Fed up of the ConDems robbing the poorest and most vulnerable blind? Sympathetic to the squeezed middle? Have you eyes that can see the horrors that await the dismantling of our welfare state and all that is great and good in UK?

Then you're a frother. This is our safe-space to rally, vent and get organised. You are also welcome if you want to be better informed and/or do something.

#Frothers don't join - #frothers ARE. Check out the blog for information and actions you can take, like us on www.facebook.com/frothers Facebook for bite-sized chunks of frothiness you can read, like and share, or get ye to Twitter and tweet your frustrations using the #frothers hashtag or follow us @TMC_frothers.

nope its all a myth, but dd really did enjoy it Xmas Grin

been looking at the blog and love the poem

IslaDoit · 22/12/2011 01:42

Are we winding down the frothing for Christmas? I have finally done most of my grocery shop and will do the present buying tomorrow!

Frothy blog post is brewing too.

(Glad your dd is ok blackout)

garlicnutcracker · 22/12/2011 03:33

V. glad to hear your fermenting some froth, Isla Xmas Wink

Making a post look nice on Blogger is a nightmare, isn't it?! Need that sweated-brow emoticon. Anyway, have done Part One of my epic 'Numbers' project but am terribly worried it's either boring or incomprehensible (as long as it's not both, eh.) Seriously, if it is, you have carte blanche to edit it or send it back to draft.

I'm not doing Christmas this year, but have let things slide so much I really need to let the frothing go for a week or so. I will make a special effort to keep things rolling over the bank holiday, so give me specific taks as long as they don't involve writing actual posts (or web design)!

I am feeling very luuuurrrrving to all Frothers atm :)

garlicnutcracker · 22/12/2011 03:35

fuck Xmas Angry you're and tasks

Oh ... after seeing MmeLindt's faux pas on the blogging thread, I set up frothers.blogspot.com which should redirect straight to the real blog. Will be grateful for a couple of tests.

IslaDoit · 22/12/2011 03:44

Blog redirect works beautifully on Chrome. I have some issues with the mobile site but I don't know what's the best thing to do. Some of the text looks cut and paste and it's white words on black background so it can be hard to read. I can't go to full site from my iphone which is a shame. It looks beautiful on the full site though.

Great blog post garlic. Really clearly show what these incomprehensible numbers actually mean and nice clear actions. 10/10

Now away to my bed.

garlicnutcracker · 22/12/2011 04:51

I'm overjoyed (and surprised!) to get a reply at this time, Isla - welcome to Insomniacs R Us Xmas Wink

Haven't 'designed' the mobile site, just used one of the presets. Mine renders the full site, so I haven't seen it for real. Maybe try some of the other mobile templates and pick the one your wank phone likes best?

Hope you slept well. x

MmeReindor · 22/12/2011 07:58

Fab blog post, Garlic. And ties in well with this story today

We should perhaps start MN blog posts on the theme of the day, being careful not to be blog spammy though.

MmeReindor · 22/12/2011 07:58

oh, and good job on the blog redirect. I must admit that it is Frothers in my head, and I forget that the blog has a different name.

KnottyJustForChristmas · 22/12/2011 08:17

Garlic, that is brilliant! I finally get the numbers thing. You are a genius Xmas Grin

KnottyJustForChristmas · 22/12/2011 08:18

Blog direct is fine on bog standard Internet Explorer. Good job, lady!

KnottyJustForChristmas · 22/12/2011 08:23

I've got a blog post from our lovely Mouseface.
I'll upload it to draft/edit section later on today. It's about DLA and how the cuts could impact on Mousey and her family. She also talks about how Surestart has made such a difference to their lives.

It had me rather weepy reading it. Consider yourselves warned.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 22/12/2011 09:09

Caught up on the blog and it's going so well - tax avoidance and the numbers concept going next to each other really worked.

I had false labour again last night so feeling pretty blue. Will update the petitions page now.

(if anyone else wants to add a petition there is an edit button - a little pencil - at the bottom of that page which can be used to add things)

MmeReindor · 22/12/2011 09:10

Thanks Te, that was next on my list.

Am currently in discussions with those who state that the poor bankers, they shoudl get their bonus cause it was in their contract.

Hullygully · 22/12/2011 09:26

Everyone is just magnificent.

MmeReindor · 22/12/2011 09:27

oh, I am tedious.

And wrong.

And unreasonable.

And cannot be bothered arguing any more.

Going for a shower, then got an appointment with DD's teacher.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 22/12/2011 09:58

Okay all done, if I've missed one let me know.

I was going to tell you something Mme but can't for the life of me think what it was.

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 22/12/2011 10:05

Fantastic blog post this morning. It really helped me visualise the scale of it all. Thank you.

Mme - you are certainly none of that!

and Te - many thanks for adding the Shelter campaign to the petitions

MrsHuxtable · 22/12/2011 11:03

Has anyone else seen that the Scottish Parliament wants to block the introduction of UC because they deem the new system to unfair on the most vulnerable?

ShirleyKnotChristmas · 22/12/2011 12:05

I am having the most horrific problems with my internet connection and fear that I'm not going to be able to get the xmas eve blog written let alone posted.

Sad

sorry all.

AvadventKalendar · 22/12/2011 13:08

MrsH, have you a link to that?

EXCELLENT work GC !! "£19,608 per UK adult" am in Shock

How about for Xmas Eve and Xmas Day we take a break. Post up a nice festive picture of a Christmas past - Dickensian maybe - could make a point without having to actually write anything? And then crack on with 12 days? Mousey's post could it be split into 2, one for DLA cuts and one for Sure Start cuts to fit in with the plans?

We've all encountered Froth-rage I think Xmas Angry and I for once don't fancy being frothy over Christmas - I know I should care because it's important and I do but Christmas and peaceful time off with your families is important too.

What does everyone think?

ChristinedePizaTinsel · 22/12/2011 13:19

That's a brilliant post garlic - the bit where the amounts are compared to time is really helpful. I am useless with big numbers. God it's scary stuff isn't it? :(

KnottyJustForChristmas · 22/12/2011 13:22

Mousey's post is now in drafts.

I haven't spilt it into two. Could be possible although it would need more about Surestart. At the mo, that is a short paragraph really.

KnottyJustForChristmas · 22/12/2011 13:24

I'll be out of action for Christmas eve, day and Boxing Day, I'm afraid.

Have all the family descending. Festive chaos!

So, if anything more needs doing, I'll need to do it tomomorrow!

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 22/12/2011 13:27

I have volunteered to do the Surestart blog for the Twelve Days of Christmas, maybe Mousey's paragraph and my bit could go together?

AChristmouseTail · 22/12/2011 13:34

Point me in the right direction, I'll add to it Knotty x
