I'm not quite a frothing berserker but I am getting rather cross with our government messing with the good stuff.

Just off the top of my head:

  • Student fees
  • Public sector workers terms and conditions (otherwise known as moving the goal posts after the match has started)
  • Women (Report on Fawcett legal challenge result here)
  • Sure Start
  • NHS
  • Erosion of employment rights
  • Removal of EMA
  • Removal of universal child benefit
  • Unfair changes to DLA
  • Unfair changes to ESA assessment

I am getting more and more fed up that these decisions are being made to take away some of the things we should be most proud of and that took years to be achieved.

This thread is a safe haven for some ranting as I know some of us are feeling sick and tired of it all.

I've spent all day re-tweeting anti-cuts, anti-osbourne stuff. Twitter is great on days like this.

fothergill · 29/11/2011 20:20

Yes! Sorry catching up reading back, that made me laugh, even within our family there are meh's about asking to keep our pensions as we signed up for. The Big Society at each other's throats. Slow hand clap for the Big Society idea.

northeastofeden · 29/11/2011 20:20

I'm in!! What are we doing about this then? A mumsnet march to downing street as well as pandoras suggestions?
I am fed up of being pissed off on internet forums and self medicating with wine, it is time for action!

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 29/11/2011 20:22

Cant we just line the whole lot up and shoot the fuckers?

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:22

I will PM my Twitter name to anyone who asks. My personal account is fairly quiet (I tweet as a volunteer) but I occasionally dust it off!

So, does anyone have any ideas for a key word? That, hopefully will help spread the word.

There are lots of political points being made on twitter by govt which have no sources or evidence, they are just relying on knee jerk reactions. Lies and misinformation!

cardibach · 29/11/2011 20:26

OK. I couldn't wait until THursday. I've emailed my (Lib-Dem) M with this message:
As a constituent, I thought you should be aware of my dismay at your party's betrayal of Liberal Democrat ideals in the pursuit of power. There is no point in forming a coalition so that you 'have a voice' and then not using it but allowing the Conservative party to further their own ideological ends under cover of a Global Recession. The Liberal democrats need to do something to stop this, even breaking up the Coalition if necessary, or they will be completely abandoned by the voters who gave them the chance to have some measure of power in the first place.

#frothers

It's not taken and it's very apt. If we want to join forces later we can adopt other hashtags.

What do you think?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 20:27

Oh that is good, cardi

ChantingAsISpeak · 29/11/2011 20:28

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:29

Yes v good. Shame my MP is Zac Goldsmith (Con).

Maybe nice Vince Cable across the river is worth a go?

Have put out a tweet for #frothers

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 29/11/2011 20:31

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 20:31

topknob · 29/11/2011 20:31

I'm in ! I have such a hatred for dictators Tories...My dh is self employed I am a sahm mum and we have 5 kids, which we provide for other than CB and CTC..dh also gets WTC. My middle son is disabled, he is almost 10 with the mental age of a 5 yr old. Me and my son are the people the Tories dislike along with everything else mentioned. I worry so much for his future...I want him to be safe but under this government I do not see that happening.

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:31

If only MrsDV. Trouble is Eton keeps breeding them, daddy keeps bank-rolling them and the Bullingdon Club keeps churning them out.

They're like Japanese Knotweed. Once you get them, you can never get rid of them.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 20:32

when you sign up for twitter it asks for your full RL name

does that ever get made public (fears for job) ?

lubeybaublely · 29/11/2011 20:34

AF yes it does, use a pseudonym?

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:34

Yes it does AF. Just type in the name you want to be known by where it asks for full RL name. ie
First name: Any
Surname: Fucker

PandorasSocks · 29/11/2011 20:34

Brilliant re twitter!

Ok, if this gets going (and no reason to think it shouldn't), then it might just do something.

My DH has just pointed out that this govt has been known to backpedal on issues that are potentially hot eg the expected January duty increase on fuel.

It might just be worth kicking up a big enough stink and getting traditional and social media involved.

ZhenXiang · 29/11/2011 20:35

I think we need to remember that every major party had MP's who defrauded us taxpayers of hundreds of thousands of pounds, list here. Not to mention the fact that some of the policies being pushed through by the coalition were in fact dreamt up and even trialed by Labour. It doesn't matter who you vote for they are all at it.

I think we need to set up our own parties and/or support independent candidates to stand in every area who have policies that support safeguarding of our public services and are against starting wars in countries every five minutes and returning to the workhouses of Victorian Britain.

Tips here for becoming independent candidate.

We could call ourselves the New Raving Loony Frothy Beserkers Party if you like.

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:36

I'd rather we just split the coalition and started again tbh.

lubeybaublely · 29/11/2011 20:40

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 20:41

madmomma · 29/11/2011 20:44

I'm frothing like a mad bitch on crack. THEY DON'T CARE We can all go and kick shit as far as they're concerned. Never mind that people are dying cos of short hospital staffing at weekends. Never mind that working families have a shit quality of life. Never mind that our NHS and our schools are being bought up. Never mind that our kids won't be able to go to uni. They don't give a flying fuck because they're using the cream of private healthcare and education.
