UKIP want us out of the EU, I love Europe can't stand the EU.We pay 40 million a day to them
1)72% of our laws are now made in Brussells, from fuel taxes, farming, fishing and immigration.
2)We pay £40 million a day to be in the EU.
3)The Two richest countries in Europe-Norway and Switzerland are not even in the EU.
4)Under labour we now have 3.5 million extra people living in this country. We need proper border controls. Nick Cleggs policy is to count people in and out of the country, and force them to work in 'regions' totally unworkable. UKIP would keep our proud tradition of helping genuine asylum seekers.
5)UKIP does not appear to be anti-christian as do the other parties. The labour parties spin doctor Alistair Campbell said they "don't do God!" I do.
6)UKIP believes in holding referendums for the electorate on key local and international issues. I like this.
7)Crime is now out of contol, UKIP would build more prisons. Last but not least, Lord Pearson (leader) is 'posh' and does not try to hide it.

LULUMAMM. I thought that we were not allowed to swear on these posts. Free speech.....
night,night.

OP posts:

Linctash and daftpunk. Please refrain from swearing on your posts. You are lowering yourself to the level of the others, both of you have put up intelligent posts, and I think it demeans your argument. Alright then, swear if you like, I do believe in free speech...............

I have been tempted out of MN semi-retirement to post this picture disproving any attempt to straighten out the Romans...

Lulumaam · 24/04/2010 08:35

who said we are not allowed to swear?

DP had said she'd been told to fuck off, i was merely saying that that had not always been the case anyway......

"Paul Schaefer, a former Nazi corporal and founder of a cult-like community in Chile, has died in prison aged 88.

He was in jail serving a 20-year sentence for sexually abusing children at the Colonia Dignidad, some during Chile's military dictatorship.

The former Baptist preacher established the colony in southern Chile in 1961, after fleeing Germany to escape separate child abuse charges.

Schaefer denied allowing Chile's secret police to use the enclave as a centre for torturing left-wing dissidents in the 1970s and 1980s.

A Chilean congressional report has said that Colonia Dignidad - which means Dignity Colony - operated as a "state within a state" during the Pinochet regime, thanks to Schaefer's close ties to the country's ruling elite."

What a surprise - right wingers, torture and paedophilia hand in hand yet again! What is that about?

daftpunk · 24/04/2010 17:52

CF;

Get a grip, this thread is about UK politics.

sungirltan · 24/04/2010 19:26

dp - bit naive arn't you

crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:10

Lulumamm. I did'nt say that this opening post was not straight from the manifesto, of course the statements were.I don't deal in making things up, as some of you do on this thread, stating some truths/half truths and some outright lies! This was of course purely from UKIP. Why don't you and others say something constructive for a change instead of sitting around your cauldron and bashing DP with your broomsticks.

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 24/04/2010 22:13

That's not very Christian of you, crystal.

ZephirineDrouhin · 24/04/2010 22:19

No - crystal is right: if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything.

And in that spirit, I'd like to say:

Best of luck, UKIP followers. I'm sure you are going to do very well in the election.

Lulumaam · 24/04/2010 22:21

like DP has never uttered a nasty or offensive word?

i do plenty of constructive stuff thank you, debating politics on MN is one of them

crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:21

BecauseImworthit. Yes, I quite agree, must now post political stuff, particularly as Linctash appears to be out at the pub.

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 24/04/2010 22:23

crystal - why don't you just participate in the rest of the boards? There's a lot more to MN than politics. It would be interesting to see what you have to say on other parenting issues.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 24/04/2010 22:24

"This was of course purely from UKIP"
...so you just know it must be true!

Oh,except the 'love Europe, hate EU' line, that's from the BNP. Or do they share fiction writers?

crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:24

LuLumamm. As you will have noticed, I have also reprimanded him for his swearing! He's getting 10 of the best!

OP posts:
crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:35

BecauseImworthit. I am going to open a conversation on one of the parenting boards.
That br'sd Ed Balls is bringing out a new rule in schools from September. Any child found using taunts in the playground that are deemed offensive ( you've got a choclate
face etc, or your a vanilla face, nonsense) their names will be put on a 'list' and it not be removed until they are 18. I have already spoken to my son's headteacher and she says that "as far as she is concerned, she will not put any pupils on these lists, even if she's asked" she knows the reaction from the parents! This info was not only in the papers, but was on the forum 'parents outloud'. See, now you've made me become all
serious.

OP posts:
crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:51

Lulumamm. I think you'll find DP is a man, unless he contradicts me, his terminology does not sound like a woman.

OP posts:
crystal123 · 24/04/2010 22:58

Goodnight.

OP posts:
GrumpyYoungFogey · 24/04/2010 23:14

647 posts on from the OP, and I am voting UKIP, because I have no BNP candidate.

crystal123 · 25/04/2010 08:43

Dear. MNs you will be horrified and dismayed at my next post, I'm leaving..............and why. Ed Balls, brings in 'hate list' for young children (who say silly things in the playground)Civil liberties under threat. Violence up, free speech down,EU out of control....and it has taken 40 years to get here! It will take another 40 years to get it back to any way a sensible, democratic country (not an elected dictatorship!) by that stage my eyebrows will be thinning, my top lip will sprout hair, and my teeth will be divorcing each other!I will have thin hair (comb-over like ageing rocker) I will be walking with a stick ( provided by NHS, and highly unattractive) I shall be ignored by men(unlike now, gorgeous SOHs husband fancies me)and society as whole! Time to join the 475,000 who emigrated last year, (up on previouse years 350,000) No after election , time to sit on a beach, write, paint, look out at sea. No, it's time to go,
I will miss blighty so....(tears welling up).

OP posts:
crystal123 · 25/04/2010 09:22

Heathen. "love Europe, hate EU it's what the BNP says" I'm afraid it's because you're a heathen/atheist that you cannot believe the opening post (ye of little/no faith). Why don't you stop analysing everything and write something/witty/constructive/funny/informative. I would even be willing to hear what you have to say about Cleggs manifesto! Roll on May the 6th!

"On another note...on one hand the UKIP claim they are very anti-big government but on the other they are in favour of building more prisons, policing more borders, restricting freedom of movement, religion and sexuality and cite Norway as a country to admire and imitate..."

Small government, for me, means less interference in the lives of citizens. It does not mean that borders should be open to all-comers, or that criminals should be allowed to roam the streets simply because prisons are overcrowded. UKIP does not intend to restrict freedom of movement, religion or sexuality. I don't know why you think it should? (There is no requirement to wear the burka/niqab in any religion.) Perhaps you have been listening to anti-UKIP/anti-EU propaganda. And Norway appears to be doing something right, since it appears right at the top of the UN's list of most desireable countries in which to live. Do you have a problem with Norway?

"It's like those Christian Conservatives in the US who are very anti-state sponsored healthcare and believe fervently in health freedom and individual responsibility - unless it's about abortion / birth control - which apparently is a matter for government."

Hardly. UKIP is fully committed to the NHS (its health policy www.ukip.org/content/ukip-policies/1502-health-ukip-policy and has no plans to change the abortion or contraception laws. Personally I think the number of abortions is far too high at almost 200,000 per year. How can any society be happy with that?
