I'm not quite a frothing berserker but I am getting rather cross with our government messing with the good stuff.

Just off the top of my head:

  • Student fees
  • Public sector workers terms and conditions (otherwise known as moving the goal posts after the match has started)
  • Women (Report on Fawcett legal challenge result here)
  • Sure Start
  • NHS
  • Erosion of employment rights
  • Removal of EMA
  • Removal of universal child benefit
  • Unfair changes to DLA
  • Unfair changes to ESA assessment

I am getting more and more fed up that these decisions are being made to take away some of the things we should be most proud of and that took years to be achieved.

This thread is a safe haven for some ranting as I know some of us are feeling sick and tired of it all.

Brilliant, emskaboo!

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:10

oh yes...frothers and epileptics < arrgh >

the last thing we want to do is offend

is it ok ?

HuntyCat is an epileptic, she has been all over these types of threads. I could ask her.

lubeybaublely · 29/11/2011 21:11

ignore the things that come up in the search AF - well the profiles on the right anyway, any tweets with the frothers hashtag will appear in the big white space under the search (or should do anyway)

TuftyFinch · 29/11/2011 21:12

I stand in solidarity with you all! I have just finished a 12 hour day of teaching. Am at Waterloo East. Train cancelled. Won't get home until midnight. Very unhappy.

I know this isn't actually massively relevant but I'm a bit cross.

I'll sign anything. Anything.

crazynanna · 29/11/2011 21:12

Woohoo emskaboo my group that I support is on one of thoses links

On the Boycot Workfare link,I am a member of London Coalition Against Poverty!
We often demo outside JCs'...our particular bone is with ATOS.
I have been removed by the old bill Met Police from the local ATOS office last year when I refused to move...but never got nicked.
I wasn't at that demo shown though...but I was leafleting outside Angel tube.
GO LCAP!!!!!!!!!

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:12

emskaboo thanks so much for doing that

am leaving it for now, lubey, am just too tired and fed up

lubeybaublely · 29/11/2011 21:12

Shock re: the possible epilepsy thing. yes we should check if it's ok or not before using frothers too much

swallowedAfly · 29/11/2011 21:14

not worth crying over AF - try again tomorrow.

ready for my idiotic question???

where is the friggin hash key on my keyboard???

Scarletbanner · 29/11/2011 21:14

Hello Frothers. I'm in too, although not sure about twittering. I am fed up and tired of being fed up.

It's just so sad that the vulnerable and poor will bear the brunt of the Tory slashing and burning. Pah! Angry

swallowedAfly · 29/11/2011 21:16

yep women and children equates to push them off the ship first for the tories.

seriously - i have no hash key! how does one twitter without a hash key? this is the story of my life.

swallowedAfly · 29/11/2011 21:17

damn! women and children first that should have read. too tired i think.

dollymixtures · 29/11/2011 21:18

Five years of lurking and I've barely posted...but I can't read this and not add my voice.

Dave Cameron wanted the Big Society, he wanted people to pull together and get involved didn't he? Let's give him his Big Society Grin

This might even get me onto Twitter...

PandorasSocks · 29/11/2011 21:18

swallowedafly, it actually made sense in your first post as well Wink

fothergill · 29/11/2011 21:21

ach. I did post my first tweet. It's not showing up there on a search #frothers Techno mum failure. It's out there somewhere, unheard.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:21

I have messaged HuntyCat and asked her about the word "frothing", whether it is acceptable or not

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:21

saf, my # key is next to my enter key

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 21:21

Emskaboo you are amazing!

I wouldn't worry about frothers offending epileptics. We're not using it in a perjorative way.

Have you got a space in between your # and your frothers AF? And are you searching all tweets?

I'm in the 2nd year of a 2 year Foundation Degree course, which was set up and targeted at in my case very mature students who needed to re-train, or wanted to gain a recognised qualification which took their work experience into consideration.

All the students in my year want to progress on to the 3rd year of the honours degree, and have been told by our course leader that we will be accepted - we are a shit hot group! We are currently fighting though to continue paying the lower (£3,400) tuiton fee next year, instead of being charged £9,000 for our final year.

£9,000!!! For one year! That's what Oxbridge charges. Our Uni ranks, ooh, about 88th in the uni league tables.

There is an accessibility principle at stake here. Foundation Degrees were set up specifically to enable mature students (mostly without post-16 educational qualifications) to return to higher education.

Goalposts moved again. And again. And again.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:22

welcome out of lurkdom dolly

emskaboo · 29/11/2011 21:22

Glad to help, I'm off to bed now, but I'll check in tomorrow and update the lists

Smile
AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 21:23

kate I dunno < sniffs > .

should there be a space ?

fothergill · 29/11/2011 21:26

swallowedafly, alt + 3. On my keyboard. I am having to stop myself from a releasing a (possibly unnoticed) torrent of vitriol via twitter having resisted ever tweeting at ALL before.

swallowedAfly · 29/11/2011 21:27

not mine AF. i don't have one Sad any macbook users know how to get a hash?

using the word hash is making me snicker like a 14 yo.

ChantingAsISpeak · 29/11/2011 21:28

No AF, don't worry, it has take me about 3 attempts to include a link in my tweet - I'm pretty new to it too. :)
