She's brilliant, I've always thought so but she is getting better all the time. Doing this really suits her.

Full speech from yesterday:

https://x.com/i/status/2054588111317811649

I've seen lots of positive comments online and I agree with them. She said what needed to be said (although I do disagree with her on the trail hunting issue), and the govt really had no comeback.

She also looks fantastic and I bet she's great fun at parties 🥳

I only wish her time had come a bit sooner, when the Conservative party still had a chance. I think they'd have been far better under her than Boris, or any of the others.

However she's doing a great job of holding Labour to account right now.

Conservatives (@Conservatives) on X

WATCH: @KemiBadenoch annihilate Keir Starmer and the entire Labour Party in her response to the King's Speech 🔥

Why mention her looks though? What does that have to do with how well she does her job?

would you have used that sentence if she were male? “Looks fantastic and I bet she’s great fun at parties”

because it seems completely irrelevant.

although maybe being great fun at parties is a key conservative attribute- don’t they keep partying on while the rest of the country is in lockdown?

you’ve undermined your entire post with that one sentence.

Boris was great fun at parties. Wasn't that what brought him down in the end.

You may have failed to notice this, but there are an awful lot of posts on mumsnet on the same subjects. Mumsnet is a very, very repetitive place. The rather obvious explanation for this is the we all live in the same culture and lots of us are responding to the same phenomena. In this case, Kemi doing a really good job and being a politician we admire. There really is nothing more to it than that.

I don't notice this ' everyone who has an opinion different from me is a bot' coming from people on the right. Just from people on the left. Just like I never noticed dating profiles saying ' If you voted Remain, we won't get on', in the way I noticed ' If you voted Leave, we won't get on.' Just like I never noticed ' Never kissed a Labour voter' t-shirts. Or people posting memes or shouting ' Fuck Labour' or ' ' Fuck the Tories.'. Maybe I missed it. But I doubt it. This utter contempt for people who disagree with them comes overwhelmingly from the left, and, more than that, is utterly normalised on the left.

There was a post the other day from a dog lover saying all the ' I don't like dogs' posts must come from bots.

Why can't some people accept that other people just don't like the things they do and have good reasons for not liking those things.

It’s not about objecting to posts that disagree. It’s a particular style of post that repeats clickbait type mantras “I hate Starmer! Who’s with me?” “Labour are shit and always have been!” which look a bit like party office “seeding” a site well known for centrist mums.

People are just used to the opposite on mn. The op isn’t paid, she has posting history but it’s a given she’ll get accused of it.

@EasternStandard , people are used to you on MN.

This tedious pretence that no MNers are rightwing, except our heroine bravely posting against the brainwashed horde, is so over.

NigelFaragesFakeRoarofLaughter · 14/05/2026 14:56

Well, that and the flipflopping between claiming in one post that they're a lone heroic voice...
... and in the next that eveyone agrees with them.

I'm bored with this behaviour.

Namechange and rattled? I didn’t realise you controlled who posted.

The op isn’t a ‘bot’ as much as some accuse of that,

NigelFaragesFakeRoarofLaughter · 14/05/2026 15:01

I've no idea what that post even means, @EasternStandard .

I have been on and off this site for 20 years. I really like Kemi.

MyFellowScroller · 14/05/2026 15:47

Yesterday was expected to be an important/dramatic day in parliament, Nigel Farage was not there in the afternoon.
Too busy? Couldn't be arsed?

Yes exactly, @CurlewKate .

It's tedious.

Many years ago I used to try to take MN posters at face value. I might disagree with their opinion, or think we had different information on something, but I would assume they were sincere in what they said.

Sadly I no longer believe that for a sizeable proportion of posters. I shouldn't be surprised, because as PP have said we've known since Cambridge Analytica and all that, that insincere posting (paid or unpaid) goes on at scale.

It's a shame, but there we are.

(NB I'm not suggesting you're a bot, OP.)

Yep it’s not that unusual.

Boomer55 · 14/05/2026 16:29

To be honest, I find her sneering personal comments a complete turn off.

TemperanceWest · 14/05/2026 16:58

Badenoch has just put her own self interest before the good of the people of Worcestershire.

pointythings · 14/05/2026 17:02

Badenoch has just suspended a Conservative councillor for entering into a coalition which keeps Reform out of power. Yep, nailing her colours firmly to the mast there.

mmmarmalade · 14/05/2026 17:06

One thing that is not in her favour IMHO is that I don't think she has the appeal to reach across the political divide - I can't see her winning voters over from any other party.

According to a YouGov poll 29% of conservative members view her unfavourably 37% think she's doing a bad job as leader

https://www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/2025/10/07/badenoch-party-polling/

TemperanceWest · 14/05/2026 17:07

Adam Kent explained his stance

"On national policy there are many areas where we continue to disagree with the Greens - however, local government is not Westminster.

"Over the last year residents have suffered appallingly due to the instability of Reform in Worcestershire.

"At some point, responsible councillors have to stop standing on the side lines."

And yet Badenoch suspended him for his actions.

Keep seeing different versions of this thread and always imagine a bright young advisor sitting in Kemi's office and churning them out. First task on the to-do list - - Mumsnet post about how great Kemi is.

I wondered this too. It definitely happens, and these threads are so frequent and so over-the-top.

She'd have taken us straight into an illegal war and sent British troops to die in Iran, just to please Trump. She is not a safe pair of hands.

And this is very short-sighted. Those of us have lived for a year in Reform-led areas are seeing just how poor their governing skills are.

I don’t like Kemi at all,I especially didn’t like the way she wanted us to join in the war in Iran.

Not to mention failing to engage with Badenoch's Worcester gaffe. Political nous is something she utterly lacks.

That’s great. I’ve noticed some keep quoting like this. I still have no interest just so you know. There are others on here for you.
