Interesting OP. It makes sense in that I could believe it of course, it’s not outrageous. There are always many sides to a story and this represents an alternate view that I think is probably valid.

the Russians have always had a different story. Because we have little access to their version story we assume whatever it is, it’s fake.

The outline up to 2022 is accurate to a point, obviously the account of NATO expansion is accurate. But Yanukovich was Russia leaning not neutral and afaik it was Putin who rejected the early 2022 peace deal - and later sacked the guy who'd brokered it.

It's best not to get information from X or tiktok.

I have already replied to her. However, it's true to say that being continuously engaged in current affairs and well informed is a good thing.
However, I think she's on to a loser with such a person who will not understand facts and logic.

Thank you all. To clarify, much as I would like to drop this person, we are in a tight knit community (rural, isolated area), where everyone socialises a lot together. So it is necessary to see each other, unless I exclude myself from the social circle which I absolutely do not intend to do.
