Farage failed to become an MP 7 times before he did. So your point is...

Farage is not the PM.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 12/09/2026 17:09

Yes, and it's a waste of public money simply to make a political point.

But not illegal.
If you don't like it, lobby your MP about it.

No shit. That's why I said MP not PM.

This

We've already dealt with that point. See above.

Switchnow · 12/09/2026 17:14

I actually thought he had paid for it. Another lie!

Are you happy to pay for repeated self serving elections then? I’m not.

.

Just out on interest do you recognise how similar farage is to partridge? I mean if I didn't know better id think Steve coogan was just trolling us all (I wish)

Reminds me of a sticker I saw in a car once that said

"Make your MP work - vote for them"

viques · 12/09/2026 17:15

Makes you wonder what they think Farage is going to be able to provide for them in the future if, heaven forfend, he finds enough crazy people prepared to take off their balaclavas in the voting booth and vote for him. I reckon £35 million would buy a good chunk of the UK for a FOF ( friend of Farage). If , for example, I was living on the Isle of Wight I would be afraid, very afraid 🙂

CurlewKate · 12/09/2026 17:15

Love how people are trying to deflect from Farage’s interesting sources of funding….🤣”No-look OVER HERE!!”

Tbf Labour are probably kicking themselves they didn’t think of this, but legally it’ll be hard to do much now.

Did any leader of the Conservative Party sing hitler youth songs and say that hitler got it right to a Jewish school mate?

While this government announces sanctions against ‘Israel’ ( Jewish, innit) to buy votes in Holborn -utterly shameless.

WorthyMintKoala · 12/09/2026 17:19

Let’s just pray it still isn’t enough to help them get in.

No it’s silly for anyone to use. Harman laughed it off, on here it’s Mi5 level.

I think I'd like parties to be centrally funded. Hear me out.... base it on a per vote limit based on the last General Election results. So if you get 20 million votes for Labour, that's what you get £20million at £1 per head. Or something like that. No corporate/union or personal donations allowed.

Ah it's just a wild thought and I know it's probably fraught with more negatives than I think!

OK, throw the brickbats at me, I'd be interested to hear other alternatives!

Per vote means new parties or independent candidates wouldn't be able to stand for the first time as they'd have no funding and gives the previous winner an advantage.

Per constitutant and candidate could work though as they would all have the same budget

This is going to be a difficult topic to discuss if we can't say the C word without being censored

Are people not allowed to say crypto?

Funny then that Rabbis in the UK have said it is the right thing to do. And people in Israel. Are the similar sanctions imposed by France, Canada and others also designed to ensure Labour win Holborn & St Pancras?

Let’s hope it gets used to remove Labour.

Labour sent an email out begging for donations mentioning these two huge donations to Reform.

Rather than state their case for needing support because of all the good things they do.

Goodness, are not allowed to say anything negative about Badenoch? By the by, she must be raging that Delo took no notice of her little note to him and gave Farage all the dough.
