon - SO full, it was scrummy and have been good and brought home the earl grey fruit cake and the mini cupcake for DH and C (only because I couldn't possible have eaten any more!)

Deb yay for house and non-homelessness!

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 03/11/2010 17:51

oh and Amber - I love your typo of od knows how you're going to stand up - I have an image of a small alien creature called od who is all-knowing about your physical state!

Amberc · 03/11/2010 20:26

Biscuits that's exactly what I meant - Od is very wise! Let me know about the nipper and the recline seats - knitting says that they don't go upright and kids might get fed up - that's the only thing that's putting me off.

Deb - great house - seems very reasonable!

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 03/11/2010 20:35

I will do Amber, or perhaps I will commune with Od, and he will pass it on to you! I am currently waiting for DH to get home as he's on call and I don't think I can currently get it out of the box myself. it's like waiting for Christmas, having a big parcel and not being able to open it!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 03/11/2010 20:41

I remember DH being furious with me when he came home to find a fully built bugaboo bee. I wasn't quite as far gone as you though!

Studying is wearing me down. I'm so bloody bored of it Sad

DewinDoeth · 03/11/2010 21:01

Deb that is great news - and the cottage looks great too - bet the boys will love that garden with the trees!

The bugaboo donkey - who on earth came up with that? It's far too close to the description of stressed mother that I comply with from time to time... I guess, though, that I won't be needing a double buggy? I'm assuming not!

I'm still kind of in denial here. And I did another test, another book error (and I had followed the instructions perfectly this time) so I'm thinking of phoning clearblue when they're open (7am - 3pm Hmm strange times!). I'm not spending another tenner on one. I'll assume it was this month but the scan will tell hopefully.

So tired and so much laundry to do...

DG sympathies on the studying - it often seems like it's never going to end. On the plus side, once it is done, you have a load more free time afterwards! When is your exam and how much more have you got to do (i.e. is this the last exam etc)?

Rolf · 03/11/2010 21:52

Do you need us to cheer you on, DGT? Smile. It must be horrible. I would hate it.

Biscuits your day sounds brilliant. You're enjoying mat leave aren't you? Hope the nipper is just what you want.

Deb I like hearing your news too! The house looks perfect, and what a relief to have it sorted out.

Dewin £10 "book error" is pretty crap. Maybe you have weird wee? My friend is very proud of the fact that she has some genetic mutation that means that her when she's eaten asparagus, her wee doesn't smell any different. Or maybe it's that she can't smell it. Anyway, something...
I think I should leave the medical asides to Biscuits Grin

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 03/11/2010 22:07

Hi all, great news about the move Deb - we are definitely coming to Scotland at Easter so if you're ready for visitors by then we'd love to stop by Grin.

DG and the Scottish contingent, we will need to arrange to meet up if poss Smile.

M has been signed off from paediatric care which is great. He's now a porky 25th centile baby Smile.

On a less positive note, it looks like I'm going to have to have my fibroid operated on, although this could put paid to anymore children Sad. However, I don't know how risky it is to try and get pg/carry a pg when you have a large fibroid in your uterus (size of an orange). Feeling a bit flattend by it all.

Anyway, knackered and off to bed.

Aw, thank you all. Last exam tomorrow, 2 in May then 1 in Nov (discounting resits!). I'm just sooooooooo bad at revising for exams. Too easily distracted.

Meetup sounds good Knitting! Great news about Michael.

Fab about the house Deb!

Off to bed - am way too tired to read through my notes so have set alarm to get me up at crack of dawn. Wish me luck!

DebInAustria · 03/11/2010 22:43

aw thanks everyone

Knitting, sorry to hear your news, I can imagine you must be feeling low about it, ((hugs)) Would be lovely to meet you on your way up to Scotland!Great about M though.

Dewin, there's also a stream the other side of the garden, which I am sure will be explored shortly after we move in!!Hopefully not by Ethan. What a bugger about the tests

Goddess - best of luck for tomorrow, I cannot imagine revising now.

Hi everyone else
