Fed up of the ConDems robbing the poorest and most vulnerable blind? Sympathetic to the squeezed middle? Have you eyes that can see the horrors that await the dismantling of our welfare state and all that is great and good in UK?

Then you're a frother. This is our safe-space to rally, vent and get organised. You are also welcome if you want to be better informed and/or do something.

OM
It is tricky to get someone to RT.

Best case is that you make them aware of your blog and ask if they would pass on to followers, and they do this with a little comment that shows they have read the blog. I think this is what brings most results.

I just read this on Ed Miliband's timeline:

Ed Miliband @Ed_Miliband 45m Reply Retweet Favorite · Open
I get 1000s of letters + emails from all over the UK every week. I?m going to share some of the important things ppl write #letteroftheweek

How about emailing some MPs and asking them to openly support our blog?

Had a look at Brokensinglemum blog. I think we should hold off at the moment, as she has used the blog to ask for donations for a deposit for a house. Not that I blame her, I would do anything to get my kids out of a dump like that, but I don't want to ask her to do a post for the blog when there may be a suggestion that she is trying to raise money. I don't know how that is going to pan out. Surely she will get her benefits cut for this?

6 has to be something to do with the Big 6 Energy companies and their monopoly

ShirleyKnot · 16/12/2011 16:07

I thought it was 4 Calling Birds - have I been wrong all these years?

KnottyJustForChristmas · 16/12/2011 16:11

I thought it was calling birds too, Shirley.

MmeLindor. · 16/12/2011 16:16

I am tweeting some select MPs, and asking them to look at the blog.

It is 5 Olympic rings - maybe something about the cost of the Olympics - and how there are cuts to sports funding elsewhere ?? Presumably.

I can look into the Sports Councils, to see if they have been affected.

ShirleyKnot · 16/12/2011 16:16

What is a Colly bird? I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THIS!

Um...Ladies dancing - how about the report which showed that the cuts affect 73% (or whatever the stats were) of women more than men (Fawcett society I think...?)

Am I right? Or AM I BLOODY WRONG ABOUT THAT AS WELL?

The world feels like a strange pl;ace to me this afternoon! Xmas Wink

ShirleyKnot · 16/12/2011 16:17

They've just pumped some extra funding in for the opening ceremony Mme. bastarding bastards

OpinionatedMum · 16/12/2011 16:20

I think you can recieve a certain amount of money as a gift per year if you are on benefit , not sure of the amount.

I think she is taking a risk as their are so many people with bees in their bonnets about benefit claimants, even ones in her situation, who would just love to grass her up. I don't blame her for trying to get out of that place either.

MmeLindor. · 16/12/2011 16:23

Exactly, OM. It is playing into the hands of those who call "scrounger" and I hope it doesn't backfire on her.

Geese - the golden goose? Banks?
Turtle Doves - something to do with single vs married?

JuliaScurr · 16/12/2011 16:24

Shirley you are correct.
7 swans aswimming on a reservoir of metered water
3 Henchmen (Callmedave, Boy Gideon, Pinickio Clegg)
2 Miliband bruvs
And a useless Labour Parteeee

MmeLindor. · 16/12/2011 16:25

hahah at a useless Labour parteeeeeeeeeee

Shirl. This is going to ruin your Christmas. I am sorry. But there is no Calling Bird

It was a story we made up when you were little to make Xmas a little bit more special.

JuliaScurr · 16/12/2011 16:25

4 bailed out banks

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 16/12/2011 16:27

I know that 14,000 MOD (mostly soldiers probably) are having leave cancelled to act as security for the olympics, as well as everything else they do... thread in military wives about it.

In fact, could post post in military wives and ask if there is a cut they feel is unfair and would like to talk about? I think there have been cuts to relocation costs also, but not sure how much.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 16/12/2011 16:29

I know a fair bit about the cuts to MoD projects and how much of a waste of money that is + public sectors issues it's caused, but I don't know how much I can say!

JuliaScurr · 16/12/2011 16:30

I meant Shirley was right about the 73%
Both dp and I are impressed with the colly bird thing

garlicnutcracker · 16/12/2011 16:30

KnottyJustForChristmas · 16/12/2011 16:34

Shirl, you've lost a partridge. V careless.

MmeLindor. · 16/12/2011 16:34

Yes, that is tricky, Te. Would you ask in Military Wives about that?

Steve Bassam just RTed our blog.

Wonder if it is better to target individual MPs. Do you think there is a list of MPs on Twitter somewhere?

OpinionatedMum · 16/12/2011 16:34

I am loving the useless labour party.

There is no real opposition to all this crap.

Metered water: my total amount due from last year £626.50 !!!!

South West Water. They have the highest bills in the country. The govt have decreased the bill by £50. But the company have just raised prices to wipe that saving out!

It's because they are cleaning up our coastline. Hmm

ShirleyKnot · 16/12/2011 16:35

There was a list on the first thread wasn't there? Or a link to a spreadsheet or something.

Knooty - SHUSH! Wink
