Longtime lurker first poster!

Let me start by saying I am no fan of Jeremy Corbyn by any stretch of the imagination. I think he’s too mild mannered and doesn’t really have any gravitas to speak of but can anyone here honestly say their life has gotten better over the last 9 years of Tory rule?? Youngest DS school class size has slowly got bigger, less support for learning teachers, less school trips and end of outdoor extracurricular activities. I think it’s absolutely shocking to see first hand and really upsetting that lots of kids nowadays are missing out on opportunities that my older kids had when they were in school.

Hospital waiting times have got longer and longer and local library’s and community centres are closing left right and centre. I never used to see so many homeless people on the streets either it’s so upsetting as we live in one of the richest countries in the world.

What I’m trying to get across is that although I’ve only ever voted for labour when Blair was in power and voted for the Lib Dem’s since, what have the tories ever actually done for normal working people? It seems like the whole country is going downhill and they are the only ones to blame as the responsibility lies at their door. I never in a million years would’ve thought I would vote for a socialist like Jeremy Corbyn but I don’t see any other option at this point. We’ve had 9 years of austerity and everything has gone to sh*t maybe we need to try something new. I’ve read their manifesto from the last election and a lot of the ideas were radical but would do a lot of good, just a shame it’s being presented by some less than charismatic politicians. That’s why I will reluctantly be voting labour in the next election

I’m desperate to get rid of the Conservatives but Jeremy Corbyn isn’t the answer. He has no policies, doesn’t make a stand (and follows through) on anything and has no control within his party. He’s along way off being a leader of anything with the number of in party issues there are within the Labour Party.

I know I'll be unpopular as well but the tories are making this a sad country with a deep gap between the well off and the poor, with shameful children poverty, appalling health and education. I think Corbyn is just what tge country needs at this time.

I think John Mcdonnell is the power behind the throne of the Labour leadership and is pulling Corbyn's strings. Hence I definitely wouldn't vote Labour.

Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party have plenty of policies. It's called a manifesto.

@Snapespeare - I’ve read the Labour manifesto and economists have regularly asked for evidence that it is fully costed and the information has never been provided. It’s a theory not a practical option although Boris is currently no better and all parties get worse leading up to an election with their wild promises.

And yes, I think he should be Prime Minister. I've first hand experience of the harm that the Tories (and the LibDems) have caused, and there are thousands even more harder hit than me. We need a government with policies that work for everyone, not just the more fortunate.

Remember that the manifesto is a long term plan. It's going to take a high level of spending to reverse the last nine years of damage done to the public sector, and in particular to regenerate the northern regions that have been left behind. It will take another ten years to reverse all the cuts, most of which were never needed in the first place.

I don't think he should.
I massively benefited from Tony Blair's government policies, I was able to have 8 years at home when the children were little due to tax credits. I literally picked up as much as my salary at one point (I have always been a TA so very low pay).
Tory cuts to education mean my job is permanently at risk. As is DH's he is also school support staff.
I absolutely think a no deal Brexit is madness.
I don't think our current Prime Minister is the man for the job.
I still don't think Mr Corbyn or the Labour Party as they are are right for the country.
We need a more balanced government at the moment policy too left or too right are both wrong for us at the moment.
Blair's New Labour were good to me and everyone I knew. I would love to go back. (Although the war with Iraq should have been avoided)

Corbyn kisses hands and comes back to Westminster to find he has lost a vote of no confidence while he was at the palace.

We cannot keep borrowing!!!! With Brexit, it is highly likely our tax take will go down as we head back towards recession. It was a world recession - Labour didn’t make it all on their own. Just wait until more nurses and doctors leave! Waiting times will be phenomenal. We are now going to be in a worse position than before Brexit and Labour won’t win. The country isn’t wanting old Trots.

I can not cite for labour with Corbyn at the helm. This latest school idea is unworkable. He seems to hate anyone who has more than a tenner left at the end of a week and is set to punish anyone he deems rich!

I'm a centrist and won't be voting for an extreme left Labour Party to govern. I'm not sure I'll vote at all in the next GE, I won't vote Lib Dem or Greens either.

Go to the people - have a General Election!!! That's what Jeremy Corbyn and his party have been asking, crying and begging for day after day after day; week after week after week, for the past 2 years. Now they have been granted their wishes - TWICE!

But they have their tails between their legs like the barking dogs that never bite. The Attorney-General (and Prime Minister) called them cowards last night when they offered them a third opportunity and I see no taking up of this offer which they so very dearly wanted for the past 2 years. Some call it chicken. What's the problem?

Increasing the higher rate band to take millions of middle earning workers out of higher rate tax?

This “he’s just too mild mannered” thing really winds me up. He’s a quietly decent politician who has quietly done good for 40yrs. Have you seen who our actual prime minister is?! How could JC possibly be a worse option than that? He stood in the commons last night and literally spent three hours answering the questions of over 100 MPs with variations on “but I’m in charge so fuck what you or your constitunents feel or think”.

When there’s a GE I will be voting Labour for sure.

We really need a general election, and we also really need to kick the fucking Tories out Labour to win.

What we don't need though, is Corbyn as PM. He isn't right for the gravitas of the job and simply doesn't have the charisma to carry it off either IMO, so they need to find a new leader asap.

I am stuck for who to vote for. I was going to vote for Lib Dem's as I voted remain in the referendum and would still like a chance at another referendum if no deal is passed. My dad and cousin voted leave but they've both changed their minds now, my dad was strongly in the leave camp but after the antics in parliament he said he trusts the eu to run the country better than our politicians could.

Now that the Lib Dem's have said they would revoke it without consulting the people I can't get behind them, it would cause a bigger divide in the country that will certainly last for a few generations and the whole Brexit debate will ensue for the next government and the next. I think I have to vote for labour but I really don't want to! I'd rather a referendum was done first and Brexit was dealt with one way or another. I don't like basing the reason for my vote on a party by wether they are remain or leave.

I’m sure Blair’s new labour was good to you but they screwed over subsequent generations by overspending and leaving the country ill equipped to manage after the global financial crisis. It’s grossly unfair that future generations are at a disadvantage because of Labour’s careless spending.
