Fed up of the cuts? Fed up of the mislead bigotry? This is your sanctuary. Unwind. Vent. Pop over to the frothers thread if you feel like getting organised and doing some proactive stuff or just chill out with a cup of builders tea in a polystyrene cup.

Welcome.

Um, down with that sort of thing.

No burgers of curry, please. I've just had a M&S pizza and salad

Might pass on the wine, too. Had some of the wine that SIL gave us, last night and my tummy hasn't been quite right since then.

I can set DS1 on the ignorant masses spouting "the overwhelmingly popular opinion" that the government keeps referring to, though (since when did popular opinion make anything right?) He can froth enough for all of us. Might not make much sense, though.

And maybe, like a daytime thing? So we could do a nice cheapy lunch somewhere and those coming from afar could get a £29 Premier Inn if they want to?

What do you think?

And maybe a fund? A little tiny fund where we could stick, like a quid or two - up to about five for the better off to use for drinkies and helps for the rooms and shit? Not charity or anything - just like a whip sort of thing? DYKWIM?

ValarMorghulis · 24/01/2012 19:27

London would be fine, I can go on coach if enough notice as that's only a tenner or so.

I am lolling at my writing this:

"And maybe a fund? A little tiny fund where we could stick, like a quid or two - up to about five for the better off to use for drinkies"

HA HA HA!

Spent too long on the RW threads today, people.

What I actually meant was like a little fundy/accounty thing where we could all stick, like a quid, two quid, a fiver in whenever we've got it to have a whip fund for some drinks and maybe some helps for accommodation if necc?

Righty Ho then so we're thinking That London then?

If we start sorting it now for Aprilish time then (not Easter obv) then we should be able to pick up some deals on Premier Inn/Travelodges and also on Train fares.

Peachy · 24/01/2012 19:45

Valar I one brtoke my keyboard during a spat with someone- the Sn crowd knew why I could not type certain letters for ages and it was a bit of an in joke!

Peachy · 24/01/2012 19:47

I managed to get a train to Manchester from London for £11 once Peachy - Shock

(I could possibly do an M4 drive down as a pick up getting some stragglers on the way - shall we see?)

TeWihara · 24/01/2012 19:51

Peachy I saw one of your posts on Twitter earlier btw - your boys are extremely cute!

Hullygully · 24/01/2012 19:52

Right London

Agree with all your thoughts Shirl.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 24/01/2012 20:15

OK, we're going to be slightly screwed on the £29 Premier Inn thing - because they don't run those in London Hmm

So there you are.

Let me give you the full SP on what I've discovered for the weekend of the 28/04/2012.

Travelodge - Double rooms (this can mean family) are currently sitting at £85.95 per room. So that's £42 mmble mumble each.

Staying at Farringdon

I've stayed here - it was OK, bit dated (who gives a shit right?) but perfectly OK

or

I think this is £99.00 but I can't really work it out:

Premier Inn London Eye

I've stayed here - it's amazingly fab.

This works out at 50 nicker per person - unless it's the £117 when it rises to a bit more.

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 20:18

I once had the misfortune of staying in the Travelodge in Battersea. It was like Holloway prison but less luxurious.

PI London Eye is better

If you move it sooner I'll come but don't leave it too long because we are throwing caution to the wind thinking about ttc and I don't want to come and be sober. That would be dull.

So April the 28th is looking abit sexual for you then Spike?

Is the 28th April looking a bit TTC for you Kate or have I struck an amazingly brilliant date full of amazement and shit?

KnottyLocks · 24/01/2012 20:45

Having checked my hectic calendar, I am available on the following Saturdays (I'm assuming Saturday is what we're thinking) :

March
10th
24th

April 28th (and 14th if we count the last weekend of the Easter hols)

I am actually available nearly every other Saturday but DH is not. The bugger has football. Football cramps my style. Boo.

KnottyLocks · 24/01/2012 20:47

Ah, the Farringdon travelodge. Happy days. An homage to artex.
