Badenoch is on BBC News standing in front of an armoured vehicle (she's not sitting in a tank yet, but give her time).
When told that the majority of Britons don't want to be involved in this war, she said that we would be if we understood what it meant.
She's happy to have a conversation with the PM, obviously he's too stupid too.
Only she has the intellect required to want to bomb people.

You have previously called her “foul”.

I have indeed. I stand by my opinion that she is foul for using the abuse of women and children to attempt to score cheap political points during PMQs. Her behaviour upset survivors of CSA, but her supporters don't wish to acknowledge that.

Julen7 · 07/03/2026 13:28

So foul = horrible human being (in your opinion), surely.

How very dare she bring it up during PMQs?

She should have swept it under the carpet to avoid upsetting the perpetrators.

Silly woman.

I was talking about her calling Labour the "Paedo Defenders Party". How does that help anything? As I said, some CSA survivors posted very movingly about how it made them feel.

Katy Amess (daughter of David Amess) also condenmed Badenoch.

Illegal? Where's the threat to the US? Where's the UN resolution?
Deranged? What's the aim of this disaster? The excuses trotted out by Trump change hourly. This time next week he'll be bored and looking for his next target. Cuba? He's forgotten about Venezuela already.

The United Nations is basically a dead organisation now. If it largest members aren't going to follow its charter no-one else will.

I think we have departed from a time where "international law" applies.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 07/03/2026 13:38

She said that Labour is called this by some.

Is she wrong in that some called them that?

She was quoting Emma Lewis who says that is what the Labour Party is called by people she talks to. She is a Labour MP.

I wonder what PP would make of this.

johntorodesfatcheeks · 07/03/2026 13:51

Kemi Badenoch is a loathsome individual. She should do the right thing and follow the rest of her corrupt cretinous self serving bastard former colleagues and jump ship to Deform before big Nige’s deadline. The Conservative Party is rudderless, floundering, and increasingly irrelevant on the political stage anyway as Deform and Tory scum are largely interchangeable. The vacuum her departure as “Leader” would create is not only insignificant to the country but the party itself.
she is beneath contempt

Yes. I know. Badenoch tried to use that fact to excuse herself when her jibe landed badly during PMQs:

Perhaps before he gets on his high horse, he should ask why his Back Benchers are saying that they are being called “the paedo defenders party”. [Interruption.] I did not say it—

I know that they do not like it—[Interruption.]

IMHO Badenoch's reason for referring to it in PMQs was not to condemn it, but to give it traction. As I said, the incident upset survivors of CSA and was condemned by the daughter of a murdered MP. That should give pause for thought. YMMV, though.

Do you think the original backbencher was foul as well for saying it in the first place?

Isn’t that exactly what the Tories did with The Jay Report? Swept it under the carpet and failed to implement its recommendations? I believe Badenoch was also Minister for Women. Sure, it’s much easier to go low and take cheap, inflammatory shots at the opposition in parliament.

So now when they want it in the open they are wrong again?

They had plenty of time to get it in the open when they were in power. What’s changed?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 07/03/2026 15:03

No, just hypocritical and exploitative - they jumped on a bandwagon, and used the issue for political point-scoring (also risking a children’s bill at the time with their last-minute amendment). Any notion that they were doing it for victims doesn’t balance with their lack of action following The Jay Report.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 07/03/2026 15:21

But why is it wrong from the Conservatives to want it on the open now?

Do you disagree with that?

What’s the general consensus amongst victims/survivors and the professionals most involved with their support, safeguarding and objectives? Their opinions are the only ones that matter. What I strongly disagree with and I’m sickened by is how the whole thing has been weaponised for divisive party politics.

If Badenoch and her supporters can’t see what’s wrong with referring to Labour as the ‘paedo defenders party’ in parliament, and how low, inflammatory and insensitive that is, then I really don’t know what to say.

Since when are Labour backbenchers supporters of Badenoch?

An interesting and telling response @ChardonnaysBeastlyCat - perhaps show your support for Badenoch by crowdfunding to cover their deposit costs for the Gorton and Denton election.

She’s right.

Badenoch's spokesman was struggling to repeat her claims
